Zero looked away.
"Nevermind. Do you ever regret....anything you have done?" To Zero, his question seemed childish, but he knew it was a question Yagari hated to be asked. And Zero knew if Yagari was uncomfortable, he would walk away without answering or shrug and avoid the subject. Yagari was always so brave and thoughtful, but even Zero knew he was uncomfortable with things. Zero remembered what Yagari had told him once; "Vampire hunters are thought to be emotionless and feelingless, but that isn't true. We just have different fears than everyone else, and they don't understsand how or why we react to that fear. Remember this Zero: everyone is different. Everyone is weak and strong in their own way, and they have their own fears." Zero couldn't tell what his fears were. Maybe he feared Yuki seeing his true, monsterous self. He didn't know. Zero didn't even know what Yagari feared. He almost wanted to ask him...

Ygari was surprised by Zero's question, and he knew Zero knew him well enough to know he was uncomfortable on the topic. That he would rather not speak about the things he regretted. Yagari looked at his hands, and wiped away the blood.
"I regret alot of things, but none of them has to do with you, Zero, my stupid pupil. The only things I regret are secret, and I wish that they will be kept secret. It has no concern to you, and it seems you along with others are more interested in the personal questions, Zero." Yagari said quietly, his voice containing an icy calm.

Yuki listened to their conversation, eyes wide.

Zero knew Yagari would reply like that. He had asked before.
"What do you fear?" He asked, looking at Yagari.

Yagari couldn't help but mess around a bit.
"The only thing I fear is losing my other eye, and if you make me lose it I'll regret ever saving your life in the first place." Yagari said, looking at Zero.

Zero knew Yagari was messing around, but he couldn't help but feel mad.
"I don't need you to protect me, Yagari!" He snapped, then he realized that this was the first time he had called him actual Yagari, not 'Master'.

Yagari didn't mind that Zero hadn't shown respect in that instant. It didn't matter to him.
"Go get ready for class, Zero. And take the girl with you, unless she wants to speak to me. I'll be in the classroom....if you want to talk later." Yagari said, looking where Yuki was hiding. He could still tell Zero had blood on his mind, and Yagari set his hand in his pocket and the other on his gun strap. Just in case.

Yuki stepped out of her hiding place and bowed to Yagari.
"I'm sorry. I'll return to my dorm now." She walked back to her dorm, every now and then looking back at Yagari and Zero. She hoped he would be ok alone. Yuki really wanted to trust Yagari, but she didn't now if she could trust him. Not yet, anyway.

Zero looked away.
"Fine." He said stubbornly, walking away. Another urge struck him while walking, and he had to stop to rest. He fought it, but this one was stronger than usual. He grimaced, then continued to walk.

Yagari watched Zero walk away, then went on to the classroom. He leaned against the wall, breathing as evenly as he could. He flexed his arm, which was sore. Yagari walked back to his room, changed, then went to the classroom and sat down. He started to think, and then he fell asleep. Yagari dreamed about the woman and Zero and Ichiru and losing his eye. The eye dream was a reaccuring one. Recently he had dreamed about it almost every night. Soon he had fallen to insomia. He was afraid of sleeping. After a specific, realistic dream he had woken in a cold sweat. The flesh under his eye patch had been burning, and the scar running from his forehead to his right eye itched. He had refused sleep after that. He was brave enough to face vampires, but this nightmare he couldn't face. Not yet. Yagari woke up, glad to see no one was in the room yet. He sat up and tried to do work, but he failed and his mind drifted back to his dream; which was slowly fading away.

Zero entered the class early, looking at Yagari with obvious dislike. Zero knew Yagari would accept his feelings toward him. That was the way it was. Zero took his seat and started to think. He started to draw pictures on his notebook. He didn't know what they were off until everyone started arriving. They were of them.

Yagari had started to notice that he worried, much to much, about Zero. He shook his head, waiting until everyone took their seats.

Yuki took her seat, then looked up at Zero. She smiled at him. Then she realized she hadn't spoken to him since the previous evening. She was wondering how he was feeling. Nothing seemed the same anymore. She looked down at her notebook, and thought about everything that had happened.
