Introduction
You pant as you run, the only thought in your head is 'Run...just run.' You don't know why, you just know you have to run. Your hands and legs are bleeding from the thorns and branches that have scraped you when you were running. The terrain has changed dramatically from since you started your trek. Once long plains, now you dodged the trees in a forest, following a path leading into a deep canyon. The moon is full, lighting the road ahead of you. Finally you have to stop, you have to take a breath. Then you hear it. The sound of dogs barking, the sound of boots hitting the ground. They are following you. You force yourself to run. You feel like prey, being hunted. Your first thoughts are to just give up, but your legs won't stop.
Then your slipping, falling, crashing. You can't feel anything, and the last thing you remember is looking up at a full moon. The whispering of voices, and the quiet crackling of a fire. The heat on your face. Someone presses a water bottle to your lips and you drink slowly, the water washing over your dry throat. Then you fall asleep.
^
You wake up, blinking your eyes to block out the bright sunlight. You're laying on a bed inside a small room, shafts of sunlight streaming through the open window onto your face. Your head hurts, and the heady smells of summer flowers make you sneeze, making it hurt worse. You look around slowly, wondering where you are. Then it all comes rushing back. The chase, the fall. The people. Them.
You slowly sit up, then stand, leaning against the wall so you can balance. You open the door, and walk out into a brightly lit hallway. There are no doors besides the one you had come out of. At the end of the hallway is a staircase, and you slowly make your way down it into a strangely gloomy front room. This place seems strange to you, and you can't help but poke your nose around were it doesn't belong.
"Yes, what do you want?" A brisk man askes you when you enter a room. You blink at him, and his grim expression turns to a smile. "So you are the new one here." He said, standing up from his chair. He took off his reading glasses, then offered his hand to you. You shake it. The new one, and where is here? You wonder. The man smiles again. "I am Dr. Logan, the doctor for The Animal Kingdom. That was a nasty fall you had." He said, then laughed. "You don't know what I'm talking about, right? Well let me explain." He said, pulling up a chair for you. You sit down, and he starts his story.

History
You are now in The Animal Kingdom, a place for the supernatural, and superunnatural. This safe haven is for those who possess special powers, and know what to do with them. This kingdom is set against the humans, who believe they should be the only breed to rule Earth. The Animal Kingdom is named for the original breed, Shape-shifters, who started the great war against the Humans.
You believe you can help, and as you hid your powers in the human world, they soon found out. It was this chase that led you to The Kingdom, who accepted you as their own kind.
^
The Animal Kingdom is a free standing "country" in the North Eastern section of the Americas'. They have their own government, led by a King/Queen. They also have their own army, which is in constant war with the Humans. The country is well protected, and has a strong hold over it's land and people. The Kingdom has few alliances, but even fewer enemies, such as the Ethepians and Humans.
^
The territory consists of rivers, deserts, forests, mountains, and plains. Has a wide variety of wildlife, and protects what wildlife that isn't "native" to the Kingdom. As the Kingdom consists of Shape-shifters, the regular animals (as not "native") are the basic food source.
