Taylor smiled. "Parker you haven't lost your charm" she said with a smile as they moved it towards the body of water. Parker always knew how to make her feel better.

Hearing a knock on his door, Derek went down and answered it, not thinking it would be anyone harmful. "Hello, sir" he said olitely.

Parker smiled and hopped onto the boat, "Come on! We're burning daylight!"

Taking a deep breath, Markus glared up at Derek, "Just because you're back in town doesn't mean you'll ever get your hands on my wife or my step son." he growled.

Derek sighed. "I can't go say hi to an old friend, and my son? I just got back" he said, trying to be calm.

Markus angrily shook his head, "No, you can't. You weren't there for Lexi when she was pregnant with Shawn, whereas I was. I've been here for her all this time, and where were you? Apparently not rotting away somewhere over seas, unfortunately."

"They made me work an extra 2 years, no ability to call or email or even write letters back home" Derek said, starting to get a little angry. This Markus man was not on his list of friends, that was for sure. "I didn't even know Lexi was pregnant" Derek said quietly.

Markus huffed and rolled his eyes, "Right." he grumbled and turned to leave, "I warned you, so you better back off." he reminded over his shoulder and walked down the driveway.

Derek sighed, turning back around walking into the house, slamming the door. How would he tell Lexi what happened? Although he was sure Markus would tell her. He bit his lip before walking up the stairs.

Before Markus got home, Lexi ran and grabbed the phone and dialed Derek's number from pure memory, praying that he would pick up.

"Hello?" he answered, feeling like if she was caught talking to him. He would get beat up pretty bad by Markus.

Lexi sniffed and spoke softly in a whisper, "Derek? Can..can you take Shawn for just a little while? I don't want him to be here when Markus gets home." and she looked sadly at her clueless son.
