"You know," said Sonja, looking at the bowl of brownie batter, "I do kinda want to see Ben and Arlais hallucinating with blue moss. Maybe only put it in half the brownies- that was we can have some, too."

"Good idea. Let's bake!" Mark said.

Sonja grinned, then started pouring the brownie batter into a pan. "Should we put the moss in before we bake them, or after? I don't know what that stuff might do if exposed to high heat."

[Miss Captain Sexy]

Mark thought about it. "Put it in with the batter. The moss has obviously been exposed to high heat anyways, since it live under a volcano."

"Ah," said Sonja, holding up a forefinger, but that moss has only been growing there since sometime in the early 1800's, long after this volcano had gone extinct. It might heighten the potency, causing an overdose and death. It also might explode. Which would be awesome."

[Miss Captain Sexy]

"Actually, this volcano is dormant, it's most recent eruption only 70 years ago." Mark said. "And yes, an explosion would be awesome." he smiled.

"Well," said Sonja, "How about we do a little experiment? We'll back one fourth of the brownies with a little moss, one fourth with a lot of moss, and one half with no moss at all. Then we'll add a little moss and a lot of moss later, and eat the brownies ourselves before bringing them to a party." Her glasses flashed as the archaeologist grinned. "If we die, it's no big deal, right? It would all be in the sake of science."

"For science!" Mark said, pushing his fist into the air. "That's a very good idea. You know you are smart right?"

Sonja shrugged, and grinned. "I try." Then she took the jar of moss she had collected and a teaspoon, carefully measuring out the moss in tiny bits, then larger ones, onto half of the brownies. The others she left plain. When she was finished, she screw the cap back on the jar of moss and looked up at Mark. "Why do you ask?"
