Characters Name: Riley Janet White
Characters Age: eighteen
Characters Gender: Female
Personality: Riley is a rebel. It seems she prone to getting herself into trouble, and yes, she is a bit of a klutz. Riley hates to take orders, and be forced to do anything she doesn't want to. She will put up a fight and wont hesitate. She isn't afraid to throw a punch, and she will if she has too. Riley is also quite sensitive, and is good at showing her feelings. Its easy to tell what she's feeling by the way she's acting or looking. Riley also hates being bored or having nothing to do- and doesn't like being contained. She likes to be out and about, or being with friends. If the person in front of her won't say anything- then she will, and she'll get them to talk. If they won't talk to her, then she wont shut up- and this can also be a weakness for her, and very annoying at points. When the time comes then she will be serious and she's always thinking of ways to entertain herself- Even if that means getting up to play her electric guitar at 2 at night, when everyone's asleep.
A Brief History: Riley's past has been rather unusual. Her mother has passed away of heart problems, and because of this- her life has turned around. Her father is never around, and when he is, there's always a beer bottle in his hand. He's always out, leaving Riley on her own. Her Sister is in college and comes around for visits only when she is able too. Riley's basically on her own now, and fears that her father is going to go and get himself into a crash or something because of his drinking. Her father developed the habit after her mother passed away. Because of this, Riley has turned inside out. She's prone to getting in trouble, and doesn't like to take orders. Though she likes to be with friends, she is rather lost and often, that inner anger leads her into trouble.

Character's Name: Mitchell Adam Blake
Character's Age: 21
Character's Gender: Male
Personality: Mitchell, who prefers to be called Mitch by those that aren't killed first, is quiet and secretive. He remains a mystery to most people, even his fellow assassins. He isn't much of a talker, but will answer most questions people ask him, as long as they don't involve his past - he guards it carefully. He is easily irritated and isn't one to have much fun. He is very determined in everything does, especially his job as an assassin. Although he is cold on the outside, he has emotions - people just have yet to tap into them.
A Brief History: Mitch was the second son born to a normal family with parents that loved him more than they loved each other. That said, they were divorced when he was fourteen. Mitch stayed with his strict mother while his brother was taken by his laid-back dad. They moved to the other side of the country and Mitch never saw either of them again. He was popular in high-school and, although he could have dated any girl in the school easily, he stuck with a girl named Felicia for four years, beginning when he was fifteen. Just out of high-school, though, she died in a car crash. Several positive pregnancy tests were found in her bathroom afterwards. Mitch could find nothing that eased the pain, so he became an assassin. The pure adrenaline that accompanies the 'hunt' distracts him.

Clear clouds seemed to turn darker as Riley ran. She ran as if she was running for dear life- and in fact, she was. Water splashed and flew up into the air, drenching her shoes and black skinny jeans.Her neck was dripping in sweat and her chest heaved from breathing unevenly. Her breath was escaping her as she ran now, and her pace was not the same. She'd been running for a while and needed to catch her breath, however, stopping would probably be the worst choice. Her legs were screaming at her to stop and let go, to stop running, but all she could do was slow down. She couldn't stop unless she was sure Mitchell wasn't behind her.

Riley had little time to think, and it was like time was leaving her behind, racing away so fast. There wasn't any time. She was panting, and tired, her legs screaming at her to stop. She looked over her shoulder, sweaty and horribly tired. No one. No one was there. He was gone. No one was following her. This gave her a moment to try to think- though her mind was so mixed up at the moment, she still couldn't think straight. She looked around her, a look of shock engulfing her face. Her coppery hair fell over her face and shoulders, and her arm gripped her stomach. She was sweaty and felt as if she would pass out any second. She was panting, obviously tired and frustrated, and of course, scared.

After a moment of catching her breath, a thought occurred to her which made her feel quite a bit more frustrated. That Mitchell wasn't gone. He would probably run out any second, maybe planned something? This scared her even more. She couldn't move any farther anymore however. All she could do was fall backwards against a tree and rest her arms against it for support. She felt as if she'd fall, but leaning against the tree gave her some support. Now she was just plain scared and sweaty. There was really nothing she could do at the moment- except wait.

