[Play With Fire]

Zero felt lost. He knew every day he was moving toward level E, closer and closer. In the middle of class he left without a word. By then, everyone was used to it. But did they know why? He had had the same blood urge for some time, and he was afraid that he wouldn't be able to control it in class. He got as far away as he could before he collapsed against a wall; breathing heavy. He strained against the pain, and clenched his teeth. His fangs bit into his lips, and he licked it away. He savored the sweet taste of blood, and had a craving for it even more.

Yagari didn't stop Zero from leaving. He could tell by his eyes what was happening. He continued on the lecture for a while, trying not to worry, but finally had to stop.
"Ok everyone. I'm dismissing class early, but you have to stay here. This is a study hall as of now. If I catch anyone out of class, you'll be in alot of trouble. Got it?" He said, then left the room and tracked Zero. He saw him, leaning against a wall, his eyes burning red.
"Zero!" He said, kneeling down. "Zero, are you alright?" He asked, but he already knew the answer. Then Yagari realized Zero wasn't paying attention to him. He was staring into space. Yagari touched Zero gently on the shoulder, hoping what he thought would happen; wouldn't.

Zero couldn't control himself. The moment Yagari put his hand on his shoulder he grabbed it with a steel grip. He nibbled it with his fangs, and just barley got a flow of blood. To him it was very good, and he couldn't stop.

It wasn't very painful, but hurt enough to make him want to shoot Zero. He took out an anti-vampire gun and prepared to shoot; if he had to. He didn't dare try to take his hand away. A vampire could easily break bones, and if he tried to get away it would just make Zero angry. The level E Zero. Yagari watched Zero, who seemed to ignore Yagari, besides his bleeding hand. Then Yagari realized that was the hand he had cut the other day. The day when Zero had so obviously wanted the blood. Yagari knew the wound was much wider, and had a better blood flow. The muscles in his hand stiffened from blood loss, and he soon couldn't move his fingers. 'How much longer before he goes for my neck?' He asked himself bitterly.

Zero wasn't Zero anymore. He let go off his blood grip on Yagrai's hand, but still held it firmly. His eyes wandered to his neck. The vampire part of Zero knew that Yagrai probably couldn't move his arm anymore. He also knew he was probably going to feel faint after awhile. He sliced through the arm of Yagari's shirt, just below the shoulder, and started to drink blood from there. If Yagari fought any longer he would suffer from spasms and pain, so much pain. He would ultimatly paralyze himself. Zero could already feel the muscles in Yagari's arm twitching.

Yagari couldn't feel his arm anymore. The muscles where Zero was drinking were twitching. Yagari couldn't make himself shoot Zero. Finally, he dropped his gun, but not on purpose. The feeling in his other arm was slowly disappearing. He knew he was going to be paralyzed soon, so he went ahead and did what he knew wouldn't help at all.
"Zero, listen to me! You are not a monster, no matter what you do. You need to stay strong...and stop. Zero." He said so only Zero could hear. Yagari bowed his head, accepting what ever was going to happen. 'Don't make me reget...' The words echoed through his head. He couldn't help but think how dark it was, to know he could die at the fangs of Zero, his own pupil. It seemed so twisted he couldn't believe it. A dark pain racked him, but he didn't show any desire to follow it. He stood stock still, accepting it in silence.

Zero lifted his head, blood dripping from his mouth. The whole left side of Yagari's shirt was drenched in his own blood. He prepared to sink his teeth into the neck. His fangs had pierced the skin, and he had had a few gulps of blood when something came over him. He pulled away; he was awake again. He looked in horror at Yagari. What had he done?

Yagari felt fangs slipping into the tissue of his neck, then pull away suddenly. The grip on his hand vanished, and he looked up to see Zero. He seemed to be in shock, and Yagari knew he wasn't the only one. He was starting to feel faint. Blood was streaming from Zero's bite marks. The left and back side of his shirt were drenched in his blood. His whole torso was paralyzed.
"Zero..." He said. Yagari wanted Zero to know he wasn't mad at him. He understood.

Zero met Yagari's eyes.
"I'm so sorry Master. I....I couldn't control myself. You should have shot me." Zero said, bowing his head in shame. Then he realized what state Yagari was in. He got to his feet, picked up Yagari's dropped gun, then helped Yagari to his feet.
"I'm so sorry." Zero apologized.

"Its ok...." Yagari started, but pain shot up his arm and he had to stop to take a deep breath. "Zero." He finished, closing his eyes. He let Zero lead him. He didn't care. He was so tired... He looked up sleepily. For a moment he thought he would collapse. His legs gave out and Yagari stumbled. He grimaced, leaning against Zero.
