Charlotte

Charlotte walked into the cafeteria, clutching her bunny in the crook of her elbow. With her free hand she rubbed her eyes sleepily and plopped down with Emmet at their usual table. "Wanna come with me to get our food?" She asked, yawning widely after she finished her sentence.

Emmet

Emmet nodded, closing the book he was reading and standing up. "Why are you so tired? It's not that early." He asked quietly as his little mechanical raven rolled along behind him. It's wheel-feet squeaking slightly.

Alice yawned, rolling off of her bed and onto the floor. "Ouch!" She shouted, causing Mishka to jump. The cross-species jumped from the bed, and rubbed it's large ears against her neck - as it let out a small purring noise. "Oh, Mishka, I'm fine.." She said, getting to her feet. After getting ready quickly, the girl adjusted her uniform, then grabbed the bunny/cat thing and ran from the room. [Mishka is pronounced: Me-Sh-Kuh]
Clide sat leaning against the wall beside the multi-color haired girl's dorm room door. When he heard the thud, he turned his attention to the door, raising an eyebrow. His steampunk-spider, Kali, crawled from one shoulder, to the other - it went down the boy's arm and to the door. A moment later, it scurried back to Clide's shoulder as the girl emerged from her room. Clide got to his feet, smiling. "About time. I thought we'd be late for breakfast. Lets go." He said, taking her wrist and leading her down the hallway.
The two entered the cafeteria, looking around and finally sitting down at their usual table. Clide liked to sit away from everyone else.. mainly Charlotte. His father had warned him about her great-grandmother. However, Alice liked to try and make friends - even with the wrong crowd. She waved over to the pair, then cuddled Mishka closer to her chest.

Charlotte

Charlotte sighed as the students gave her a wide berth. People generally avoided poor Emmet like he had the plague, but they avoided Charlotte because of her great-grandmother. I wish she hadn't been so mean... Maybe I might actually have more than one friend at this lousy school... She thought glumly, hugging her little bunny tightly.

Emmet

Emmet stared at the floor, knowing that all he would see if he looked up would be sneers and insults. He sighed and grabbed a tray off of the stack. When did being smart suddenly make you an infectious disease? He thought curiously, grabbing a few small pieces of toast before returning to his seat, the nameless mechanical raven following him loyally the whole way.

Mishka jumped from Alice's arms, hopping over the table and starting at a steady run. "Mishka!" She shouted, jumping up and running after the pet. She hit her kneecap on the side of the table and winced, but continued to run. "Alice!?" Clide shouted, jumping up and following after the girl. Kali almost fell from the boy's shoulder, but dug it's pointy metal legs into the skin. "Ow?!" He shouted, glaring at the spider.
Mishka slid to a stop in front of the raven-like thing, he bat at the wheel's silently. Alice stumbled, almost falling over. She picked up the bunny-cat and clutched it close to her chest. The girl bowed low, apologizing multiple times. Clide stopped about ten feet away from the three, his eyes closely watching Alice. He glanced up at the other girl, narrowing his eyes suspiciously.

Charlotte

Charlotte looked over at Clide curiously. Usually he was stuck to the Alice girl's side like glue, but now he just watched Charlotte carefully. She sighed and sat down, picking at her food wordlessly.

Emmet

Emmet looked over at Alice and the odd bunny-cat she had called Mishka. "I-it's f-fine..." He stuttered, scooping up the mechanical bird gently and placing it in his lap. He looked down at the bunny-cat curiously. "I-is th-this your p-pet?" He asked softly, looking down at the creature.

Alice nodded slowly, still bowing low. "Yes sir. I'm sorry." She said once more, staring at the male's shoes as she stood straight. He was, however, higher in the class rankings than her. All but Cross-species class with Miss. Ricketts. She hugged Mishka to her chest silently, still staring at the boy's feet. Mishka let out a small purring sound, and flicked it's large ears against her chin.
Clide tore his gaze away from the girl long enough to sense how uncomfortable Alice was. His eyes narrowed at the boy and he walked closer, grabbing the girl's arm. "If you will excuse us.." He muttered, his dark-ish hair covering one eye. Kali, the steampunk spider, crawled to his other shoulder and seemed to stare from the Emmet to the raven.

Charlotte

Charlotte winced when Clide spoke, expecting a scathing comment, but instead he just said something about excusing them and walked away. She sighed and banged her forehead on the table, causing her to get curious looks from other tables.

Emmet

Emmet whimpered when Clide narrowed his eyes. "A-alright..." He said softly and hugged the mechanical raven to his chest, causing it to squeak in protest.

Alice nodded a silent goodbye before walking back over to her table. She sat Mishka on the table and he looked up at her with huge, apologetic eyes. "It's okay.." She sighed, rubbing the back of her neck. Mishka let out a weird purring sound and rubbed it's ears against her chin. She looked from Emmett, to the Engineers - whom had just took their places at the high table in front.
"Hello my dear students. You have all done well in your grades this week, which makes it very difficult to tell you who is going to Detention tonight. But that will be decided through the rest of the day. So remember. Keep up your school work!" Miss Weaver said, her voice a mixture of mechanics and venom. "And congratulations for not losing a single finger this week! Cheers!"
Clide rolled his eyes - unnoticed from under his bangs. He looked over at the table where Emmett and Charlotte sat, knowing they had nothing to fear for tonight.

Emmet and Charlotte looked up at the engineer's perch, then back at their plates.
Emmet rested his chin on his arms that were folded in front of him. After a few moments, he sighed and petted the mechanical raven.
Charlotte ate her food quietly, looking at all of the worried students faces.

Stinch looked over at some students who were murmuring in the back. He growled something under his breath and waved his hook around. "Shut yer traps before Stinch shuts 'em for ye!"He roared.

Mr.Croach looked down at Stinch and rolled his eyes boredly.

Miss. Rickets smiled down to the students, her eyes scanning over every face. She yawned, staring at Stench and rolling her eyes. She caught Alice's eye and smiled reassuringly to her. "Everyone.. Please make your way to your classes." Miss Weaver said, causing Alice to jump up. "Clide! We have Miss Ricketts first! Lets go!" She said, grabbing Mishka and making her way toward the door.Clide rolled his eyes, picking up Kali and following her.
