Azzy started humming a song she remembered from when she was younger. Her parents used to sing it to her when she was being fussy, so she thought maybe it would help Charlotte.

"Daddy, I want to go see the pretty lady," Charlotte said in her soft voice. "What pretty lady?" Azzy asked, looking at Charlotte quizically.

"She's over there," Charlotte pointed to the trees. "She looks like you, mommy."

"I don't think so," Azzy said. "If it were Akita, she would say so. But she doesn't know this person..." Azzy thought for a second, and then fear flashed over her face. "No no no no no..." she said quietly. Charlotte started to squirm, wanting to go see the lady standing in the woods.
