Tori felt relief seeing Aer, she knew that he would save her from Sam's arms. But to her surprise he completely misunderstood. His words pierced though her heart. It felt like it was bleeding as it sank to her stomach. Were over. his words echoed in her ears. Creating a piercing, high-pitch sound. Then Tori's eyes overwhelmed with tears as she falls to her knees.

Sam tried to comfort her, but she gave him a dark glare. He backed off and walked away. Tori got up and knew that Aer had calculus for his first period. She slowly peaked in the classroom and saw him. But her heart sank once more and tears welled up in her gray, stormy eyes. Hesitating to come in, instead she ran off crying and sneak out of he school. It wasn't difficult since the teachers didn't really care. Tori didn't know where to go, but her house, well her aunts house. She knew that she was at work and doesn't get home until the evening. Tori walked up to her room and cried on her bed. Her face Was down on a pillow while she tries not to get swallowed by the sadness and hatred she felt on herself.

For the first time in his life, Aer completely blocked the teacher out in class. The teacher asked him multiple times if he was all right, and he just mumbled a quick excuse. No one seemed to care very much, and he felt thankful. Class dragged on and on, and as did the rest of the day. He didn't see Tori the rest of the day, and he wondered if Sam had pounced and asked her out. Had she accepted? He was feeling completely miserable, though he forced himself to continue on with the day. His expression was blank throughout the whole day.

As the bell rang for the final period, Aer was the last one to leave the room. It was Chemistry, and Jennifer had spent the entire time bothering him and asking him stupid questions, to which he had ignored most of them. He was putting his books into his backpack when she approached him again, hands behind her back.

"Aer... I couldn't help but notice that you and Victoria aren't together anymore." She giggled, her feet moving ever so slightly as she stared directly at his face.

He didn't answer, just continued packing up his stuff.

"Anyway... since you're single, who are you going with to prom?" Her voice was quizical as she put her hand on his locker door, leaning her head against it.

He stared at her, lost in thought. "No one." He didn't sound at all friendly, and he was completely oblivious to the other girls that seemed to perk up at this news.

"Oh! Would you like to go with me, then?" Jennifer asked, eyes bright.

Aer swallowed, about to say no. Then he stopped as he saw Sam walk by him. He probably was going with Victoria now. For some reason, he felt the need to get back at them for the betrayal he had felt. "Yeah," he said slowly, putting his backpack onto his shoulder. "Yeah.. I'd like that."

Tori knew school was over, she had enough time to compose herself and conjure all her thoughts together. She walked outside and went over to Aer's house. His mother let her in. She said thank you and entered. Sitting on his bed while she waited for him to come home. Her eyes were blood-shot red from all the tears she cried for him. Her body was weak, for she hasn't eaten anything all day nor did she drink anything. But none of those mattered as much as Aer did. She put on some sunglasses to hide her red eyes and she looked down at her feet, waiting for Aer to come.

Aer left them all, and walked the path down from the school. He was eager to get home and barricade himself inside of his room; the only place she wouldn't be able to find him. Why had she done this to him? The thought of Tori made his heart ache, and he sighed, feeling sick with sorrow. He loved her... needed her there with him. And all she had done was go off with someone else. He couldn't believe it. A feeling of pure relief came through him as his house came into view. It was nice to walk inside of the door to his house and know that there, no one would be watching him. The pressure was too much to stand anymore. The thought that she could be in there had never even occurred to him, and when he opened the door to his bedroom, his eyes widened as he laid eyes on her.

He stood there, frozen; unsure if he should feel angry or happy to see her.

Tori smiled as she saw Aer. Then she quickly stood up and held him in her arms. Her eyes were closed and tears were streaming down. "Aer, it wasn't like it looked. I really really wanted to push him away but I couldn't. You know I'm not like that....please understand...I love you and only you. If I need to yell it to the world I will....." she broke down crying, slipping down from their hug to the ground. Placing her face in her hands while she continued to cry. It was a surprise that she still had tears left after earlier. But she would do anything for Aer to believe her.

Tori's heart felt weaker each moment he was away from her. She no longer had the strength to even stand up on both her feet. But if Aer chooses to push her away, then she'll admit defeat and never bother him again. As painful as it will be, she'll respect his decision and hope for the best.

