July's day was just starting as she finaly finished getting dressed, and headed down the stairs. The house, empty as always on a friday morning, was silent, and she shuddered turning the radio on. July hated being home in the quiet. Looking around the whole kitchen she found her cell phone near the stove and quickly slid it open texting to her best friend Falyn. Hey, you wanna go to the beach? hitting send July opened the fridge and pourd herself a glas of lemonade and waited for Falyan to reply.

Alec had unacked his things the night before and had just finished putting everything away, in his new black bedroom. Standing at his window that over looked the ocean, he wondered if he would find others like him and his family here. After afew moments of a daydream he turned away from the window, and slowly walked down the stairs. His parents already gone out to find new hunting ground near by, he desided to take a walk along the beach. Walking out the back door, his toes slid into the sand and his cut off knee shorts brushed against his legs. Pulling his black shirt down, he began to slowly walk toward the water.

Jaden grumbled softly to himself, the house had been ready and unpacked for days, he should have already been out making friends, but he just didn't feel like it. Jayden paced his room, the ocean blue walls almost now becomeing annoying to him he walked out of his room and down the hall and out the front door, not really knowing were he was going. It was warm, yet he still wore a pair of dark denim skinnies, and a white tee shirt, not really caring he looked out of place.

Casside was down in the center of town, paying for her breakfast. She smiled to the waitress before walking out the doors of the little cafe. Heading towards the beach, she walked slowly, trying to remember her way around the town. taking some little streets, she found herself back towards her neighborhood, and sighed. She had the town backwards. Shaking her head once again she started for the beach, passing afew peole she didn't reconize she keep her head focused on were she was going.

Jersey pulled an old teddy bear from the box and set it on the shelf. She arranged it carefully next to a couple of her snowglobes and picture frames. She looked at the pictures, one of them a shot of her and her old best friend before she had found out about Jersey and Colt. That girl was the reason for the move as there were just too many rumors and strange looks and whispered lies in the old, cluttered city. Moving to Riverwood was a fresh start and exactly what Jersey and her brother needed. The blonde looked at another picture, this one a shot of her and Christopher Drew, whom she'd ran into at a restraunt back in New York. She studied his handsome crooked smile and his arm around her shoulders and it still gave her butterflies. Smiling, she walked over and looked out at the beach from her window. She still couldn't believe how beautiful it was.

Colt sat at the kitchen table, picking at a lunch he wasn't in the mood to eat. He stared at his phone with a deathly glare. He willed someone to call him or someone to save him from the stuffy house, even though it wasn't possible, because no body here even had his number. "Jers!" he shouted into the empty house, as he stood from his chair and walked over to dump his meal in the garbage.

Jersey walked to the top of the stairs and looked down at her brother in the kitchen. "What?" she asked, pulling her curls into a side ponytail. She saw him glance up at her and then lean against the counter.

"Let's go do something," he said, crossing his arms across his chest. If spending time with his little sister was the only way to get out of the house, he felt pretty sorry for himself.

Jersey sighed, but grabbed her keys and jogged down the stairs. "Only if I drive."

Colt shrugged and pushed off from the counter. He grabbed his phone and started out the front door. Jersey followed close behind and jumped in her blue pickup. Colt slunk into the passenger seat, not too happy about his little sister driving him around. As she started the car and backed out of the drive way, he turned on the radio and looked at Jersey. "So where are we going exactly?" she asked, glancing at Colt.

Colt laughed and shrugged, "I dunno, I guess we'll just drive around and look for something."

Jersey smiled. "Sounds like a plan."

Faye clapped her small hands together, staring out the window and to the city outside. Riverwood. It was home, now. She sighed, shaking her head and turning away from the window. She wanted her old home back, in the real city of all cities, New York. She ran a hand through her hair, then pulled it into a lazy, loose and messy ponytail. She slipped out of her wife beater and pulled a silver, black, and blue shirt over her head. She grabbed her darkest skinny jeans and headed out, slipping dark flip-flops on and walking to the beach. What a better way to get acquainted with home.

The beach seemed nearly empty when she got there, and she was almost relieved. Most of the times, she preferred to be alone. She messed with one of the two rings in her lower lip, pulling her flip-flops off and walking bare-foot on the soft sand. It was more comforting than hiding in her room, that was for sure.


Icy blue eyes scanned the area, curious. Elliot lounged in the smoothie shop, sitting by himself and grinning whenever people looked at him. He was an odd sight - sitting there, feet on the table, chair leaned back, hair all messy and floppy, his piercings adding to the oddness, too. Elliot was an odd boy sometimes. He ran a hand through his hair, sipping quietly from the strawberry-banana smoothie that was previously next to his feet. He noticed a lot of new faces around town, and he was curious about what was going on. But he knew who would: his friend Adam.

