.:Shay:.
The teacher glanced around, unsure of if she should move on or try to get him to speak.
After a beat of silence, Shay subtly glanced over at him. There had never been a student who refused to speak before. Sure, when she arrived she spent her first few months here in silence, but she tired of their coaxing and eventually gave them what they wanted, giving them straight answers and nothing more. All in one glance she saw Carmen's face, who looked horrified, The teacher who looked on the verge of being scared and Mute, who was glaring with such distrust and anger she looked away.
Shifting in her seat, she faintly heard her brothers dogs tags clank together, hidden under her shirt in case the teacher considered them a weapon. Her dog tags and her converse where the only things she had of her own, all her JCC uniforms property of the center. Her old things had been property of her dad, and, apparently disgusted with his only living child, moved away the first chance he got.
The teacher, obviously thinking he needed more to open his heart or whatever, patted him on the shoulder and moved on to Carmen.
