A Forgotten Dream [1x1]

"Yes yo can. Now go, they're waiting for you." Tori smiled as he gave her a kiss. Tori walked outside and felt the warm sun on her skin. She headed out and got inside her car. She started it and began to drive. She was almost at her house, then suddenly her phone rang. She reaches for her bag and tries to get her phone. She looked away for a split second then suddenly there was a little girl running in front of her car.

Tori gasped and steered away from her as her car crashes onto a truck. She lost consciousness and everyhing faded to black.

A few hours later, Tori woke up in a hospital bed. She looked around and wondered why she was here. Her arm was on a cast and her legs were bruised badly. She noticed the doctor enterig the room. He began to ask her simple questions, like how old are you?, When's your birthday? But Tori couldn't answer. She managed to tell him her name, but nothing more. The doctor took her phone and found a recent call to Lucas. The doctor called Lucas and told him to come here, nothing more.

Tori was diagnosed with amnesia. It was unsure if it was permanent or temporary. She sat on her bed as she felt lost and confused.

Lucas hung up the phone and rushed from the feild to his mom waiting out in the parking lot. "Mom I need you to drive me to the hospital," he said in one large breath. His mother nodded and drove him to the hospital.

When he arived, he walked in the ER and found a doctor. "I'm looking for a Tori the doctor called me a few minutes ago." he said as the doctor lead him to her room.

"Tori!" he yelled, going down beside her bed. "What happened?" His eyes filled up with tears as he witnessed his love in the hospital bed, the same place he had been only a few months ago.

Tori was sitting on her hospital bed. Her arm was in a cast, resting beside her, while her other arm was picking on the food on the plate that's on her lap. She didn't have the appetite to eat and the hospital food didn't have much quality in it. A few minutes later, she picked up the food on her lap and placed it on the table beside her bed. The curtains were open as it allowed sunlight to pass through. She felt so lost, confused and alone. She didn't know anyone, nor does she even remember herself.

The door opened and a young man, about her age, entered and cried beside her. She slightly tilted her head to the side, giving him a confused look. Her heart was thumping loudly and aching at the same time, as if it felt heartbroken to see this man crying before her. But sadly, she doesn't know who he is. Her armed raised to his cheek as her thumb wiped his tears away, it was an act of impulse which made Tori shocked. She quickly pulled her hand away and looked down. She doesn't understand why she did that and who this man is. No words escaped her lips, only questions filled her mind.

Her pale face looked weak as did her whole body, but her radiant brown curls framed her face beautifully as her green eyes stared to the floor. She felt compassionate towards this young man, but she couldn't, no, she had nothing to say to him. Finally, she took a deep breath and looked at him with her warm eyes as her pink, soft lips slowly part and words escaped.

"W-who are you?" her voice trailed off as her eyes fell on his.

"T-Tori? You don't remeber me? Lucas? I'm your bestfriend and boyfriend," he said, still crying but harder now. Maybe he wasn't important enough for her to remember him. He sat down on the chair and burried his face in his hands, crying harder then he ever had before.

"Tori, I love you," he finally managed to say as he looked up, green eyes bloodshot from crying so hard. "I guess I'm not important enough for you to rember," he said as he threw his head back into his hands.

Tori's eyes began to fill with tears. It was unexplainable to her, but she felt pain and misery deep in her heart. She exhaled deeply and loudly as if she was having trouble breathing, not because of the accident, but from the pain she felt.

"I-I'm sorry.....I don't remember anything......but I do know that my heart aches when I see you like this...." she knew that that doctor told her to stay in bed, but her body acted up in it's own as she tries to get out of bed. But instead, she falls down hard and hits her back on the tile floor. She groaned, attempting to sit up and go to Lucas, but her body was awfully numb and sore. Her actions were unexplainable, but they felt right.

Lucas tried to stop Tori from getting up but to no avail. He leaned down and scooped her up, her light weight not a problem for even his foot problem. He placed her back down on the bed, brushing her hair out of her eyes. "You need to rest," he said as her wrapped his arms around her.

