Mayia was rather silent until she felt the weight of something on her shoulders. A... A jacket? She thought, looking up at Elliot with a bit of surprise in her eyes. She would have asked why he had done it, but when Elliot spoke again, that left Mayia with nothing to say. There was a faint, light smell of lemon clinging to the jacket for some reason, but it was comforting, and the warmth it brought to her was kind yet unfamiliar. She was starting to think that Elliot wasn't so bad, since he didn't try to force her to agree with his kindness. He just acted accordingly... She gently held the jacket in place, seeing how worn out this jacket was. It must have been important to be this worn and not have been thrown away yet. Before Elliot could get to far from earshot, she looked up at him with a soft smile and said, "Thank you, Elliot..." in a grateful tone that was just loud enough to hear over the gentle rushing of the waves against the sand below. She then turned back towards the water for a second more, giving thought to the idea of going back inside. There was always the chance of the jacket getting damaged one way or another, and even if Elliot did give it to her without any hesitation, she wanted to be more considerate of him like he had been for her. It had been a while since she had ever thought about someone else like this. She would usually take care of animals that were not human.
It just took a second more of thought before she stood up and got off of the rock. It was unstable. She really didn't want to go inside, but it was evident that Elliot worried just a little about her. She was able to catch up with Elliot and took the coat from her shoulders, holding it out to him. "... But I don't think I can even borrow this. It seems important." She said quietly, looking up at Elliot with a bit of understanding. Mayia had her own little treasure that hung around her neck. One of Hunter's fangs. It had fallen from his mouth when he was beaten by those thugs. She wore under her clothing rather than outside. She would hate to lose it.
