Jack swung his hoe once more, plowing some of the loose soil into a neat row; Jill should have been returning to the farm soon - it had been quite a while already. The sun was scorching; if he had to stay out here any longer, then he would probably just melt.
When the familiar voice of his sister called, he turned around, holding a hand to his forehead to block the harsh sunlight before beaming brightly at Jill. "It's about time, Jill! Seriously, what took you so long?" He shouted across the large field.