Finally pulling away, Lucas sat back down and pulled the chair closer to her bed. He grabbed her hand and held it, carressing her fingers with his thumb. "Okay, I'm Lucas Noah Bays. We met in sixth grade and have been best friends ever since. You live in a large house about two minutes from mine, and your parents live in England. I broke my leg playing soccer and then about a week ago, I confessed my love for you and then did this," he said as he planted a light kiss on her lips. "I love you, Victoria Scarlet Arceneau."

As Lucas picked her up, his warmth against her body made her feel safe and warm. She smiled and closed her eyes feeling his warmth against hers. She was placed gently down on the bed, opening her eyes. He gave her a hug. Her arms did the same and wrapped them around him. For some reason, she didn't want to let go. But she knew she had to sooner or later and he did. His warm hand held onto her cold ones as he caressed them gently.

Then he began to splurge information about her. As he reminded her about her life, she released her hand from his and grasped her head. It began to ache. Her eyes were shut tight while she had a strained look upon her face. Memories began to flow back as she remembers everything, well almost everything. All the things he said came back to her, beside the stuff about him. As much as she wanted to believe him, none of her memories about him would return. But she couldn't bare to see him hurting like that again.

Her eyes opened wide as he planted a kiss on her lips. For some reason, she knew his kiss all too well. His warm, soft lips locking against hers. She blushed as he tells her that he loves her. A smile played upon her lips as those words made her feel something indescribable. Her eyes opened as he pulls away from their kiss. She wanted more, she wanted to feel his lips again. She didn't want that feeling to end. Just a simple kiss made her feel well, as if she wasn't numb or broken. But the pain rushed back. Tori looked down to the floor then quickly traveled to his eyes. She reaches for his hand as she holds it weakly with her shaking hand.

"W-will you stay with me?.....please....." she looked at him with pleading eyes. She held his hand tighter, but to him it didn't make much difference for Victoria was weak. She didn't want anything to keep him away from her. She wanted him near her no matter what.

"Of course, love," he said as he scooted his chair closer to the edge of her bed. "Do you remember what happened?" he asked, trying to get some information out of her. His eyes were still bloodshot from crying but he left them alone.

Even if Tori didn't remember him, he was still thankful that she was alive. It could have been much worse, she could be paralyzed or dead. "Now we're both crippled," he said with a smile as he motioned to her arm.

Tori smiled and nodded. "Well at least I know that much about you." The redness of his eyes pained her. She knew that he cried because of her and she hated it. Tori looks down and brushes her hair behind her ear.

The nurse came in, "Time to rest Hun. Take your medicine, it'll help you sleep well." she placed a pill on Tori's hand and placed a glass of water beside her on the table. Then the nurse left.

Tori looked at the pill and placed it on the table next to the glass of water. "It hurts to swallow...." she said to Lucas invade he was wondering why she wouldn't drink it. The pill was to help her sleep and ease her pain, but she was stubborn and refuses to.

"If I fall asleep, will you still be here when I wake up?" she looked at him asking. Then she knew it was unfair of her to ask so much of him. Who was she to ask him to stay. She couldn't even remember him. She laughed nervously, "I-I-I mean, you don't have to stay, you're probably tired and it's unfair of me to ask you too...." her voice trailed off as she slowly slid down and laid on the bed. It made it difficult to sleep with her aching body, but she tried not to show Lucas that.

"No no no," Lucas said, squeezing her hand. "I'll be here, I promise." He stood up from his chair and wobbled on his foot for a second before leaning forward and giving Tori another kiss on the lips. Pulling away unwillingly after a long while, he carressed her cheek before saying "Goodnight Tori, I love you."

Lucas finally drifted off to sleep in the chair, much like Tori had done when he was in the hospital for his leg. He wouldn't be leaving her anytime soon, he cared for her far too much for that.
