Misty blushed more, but mentally blamed it on her tears. "I'll be perfectly fine by myself, thank you." Now, she started to become more defensive. "And, guy's shouldn't cry," she said between sniffles. "Besides, being around me will only get yourself killed, I can't promise I'll know how to restrain myself next time."

A lone boy, in his late teens to be exact, was unconscious in an unknown forest. Somewhere high up in the canopy, creatures chattered loudly to each other. Empty shells of nuts were sometimes thrown carelessly to the ground. One of these shells still containing the nut fell and knocked off the boy's head. "Ow," he grumbled sleepily, "not cool."
He was about to fall back asleep, when something that occurred to him struck him like a kick to the face. Why the hell--? was all he could think. All at once, millions of the usual unanswerable questions buzzed around in his skull. "I must have taken some nasty blow to the head," he said out loud, try to reason with himself as to why he couldn't remember anything.
He sat up, rubbing his head where the nut hit him. That couldn't have caused amnesia, it was too light. He looked around, trying to find any signs of where he was. Nothing of familiarity came to him, even when he looked at a trail (which lead to the ocean). It wasn't a clean path made by animals, instead, it was plowed through, sticks, bushes, and branches were all broken, and it all led up to him. It just made his head hurt more.
Up above him and over a few trees, some sort of bird (Ruyko) had perched on a branch with its back to him. It was black for the most part, but there was some brown in there too. He was glad to know there was a source of food around here.
Equality, Spirituality, Freedom, and Unity all require a simple, yet almost unattainable thing. Balance. And yet, when the world breaks us down to our most basic level, that is when we are open to the greatest change.
