Veronica laughed when Dusk described Kid's reaction to the broken vase, and said, "Well, I suppose he'd prefer somebody who's symmetrical over someone who's not. And you can't really blame him, you know?" She looked over at the young woman who was still eating her meal at an exceedingly rapid rate. "I wonder why Death let Patti be a teacher here- I mean, she seems kind of... childish."

Patti looked up, hearing her name. She waved a slice of pizza at Dusk and Veronica, and called loudly, "Dusk! You and your girlfriend can sit here if you want! I have lots of pizza!" Veronica's face turned the same shade of red as the pepperoni on the handgun's pizza, and she glanced at Dusk before inching away and saying, "We're not- I'm not-" then she turned and walked quickly out of the cafeteria, face and neck still a deep beet red. Patti was quiet for a minute, then called, "Did I say something wrong?"

Veiz overheard Patti and saw Veronica's reaction and almost burst out laughing but instead he just chuckled. Not because he didn't like Veronica, he hardly knew who she was, but it was funny to him because last time he saw her, she had just broken a girls nose, and now she was beat red and practically running out of the cafeteria. He wasn't sure why it was funny but she'd had quite a change in attitude if you asked him.

[Sapphy.]

Dusk shrugged. "Eh, well Dad's always been quite wacky that way. But Patty's good with kids... I guess." He turned to Patty, and when she said all that stuff, he really wanted to take all the praise he had said about Patty back. "Pretty much every word in that sentence was wrong." Dusk answered to Patty. "She's not my girlfriend Patty! She's just my Weapon, and you should stop being so childish!" He said scorningfully, and stood up. He went to get Veronica and appoligise, even though Patty was the one thats suppose to have appoliged.-

"Oh..." said Patti, nodding. Then she cupped her hands around her mouth and yelled loudly at the door, "Sorry Veronica!" Then, conscious clear, she went back to her pizza. She was never sad or embarrassed for long- it was hard to be, when your Meister freaked out about the slightest bit of asymmetry.

Veronica was sitting in a dark corner near the stairs, facing away from the door to the cafeteria. She was hugging her bag close to her chest, trying not to cry with shame. Wonderful, she thought angrily. Now the whole school thinks that Dusk and I are an item.

Dusk walked over to Veronica, and said, in his best Trying-to-be-cheerful voice, "Awe, come on, it's not that bad. People rarely believe Patty anyway." He said, trying to laugh. "Its stupid. Come on, if you want, I'll go in they
re and say we aren't dating or whatever. Its silly Veronica!" He said sternly, but trying to say it in a Blah-his-is-just-another-school-silly-stuffness.-

Veronica looked up at him, violet eyes confused. "But... why? I mean... why would you go in there and say that?" She was trying to find the right question, the one she wanted to hear the answer to. Then she found it- "Why stick up for me? I'm your weapon, not your friend."

[Sapphy.]

Dusk chuckled. "Your my Weapon AND my friend." He corrected. "And I wouldn't let a friend, so cool and collected, just get angry for one silly thing Patty said. So, of course I'd stick up for you silly. Its one of my flaws. I can't bare watch a friend cry. So come on, get up and stop making yourself look like an idiot. You didn't forgot were going to be the best weapon and miester ever, did you? Well, then stop acting like a fool, and put your head high." He said, smiling kindly. That was his knack. He could make a person feel better with sarcassam... Odd knack huh?-

"I'm not crying," growled Veronica, letting go of her bag and standing up. She slung it over one shoulder and glanced at Dusk, brushing a strand of short purple hair out of her eyes. A friend, huh? Well, let's see how long that lasts. Betrayal by the first week, I'd bet. But she didn't say as much out loud, mostly because she fervently hoped it wouldn't happen. All of her thoughts and conflicting pessimism and hopeful optimism boiled down to a few profound words. "Thanks, Dusk."

[Sapphy.]

"No Problem." He answered, walking his way back to the Cafeteria. Anyway, if anyone dared to make fun of him, he could pretty much Pwn them easily, and/or make them into dust particles.... Well, or something like that. He sat down again in a seat in the cafeteria. No one dared speak a word, which was pretty much a good start.-

Veronica slunk back into the cafeteria with her bag, giving everyone in the room a general glare. She went to the counter and got herself a grilled cheese sandwich, then looked around. Patti waved at her, so she went over to sit next to the young woman. "Sorry about that," she said. "But... you do know that you two would be freaking cute together, right?" Veronica blushed again, and didn't answer. "Anyways. Pizza?" She held up the slice she was eating, and again, Veronica shook her head. "Oh, okay. Well, your loss." The handgun went back to devouring the pizza.