[Cloudsong]

For a moment Aer believed her, and he hugged her back, eyes shut tightly as he held her close. He had missed her so much... The pain he had obviously inflicted upon her was apparent. But then he stopped, releasing her. How could he be so sure that she was telling the truth? there was no real way to know. Though they had been friends for so long, Aer felt as if now something was different; he still felt betrayed. It would never be the same for them... that way. He blinked, reaching down to ruffle her hair, as he always had when they had been.. friends.

And that would be what it would be like now. Now and always. "You don't need to tell it to anyone," he whispered, releasing her and taking a step back. Hurt still stung him like a thorn. "Let's just forget about everything that happened..." His voice trailed off, and he hesitated before holding his hand out for her to shake. "And let's start over." He swallowed. "As friends."

Victoria looked up at him, trails of tears left on her cheek while she looks at him with disbelief. A soft gasp escaped her lips while she shook her head. "No, no." her voice was broken. Standing up, she didn't bother looking at him while she walked passed him and left his house.

Her felt like it was ripped right out of her chest when he said those words. She wiped her cheeks from the tears that trickled down. Then she went to their treehouse and grabbed her surf board. She quickly took her jeans and shirt off then walked to the beach. It was empty due to the hard waves. They were crashing like lightning across the sky. Tori swallowed her tears and rode her surfboard. Paddling through the current, she dove down, deep. To cut through the first wave. Then she saw the second wave looked good. So she turned around and began to padled towards shore. Then she stood up, but she got wiped out. The current was hard while it pushed her deep down. Then she swam up and continued to do the same. Getting wiped out each time.

One of her friend Sarah, saw Tori. A smile came to her known she was back on the board, but the waves her harsh and it wasn't safe to surf. Sarah tries to yell at Tori and tell her to get out but Tori ignored it and tries to drown her sorrows with the waves. Sarah panicked and tan to Aer. "Aer!! Tori's out in the waves and it's killing her! It's not safe and she won't listen!" she yelled at Aer.

Tori continued to try to ride the wave, but nothing came of it other than being wiped out. Her arms and legs were a cut badly due to the corals and some rocks hitting her, but she didn't care. They weren't as painful as the way her heart felt.

Aer collapsed onto his bed as Victoria ran off, feeling horrible with himself. What did he do now? He had only attempted to regain their strong friendship, and she had rejected it.. Silently he sighed, resting his head on the pillow. She's the one who started this whole mess, he thought angrily. What did she want from him, anyway? If she had wanted to be together, then she wouldn't have been with Sam. Although she had made it clear that it was a mistake, he still couldn't find it within himself to believe her.

Someone called out to him, and he slowly rose, approaching his window to look down. He saw Sarah, and the first thing that went through his mind was annoyance; was she coming to bother him like the other girls had? Then he heard her explain about Tori, and his heart skipped a beat. Was she completely out of her mind? He was downstairs and out the door in an instant.

He saw her out on the water, bleeding badly, but still finding it within herself to continue surfing. It had begun to rain hard, and the waves were getting even worse. "Victoria!" he yelled, wading into the water. It was cold and unpleasant, but he forced himself on.

The loud rain trickling on the surface of the ocean made it difficultto hear anything. Tori swims up to the wave once more. But instead her board broke in half and her string around her Anne cut loose. The giant wave swallowed Tori. Pushing her deeper and deeper down the ocean. Tori swam up as fast as she could and managed to get a gulp of air, but another wave cane in causing her to go back down the water. For a few times she tries to break free of the wave frenzy, but she can't.

She's caught between one wave after another. Tori's oxygen was beginning to lack. She barely had enough time to take a deep breath when the next wave comes up. Her broken surfboard floated ashore while she tries to escape these waves.

The only thoughts she could think of was Aer....she made a stupid mistake and she just wish that he couldve forgiven her before it was too late.

[Cloudsong]

Inwardly cursing, Aer plunged into the icy water, swimming strongly towards her. He ducked under the huge waves, looking around desperately for Tori. Where was she? Over and over in his mind he wondered and wondered... why was she out here? Had she turned suicidal? The waves were enough to kill anyone. It took him a long time before he spotted her, fighting off waves, getting weaker and weaker. He took a deep breath before going under again, swimming towards her rapidly.

She was almost unconscious, and he was reminded strongly of the night before, when she had gone out for the first time. He was worried about the blood coming off of her arms and legs. So much blood in the water could attract sharks... Gently taking hold of her, he began to swim towards the shore, trying desperately to get to the shallows before another huge wave came.