Mitch followed the girl at a leisurely pace. The rain that was going to fall soon would wash away the tracks, he knew, but what did it matter? It would only lengthen the hunt that he lived for. Not by much, he had to admit. He was an assassin. And they had their ways of gathering information about a person's whereabouts. Even if this girl - Riley White - were to get help from the government in an attempt to disappear from the face of the earth, chances were that Mitch would find her. He had become an assassin only two years ago, but had rapidly climbed to become one of the most successful assassins out there.

The deep footprints left in the mud were easy to read and Mitch smiled at the girl's foolishness. Running was never the answer. Hiding somewhere with a gun, perhaps, would increase her chances. But in the end, she would be dead. There was really nothing she could do, he supposed. He would be just as terrified if people were hunting him. But he was the hunter, not the prey, and he didn't have to worry about that. Feeling the adrenaline that kept him from his memories ebbing away, Mitch picked up the speed.

He heard her breathing before he saw her. She was breathing heavily, clearly exhausted. As far as he could tell, she was immobile. She was finally giving up to the fact that she was going to die no matter what. But Mitch, being the assassin that liked to stretch things out more than was necessary, was a bit disappointed. Nonetheless, he slowed his pace before walking calmly into her view. "Hello, Riley," he greeted with a cruel smile.

Riley was out of breath, and slowly, slowly gaining it back again. She knew it. She knew she should've kept running, but yet she didn't. She had to be an idiot and decide to stop instead. How could she even think of stopping? She knew Mitch was out there, she knew it. Suddenly a familiar voice faded through her mind,, making her stop breathing for a second. Lifting up her head to look around, her eye caught Mitch shortly. She might as well be dead. How long had this fight even gone on for. She'd escaped his grasp a bunch of times, but not this time. This time it was almost like she wanted to be dead. Might as well be dead anyway.

His voice was cold enough to break the branches of the tree behind her. Mitch was right in front of her, and yet she stayed. She iddn't move, and she knew she was making the wrong move. Her mind was just so lost in confusion, that she couldn't even think straight yet. All she thoguht of now were sarcastic remarks. She was about to die anyway.

"Mitch."She muttered with extreme sarcasm leaking through her voice. Her hazel- green eyes glared daggers at Mitchell. Her coppery hair was ruffled and fell over her shoulders and face, covering her forehead and face. Her teeth were clenched, almost as though she was just waiting for him to whip out some weird looking knife. "So you got me. What are you gonna do now..." she mused the last part almost questioningly... mockingly.

[Gene]

Mitch's face was still twisted in that odd, unnerving smile. What was he going to do? It almost made him laugh. Had he ever let a target escape before? No. This girl was lucky enough to have escaped death a handful of times, but he had finally won. Now he had to deal with the messy affair of killing her.

"It's been fun," Mitch commented. "I'm going to kill you now, Riley, unless you have a better idea. Because I don't believe you do, you get to tell me - which way would you like to die? I've got knives, poison, guns...You name it."

His first statement wasn't a lie. This hunt had been one of the more enjoyable ones he had gone on with plenty of escapes and heated chases. Admitting so out loud was his way of saying thank you. Thank you for letting him escape from his life that much longer than most people. Letting her choose her death was like a bonus. Besides, when she died, she wouldn't have to be constantly on her toes. Perhaps it would be a form of relief.

Riley's hands slid slowly down to her pocket almost like she was going to freeze up and stand in one place. She felt the pockets of her black skinny jeans. Nothing. Of all the times she usually carried around some kind of knife- this time, she didn't have anything. All she ahd were her fists and feet. That's all. Another thought occurred to her. "Well, poison kills slowly, while a knife would be fun to stab with. Guns are boring. They only last a short while." she explained mockingly, with a hint of sarcasm in her voice. She mgiht as well have a little fun before she died.

His dark figure was taller than her, so she was staring up at him, glaring daggers right at him. She still felt like her gut was about to explode. There was a big pit in her stomach and she felt like she was pushing every single one of her limits. On second thought, she wasn't pushing them- she had already passed them.
