As the guard neared his position in the shadows, Keiran knew he'd been spotted and started up the hill, nearly losing his footing a few times, but regaining it quickly. Once he'd reached the top, he stopped for only a moment to glance around before darting off again. Speed was definitely one of his strong points, which was helpful in this sort of situation; stealth, he wasn't so good at, not to mention his ability to blend in. Jaclyn continued toward the voice, carelessly not worrying about staying hidden, just worried about making sure that Keiran was following her to safety, and not having gotten himself into trouble again.

The guard continued up the hill. "Stop there! Who is it?" He growled following Keiran.

Keiran didn't reply, nor slow down at all. After a moment, he veered off behind a tree, out of sight completely. "Not... fast enough..." He gasped quietly to himself, almost silently. "I won't... be able to... lose him if I can't.... outrun him..." His speed was one thing, his stamina, a completely different story. Keiran tried to muffle his harsh breathing with his hand, and it worked somewhat, but if someone was close enough, they'd still be able to hear it; but just barely.

Jaclyn followed the trail the two had been on a while ago, heading towards the slopes, but still far from them. It would at least take her another 20 minutes to get anywhere close to where Keiran had been before, if he even was there by the time she arrived.

Lyra::
She looks around the cave and hoists herself up from the pool and onto the cave floor, examining the cave ceiling. A guard races after Kieran also running out a breath. His own panting prevented him from hearing Keiran.

Keiran glances around the tree trunk and catches sight of the guard, much closer than he had thought. Quickly turning back to his original position, he darted off toward another tree, staying hidden the whole time, staying behind the trunk and carefully trying to be out of sight. But that, he couldn't be completely sure of. Jaclyn began to near the other trail, leading up from the first slope towards the second, getting ever closer to where she thought Keiran would be. But suddenly she stopped, glancing around nervously as if she had heard something. Venturing closer to the noise and further away from the safety of the shadows and path, she continued without thinking.

The guard pauses and looks about and then continued straight.

Keiran glanced around, making sure this time to stay completely out of the guards' sight. Jaclyn, on the other hand, not so much. She stopped again, catching sight of someone, or maybe "something" to her, but didn't think to hide; it never crossed her mind that the person could be a threat. In fact, maybe in her panic she may have thought for a moment that it could be Keiran. But after a moment of standing still, watching carefully, she found that it wasn't and darted off, not thinking to keep quiet. The rustling caught Keiran's attention, and he turned his head towards the noise, only to catch sight of his pet racing off, not all that successfully. He knew that it was only a matter of time before the guard noticed Jaclyn as well.

The gaurds head turned and he saw Jaclyn and raised an eyebrow. He started to follow the antelope instead

She stood up and walked silently, cautiously, deeper into the cave.

Keiran took his chance and ran off silently towards the direction of one of the caves, knowing it was usually somewhere that Toph was, although not all the time. But he soon stopped, veering into the shadows and waiting. 'I can't just abandon Jaclyn like this.' He thought deciding to turn back, but didn't see the fox antelope nor the guard any more. Jaclyn continued to run, hearing noise coming from behind her and knowing that something was following her. But while glancing back to see who or what it was, she tripped on a root and tumbled to the ground.