He pulled his phone out of his pocket, taking another lazy sip from the large smoothie. He began a simple text message, to Adam of course, saying, "smoothies?" Of course, Adam probably didn't know he was already there, waiting, but whatever. He didn't have to know. Elliot was bored anyway, okay! Geez.

A small dove flitted through the city, looking curiously this way and that. The dove's pure white feathers were stained, as if by ink, by a few dark brown and black ones, marking it as an oddity. It zoomed into an alley, and seconds later, a tall, slim girl left the same alley. She stretched her arms above her head, yawning and yearning more of that flight. Being a shape-shifted made everything easy for her. Charlotte rubbed her arms, looking right and left, and trying to remember where she saw the McDonald's. She finally chose to go left, hooking her thumbs into the pocket of her lime green jeans.


Alex, pale, dark, depressing Alex walked out of his house, brooding over everything that brought him to this new town. He wanted to go back to his old home, but he would have to deal. He looked at his feet, avoiding meeting much people's gazes as he walked on. His hazel eyes stood out against his face, his pasty white face, and his dark, raven black hair. Most people considered him ugly, some attractive... Whatever. He leaned back and pulled his hoodie over his head, sighing deeply. His hair was brushed out of his eyes so he could see where he was going, but he still looked as dark as ever.

Falyn smiled pulling her phone out of the front pocket of her drak grey skinny Jeans... she read a text message from her best friend... flipping open her Envy3 she texted back Gimme 5 mins, I'll be over, text the boys and see what they're up to! Peace out she hit send and closed her phone, going upstairs to get on something a little more beach appropriate. She put on a blue and yellow bikini, and then threw on a little pull over dress to go over it. She slipped on some dandals and went back downstairs. Falyn whistled quickly and three dogs came running over to her. A male Border Collie named Trigger, a female Australian Shepherd named Jenna, and their three month old male puppy name Hunter.

Adam was upstairs, in his room throwing on a pair of black swim shorts and a black t shirt. His phone started ringing on his bed and he picked it up, reading a text from his best friend Elliot. He quickly opened up his phone and texted backYeah dude, c u there in ten he closed his phone and stuck it in his pocket.... walking downstairs he gave his German shepherd, Duke, a pat o nthe head and walked out the door. Adam owned a car, but never drove it, because the town was so small and everything was withing walking distance.

Nikaya walked outside her new house, stationed by the cool waters, and warm beach. Looking around she sighed, could she really make this work, or be outcast like the last neighborhood. She personally, liked the world better when her kind and the others like her were kept secret, and they could go out into the world without being stared at like they were other worldly. Some humans accepted them as if they were just another race.... but there were still those humans that insisted they were animals, dangerous to their kind. Nikaya was just like any human, only she had wings, and the power to read people with one good look into their eyes. She can see their souls, Judge them, and know their story with just one glance. She doesn't use her power on the humans... she finds them too interesting to just read all at once. Kay walked off of the beach and across the street, over to a small smoothie place, a few people there stared as she walked by, massive black angel wings tucked close to her back, other tried not to look, afraid she guess. "Hi, I'll have a strawberry banana smoothie, small" she ordered and went to the pick up window. She whistled a tune as she waited, looking around she held a smile on her face, trying to show people she was a happy creature that was nothing to fear. Kay was a beautiful girl, with shoulder length black hair, and blonde streaks, and dark grey eyes. She had a pale but soft complexion, and a small petite figure. She wished people could see her beauty, but she felt like everyone saw her wings, and immidiately thought she was a freak.... even if it's not the truth.

Dustin walked up to the smoothie shop, and ordered, then smiled as he went to stand by another angel. "Hi. I'm Dustin" he smiled, extending his black and red wings for her to see.... they were unique, every other feather switched from black to red and the tips were white. He was a blunt person, actually rather rude, so when he noticed some humans looking at him through peripheral vision he turned with a chuckle. "Do you have staring problems?" he hissed.
"Hi I'm Kay." Nikaya said softly, looking around awekwardly. "Nice wings.." she smiled awekwardly now.
"Eh, yeah, I'm half Demon." he said softly, flipping his jet black hair to the side, his crimson eyes showing his demon half, Other than the wings and red eyes, Dustin was a normal kid. Well ,besides the fact he was gorgeous.... he gave Kay a soft smile and turned around, noticing a boy their age, he smiled at him, trying to seem friendly. Hoping to make some human friends in this beighborhood was ab biggie for the creatures....

July jumped at her phone as is beeped telling her she had a new message. She smiled quickly grabing the phone and reading Faylans' text, then opening a new message and adding Adam and Elliot to the "To" form hey what are you up to.. me and Falyn were heading down to the beach..... You comming? she quickly typed hitting send. lookign at her all black bikini sh had put on after her shower thismorning and shrugged taking her phone and unning up the stairs to grab something to put on over it.

