Lilleigh jumped out of her tree and went inside. "Oh, my daughter isn't usually here, but she's such a sweetheart," came her mother's drunken voice from the living room. Lilleigh sneaked past and ran upstairs quietly to her room.

"Lilleigh!" her mother called from downstairs. She obviously knew Lilleigh had come home. Lilleigh got off her bed and trudged downstairs. "Yes, mother?" she asked. "Say hello to Bill, honey!" her mother said. "Hello, Bill," Lilleigh said glumly. "Go back to your room, kiddo," he said, pointing towards the stairs. "Gladly, sir," Lilleigh mumbled and walked back upstairs to her room.
