There was once a girl who grew up in the island of hawaii. Her mother was a well-known surfer and she wanted to carry on her legacy. A few years passed and the girl became a prodigy, but fate took a turn into their lives. At the age of 10, she was able to master the waves. One day, she and her mother went out to surf. The beach was empty, they didn't know that a shark was spotted in their area, so they went into the sea obliviously. The shark was aiming for the little girl, but her mother pushed her out of the way and told her to swim. The current flew her back and the next thing she knew, she was washed up on the shore, with a crowd surrounding her.
Ever since then, she never went near the water again. It's been 7 years since the accident and she hasn't touched a surf board ever since. Her best friend, Aer, has been with her since the day they were born and he's been there for her through everything, even trying to encourage her to pursue her forgotten dream.

Victoria is a sweet, kind, immature girl. She's always looking for trouble and loves to be adventurous. Though when it comes to talking about the ocean, she tends to switch personality and completely gets upset about it. Loosing her mother in the accident has traumatized her from touching another surf board again. But the ocean tends to draw her in. At times, she would just seat on the sand and let the water run through her toes, but that's as far as she would go. Any closer, she will remember the incident and loose herself. Other than her tragic life story, she's very friendly and loves to be around people. She loves to make people laugh and enjoy. She's the kind of girl who treasures even the little things in the world.

Appearance: A lanky teenage boy with long blonde hair, and blue eyes. He would be very handsome without his rather large glasses he wears, though most people don't see past that.
Height: 6'1
Personality: Aer is the best friend anyone could ever have, though only one person has ever given him the chance to be that friend, and that is Victoria. To most of the highschool students, Aer is viewed merely as a nerd, and sometimes laughed at. He shrugs the comments off, however, as they don't really bother him. He has a positive view in every aspect, and spends most of his time attempting to convince Victoria to get back into the ocean and surf; to pursue her forgotten dream. He himself is an amateur surfer, though not many people know it. Aer is kind-hearted, and lives for others.
History: His parents lived in Hawaii, and he was as well. Growing up, he spent most of his time out with his best friend, getting into trouble with her in their games. When Victoria's mother died, he felt almost as distraught as she, and spent all of the time he could with her. Since the age of fifteen, he developed feelings for her that were more than friendship, though they never showed, and he intends to keep them at that.

Victoria has fallen asleep on the wooden floor of their tree house. Her and Aer found it deep in the forest when they were adventuring about eight years ago. It was the place Tori felt safe and accepted, where no one was pushing her to start surfing again.

Just the night before, Victoria had a normal day with her aunt, who is her legal guardian at the moment, but during dinner her aunt brought up her childhood memories and began to talk about how great of a surfer she was. She had enough of how everyone keeps on bringing up surfing to her so she ran of from the dinner table and headed straight to the tree house. She hates how people just don't understand how painful it is to even get near the water and how difficult it is to forget about the accident.

It was 8 o' clock in the morning, but Victoria was still sleeping on the floor of the tree house. Her hair was sprawled on the floor while her damp shirt clung, it was raining last night, so she was a little wet.

Aer glanced around the quiet neighborhood, seeing no one about. It was still early out, but he knew that Victoria would be awake. She usually was at this time, and he wanted go and find her so that they could hang out. There was a slight bit of fog tinging the air, making everything around him blurr. Fog didn't bother him at all; it was normal for Hawaii to get such climate in the early mornings. It would always blow out into the ocean as soon as it had come. Having checked the weather for the day, he knew that it was going to be beautiful and sunny. A perfect day for surfing... If Victoria would only just give it another chance... He had tried so many times, though all his attempts to persuade her had been fruitless.

As he reached her house, he reached down and picked up a small pebble from the ground, and tossed it up with quite accuracy at the wood next to the window. It was how he would always call her, rather than just ringing the doorbell. He aunt wasn't very fond of him, he knew, so he didn't want to disturb her at such early morning. When there was no reply; when Victoria didn't open the window, he bit his lip. That was odd... She would always wake up at the sound.