Alec spotted another girl walking along the beach and he almost smiled to himself. Slowly making his way towards her he actualy did smile smelling that she too was a vampire. With his head down, and more out towards the ocean than were he was going, all part of his master plan.. that had only been donw a few million other times. Slightly walking nto her he stoped looking up. "Oh.. sorry there.. didn't see you." he smiled his fangs showing slightly.

Jaden sighed as he aproched the beach, his wings floded tightly against his shirt. Spoting two other sets of wings down the street alittle more he smiled rememning himself not to make it look like such a big deal. Walking up next to the two of them he smiled, his wings unintentanaly unfolding slightly showing of the white with grey specked wings. "Hey!" he chuckled sightly, he was really bad at starting conversations.

Cass watched as a boy and girl got into a blue pick up truck. Approching the driveway they would be pulling out of she stoped to let them out, trying to be kind and helpful and even try to make a few friends too.

Elliot smiled faintly as his phone buzzed before playing a little annoying ringtone, making a few people in the shop look at him with the demon eyes. "Turn your phone off!" their gazes said, but he denied. He simply looked at his phone, nonchalant, then opened it to read the text message. "alright" was his reply to Adam. He gave a grin up to the angels he saw standing near the counter - he was indifferent to all the... "weirdos" there. He was actually enthused by them. He turned his gaze to his smoothie, jumping as his phone buzzed again. "What the..." He pulled his phone out, reading a text from July. "smoothies, then beach. u meet us here, im lazyyy" He gave a chuckle as he sent the message, looking down at his swim trunks. He was always prepared.

Faye was quiet, listening in silence to the sounds that the beach provided for her. Other footsteps, other breathing, the sound of the waves, the birds calling... It was definitely calming - she knew why people loved the beach so much. She smelled a familiar scent, but she pushed it anyway, thinking it would pass over time. Another vampire. She jumped as the smell was overpoweringly close, then someone slightly bumped into her. "No problem..." she murmured oh so quietly, glancing up to meet the ice blue eyes of the boy who'd bumped into her. Fangs. She felt a smile take over her mouth, too, revealing her pointy little fangs. "Faye," she introduced. Any vampire was a friend of hers.

Falyn knocked on July's front door with a rythmic tune. "Jngle Bells" she yelled, loud enough for the neighbors to her obnoxious screetching voice, one all too farmiliar to July.... who had probably- no wait, who had certainly heard her frind by now. "OPEN IT!" Falyn yelled anxiously, jumping around on the doorstep.

Adam didn't bother to answer July's text... he loved doing that to her... she hated being ignored! He chuckled, slipping his phone back into his swim trunks pocket and closed his bedroom door behind him. "Rain" he called and a small blue nosed pitbull came from around the house. "Come on girl." he said softly, as he headed for the smoothie shop down the street with his canine at foot. He wouldn;t dare go anywhere without Rain. It isn't that he was scared of the new members of the society... it's just that they hadn't given him a reason to trust them.... and until they could... Rain stayed as his second set of eyes and ears.... he reached the smoothie shop, smiling to Elliot as he walked through.

Dustin and Nikaya smiled as a boy walked over, revieling hs wings slightly. "It's seems we all migrate toward one area based on species.." he joked softly, lightening the mood, but his red eyes remained fixed on a corner of the smoothie shop, where a boy was greeting another... he heard them talking... and for some reason he was curious.

"I'm Nikaya... this is Dunstin..." Kay smiled and extended a small feminine hand....

Jersey smiled and waved at the girl who had let them back out. Then she was driving toward the main road. "So, how does ice cream sound?" she asked, turning on her turn signal as she pulled up to a turn and turned down the street.

"Sure," Colt replied. Jersey looked over at him, curiously studying his feet on the dashboard and his relaxed posture. She fought the urge to yell at him to get his darn feet off the dashboard and kept looking ahead for an ice cream shop. "Here we go." She pulled into the parking lot of a cute little shop and parked, taking her keys out. "Got any friends here, yet?"

"Nope." was Colt's simple reply as he opened the door and climbed out. He looked down briefly at his hoodie with rolled up sleeves and blue t-shirt underneath. The shell necklace he'd bought in Costa Rica and leather wristband seemed to go nicely with his khaki cargo shorts and sneakers. He glanced over at Jersey, who was wearing a light blue t-shirt and denim shorts. Her long, golden curls hung down her back. When had she grown so tall? He suddenly felt defensive and looked around for any guys her age.

Jersey made her way towards the shop and ordered herself a chocolate cone. Colt followed close behind and ordered strawberry cheesecake flavored. The two sat at a table outside and watched the cars pass in a companionable silence.
