Bette is, above all, absolutely true to herself. She's not the slightest bit self-conscious and the face she puts forward every day is her true face. Unlike many other girls who hide behind layer upon layer of makeup and starve themselves to be attractive, Bette sees her exotic features and generous curves as something to be proud of. She loves her body and isn't afraid to flaunt it.
With her friends, Bette is the mothering one of the group. Her fiery personality draws others in, but she always takes care of her friends and wouldn't betray them. She has a bit of a short temper and own't stand to have anyone hurt her friends' feleings. Bette sees her outgoing, forward personality as a "filter-" people who want to get close to her will like her, and people who won't like her won't bother getting to know her.
Since Bette's greatest pet peeve is people who lie, she doesn't hang out with the popular kids- cheerleaders who talk behind each others' backs and jocks who act falsely affectionate just to get in the aforementioned cheerleaders' pants. It should be recognized, however, that Bette's definition of lying is different from most peoples'. She has no problem with people who tell untruths- little fibs about things like where they're going, why they missed a homework assignment, etc. What she can't stand is people who lie to themselves and others- presenting themselves as something different from what they are and spreading falsehoods to damage peoples' reputations.
History:
Bette lived with her divorced mother, a college professor named Anna, in a small Wisconsin town near the capital. When Bette was fifteen, Anna took a sabbatical and brought Bette to Phoenix. It was supposed to only last for one year, but soon Anna fell in love with a man from the city, Lucas , and promptly moved the family to Phoenix, where Anna and Lucas live in a tiny apartment and Bette attends JWA.

Personality:
Quiet, timid, and unassuming, Olivier at first seems like a totally unremarkable boy. Although he'll socialize if someone talks to him, Olivier never seeks out company. Instead, he prefers to politely remain in the background, listening to the conversation and very rarely adding a few words of his own opinion. He'll help others out and, being very generous, gives as much as he can when someone needs something, but often does so silently, with only a quick smile. Many people just assume he's a total introvert.
This, however, is completely incorrect. At home, he's a brave, dashing joker of a boy. In Paris, his dashing looks and bad-boy personality ensure that there's no shortage of girls vying for his attention; at his school, he could have any girl he wants, and is at the absolute top of the social ladder. However, Olivier doesn't speak English well, and the culture shock of California is enough to put him in a shell. He doesn't know the language, people, or customs of the school, and that's enough to make anyone shy- even the dashing prince of Paris. It'll take some time and experience to draw Olivier out of his shell.
History:
Olivier was always a good student at his school in Paris, France. Despite acting out in class, he always got top grades- in every class except English. Still, his grades were good enough that he was offered a chance to do a foreign exchange program at JWA. He quickly accepted.
