Kensley nodded and then looked at Zander. Zander let her head fall on her knees as she felt eye's burning into her skin. She said,"My mother said I was useless and my step dad told me I was a lost cause and that they both gave up trying to "Help" me." and looked up for a second to see the reaction. She sat up a little and looked at Kensley. She didn't want to ask why he was here but knew it had something to do with pain. Her eyes were still tear red from when she ran away just that morning.

Tessa frowned, "I'm sorry... I shouldn't have asked." She said softly and looked at her uneaten fish, she took a bite and held her upper arm feeling the long scar that was made by her drunken father.

Zander said,"No it's not your fault. So why did you guys run away?" she asked not to anyone inperticular.

Kensley ate his part of the fish hungerly and finished in moments. He then said,"I was beaten by my father when he was drunk. Then He killed my mom who was trying to save me and went after me. But I got away from that sick Bas****." and smiled proud of himself. But he missed his mom so.

Jason nodded, "our father was a horrible drunk, our mther died during birth and he blamed us for it. He would abuse us both but I would take the punches for Tessa, one day I found he really hurt her so I packed both our things and left." He said simply, although his eyes swirled with pain and sadness.

Tessa wrapped her arms around her legs and looked away, hiding the tears the sprung to her eyes when he heard her brothers words.

Kensley set a hand gently onto Tessa's back and patted her softly. He said,"it's alright. It's not your fault and you know it." not knowing what to really say.

Zander said,"Oh. Im sorry. Maybe I shouldn't be complaining. Your stories are so much worce." and looked at Jason with sad eyes. She felt bad for him but wouldn't give pitty. Only hope. So she stood up and said,"Here. You guy's can have it im not hungery." and tryed to hand her side of the fish to whoever.

((aw bye!!))Tessa looked at Kensley and gave him a small smile, not saying a word for fear shed break out sobbing.
Jason looked at Zander, "it's fine, we've all been through a lot lately." He said and took the fish she was offering, he placed it in a small poorly sewn together leather pounch. "Gotta save what food we can." He said half to himself.

Zander nodded and said,"I think I'm going to take a nap. It's been a long day." and looked toward the tents.

Kensley nodded and looked at the sky. He said,"I'll stay up to guard the camp if you want?" and looked at Jason and then back to Tessa.

Jason nodded, "sure that would be good, just keep under shelter it looks like those clouds will burst with rain at any moment." He said looking at the sky, another fork of lightning lit up the dark sky.

Tessa jumped at the flash of lightning, "I think i will too," she said agreeing with Zander.

Zander nodded and went to her tent. She sighed when she got away from the flashing lightning and shivered at the thought of being all alone in a big tent like this at a time like this. But she would have to deal. She sighed again as she layed down and pulled some covers over her shivering body. Then she whispered,"I love you mom and dad." as she closed her eyes trying so hard to ignore the roaring thunder and flashing lightning. She thought of happyer times and tryed falling asleep.

Kensley nodded and said,"Im going to stay near the tree's. They'll be better for blocking the wind and seeing." and frowned again as he stood up and walked away.

Jason nodded, he staid by the fire and kept it alive while others slept and Kensley guarded. He looked up at the sky and linked as a raindrop hit his face, no sooner then a minute later the rain started to fall. He went over to a small tree nearby the bonfire, staying out of the rain but still with the fire.

Tessa crawled into her bed-like cot and pulled the blankets up to her neck, she had thrown a few more logs in the wood heater. She laid in bed awake, listening to the rain on the tent.