Where could she be, then? Aer turned away from the house, thinking hard. Of course he knew where she would be; in the only place where she felt safe. He padded off towards the forest, knowing she would be in their treehouse.

"Victoria?" he called as he reached the little house in the tree. Nervously he reached up and pushed his glasses up to his eyes. What if she wasn't here?

Victoria slowly rubbed her eyes open, someone seems to be calling her name, but at the moment she wasn't sure if someone was really calling her. The floor was very uncomfortable to sleep in, which made Victoria's body a little bit numb. Pushing herself up from the ground as she sits up and stretches her arms out. There was a thin fog that surrounded the tree house which made her vision a little bit impaired. The scent of the salty sea filled her lungs as she took a deep breath in. The thoughts of what happened last night annoyed her, she didn't know when or how she'll go back to her aunt's place. She figured that her aunt if probably mad at her for being such a stubborn niece.

Tori shrugged the thought and stood up. Slipping her feet inside her flip flops, she went down the little ladder that leaned against the old tree. The third to last step broke as Tori lost her balance and her hand slipped off the stairs of the ladder.

Aer felt himself sigh in relief as Victoria climbed down the steps, then his eyes widened as she lost her balance. Taking a step towards her, he caught her quickly before she fell. "You okay?" he mused, raising an eyebrow as he let her stand by herself. He ran a hand through his blonde hair, glancing over at the broken step. It had been close to breaking for a long time; the steps had been made for them when they were younger, and they had grown... I'll have to fix that, he thought vaguely, his gaze returning to her. "May I ask why you spent the night out here?" he asked lightly, making his tone as bright bright as possible as he realized she looked sort-of subdued; he wanted to raise her mood, for it made him sad to see her suffer. Something had obviously happened to her back at home, for her to run away and spend the night stiffly on wooden boards. He would do everything he could to make her feel better.

To her surprise, someone caught her. She thought she was going to fall on her back, but luckily her best friend was there. Aer has always been the nerd in their school for as long as Tori could imagine. Not many people bothered talking to him or even get to know him. In school, his intelligence tends to cover up his real personality, which is the kind, laid-back kind of guy.

He asked her to why she slept the night in the tree house, but Tori didn't bother asking. She ran her hand through the back of her neck as her long blonde hair draped down her face, almost covering, but leaving a little gap to show her looking down to the ground. Whenever Tori ran away it was always about surfing. Out of all the people, she knew that Aer would understand. He was always there for her whenever she needed it and he'll do everything he can to cheer her up in any way possible. Tori continued to rub the back of her neck while her hair framed her flawless face beautifully. She slowly looked up at Aer and looked at him with her sad gray eyes for a moment, then immediately looked away.

Aer of course understood. Her aunt had obviously said something about surfing that had bothered her. "Tori..." His voice trailed off, and he reached over to nudge gently her shoulder. He hated the sad look in her beautiful gray eyes; they made him feel just as sad as she. With such a bright smile she had, it was a shame that she didn't always use it. "Should I go beat her up for you?" he suggested, trying to lighten her mood. It was funny, because he had never gotten into a fight. Once or twice he had gotten beaten up, but he had never fought back; he hated the idea of fighting. It was a pointless, stupid thing to do. Why cause others pain? It did, however, bother him that someone had caused Tori with pain. "C'mon.. don't give me that look.." His voice trailed off, and he wordlessly pulled her into a hug. It was the only thing he could think of to do at the moment; he just wanted her to be happy again.

A small, quiet laugh managed to escape her lips from Aer's little joke. She hated bothering him for her childish problems, but he always knew how to make her feel better which she really loved. Tori gasped as he pulled her into a hug. A light smile played upon her lips with him being so close to her. She felt safe and secure in his arms with all her problems lifted off her shoulder. Wrapping her arm around his back, also giving him a hug in return. She slowly released their hug and brushed her hair behind her left ear.

"Thank you...." her voice was weak, but she meant it with all her heart. She raised her head up a little bit as her eyes met his, she managed to pull a smile across her face just so he wouldn't worry so much about her. It took a while, but Tori learned to smile even if she's sad. Aer was the only person that truly cared for her and she's more than happy to have him by her side.
