Karen grinned and swung herself up onto Ruka's back. The dragon hurtled up into the sky, swivelling around Sigurd and the children of Hades. She whooped, her hair pinned back by the wind, her eyes shining with exhilaration. She pulled the ice dragon into a more leisurely pace and took in the scene below her with wide eyes.

Ryan leaped off of Sigurd and down onto Rukas back. He put his arms around Karens waist and smiled

Kali:

The daughter of Hades looked at the two and raised an eyebrow then rolled her eyes, obviously disgusted by how they acted so much in love. "Love birds..." she mumbled as she turned her gaze back in front of her. Too late.

Within a few seconds, Sigurd and Kali were both in a freefall to the ground at a considerably fast rate. Luckily, the daughter of Hades was able to grab onto the metal chain as she continued to freefall towards the ground. She shut her eyes, feeling blood starting to flow from Sigurd's wing and bracing herself for an impact. And an impact she got as she crashed into the training arena.

When she hit the ground, she was flung a few feet away from Sigurd, who remained still in the arena from the shock of impact. There was a loud crack as she landed on the ground, and she knew that she had broken a bone or two. When she finally stopped rolling, she made a poor attempt to get up from a ground, but she ended up doubling over while clutching her ribs. She was spitting out blood onto the ground.

Ryan saw Kali's fall and leaped off of Ruka. He ran to Kali and held up her head. "Karen!"

Kali:

The daughter of Hades shut her eyes and spat up even more blood. "Get your hands off of me!" she snapped but clutched her ribs even harder from the pain. She wanted to scream her ribs burned with pain so badly. She looked up at the sky, ignoring the pain she was in. A dark blue, Japanese eastern dragon slithered out of the sky with a rider on its back.

"Someone wants us dead..." Kali mumbled under her breath. She then clutched her ribs again and shut her eyes, hoping that the pain would just go away for once. Once again, she spat out even more blood onto the ground.

Ryan ignored her and picked her up in a postition so that her ribs wouldnt hurt. He carried her to the infirmary and laid her in a bed.

"I'm not that-" Kali was about to protest about how underweight she was, but she just coughed up even more blood. She shut her eyes, obviously in pain, and almost screamed when she was laid down on the bed. Her green eyes seemed to have a wild, distant look in them for some reason. It really was from all the pain she was in at the time.

"Shhh. Rest" Ryan said and pulled the blankets over her.

Karen looked at Kali with wide worried eyes. Eyes that hardened as she saw the other dragon rider. She jumped back onto Ruka's back and kicked her lightly, starting the dragon flying in the sky. She leaned down low on Ruka's neck, gaining on the Japanese Blue. As she drew level with it, she jumped, knocking into the rider and pinning him to his dragon's back. His dragon bucked and sent them both flying off it's back. 'It's too late', she thought sadly, 'I'm gone. Dead. I can't survive the fall'. As she shut her eye and accepted the fact, a hard surface slammed into her from below. Ruka. The ice dragon has caught her. And the other dragon rider. Ruka hit the ground with a thump and Karen wrestled the other rider to the floor, her lip splitting as the other ride punched her. He punched her again, sending her reeling before she got back into place. Blood dripped into one of her eyes, blurring her vision. She threw herself onto the other rider, pinning him with a knife to his throat. She panted in exhaustion.

Jackson saw Ryan carry Kali into the infirmary and narrowed his eyes. He ran up the stone steps, into the room and looked down at Kali. "Ryan", he snapped, "Fetch some nectar and ambrosia". He leant over Kali and gently used his hands to probe over her ribcage, poking it lightly. "Definitely broken", he said, his voice weary with relief. The ribs hadn't punctured her lungs.

"If they had punctured my wounds then I would be bleeding internally probably..." The daughter of Hades mumbled under her breath while chewing on her cheek. She was trying to act tough and not show any pain, but of course that didn't exactly work as she wanted to. It felt as if her lungs were on fire from the broken ribs, and she just wanted to curl up and sleep for some reason. Maybe that was the only real gateway to keeping her mind off of the pain? Just sleeping it all away? She couldn't really tell.

Letting out a small grunt of pain, Kali shut her eyes while making an attempt to block out the pain. She knew that ambrosia and nectar would help her, but Ryan was being a bit slow on fetching it in her opinion.
