(The Demons)
The crisp, pungent scent of sage wafted on the air. An old, dusty hotel that had been broken into many more times than one, was once again occupied by unwelcome visitors. The demonic incantations of Armallo rung in the empty place, his face lit by the fire he seemed to be speaking to. Past the blood-stained rug untouched by police, past the place the owner was murdered by none other than Amethyst's siblings, the two demons Armallo and Esther sat.
The candle's flame rose up as soon as Armallo uttered the last word, the finale to his hellish mutterings. Esther snickered wonderfully, in a way she hadn't in a very long time, a twisted cackle that only someone who knew their evil intensions could muster. The flame jumped from the candle wick, overtaking the carpet in a hungry inferno until it met the end of the chalk-drawn circle.
It rose higher into the air, and as what seemed to be eyes made of golden flame appeared, Esther ceased her laughter. The newest Demon, Armallo's supposed "Older Brother" appeared from the ashes, in all of his frightening glory. Wretch took a single step from the circle, and all at once the flame dissapeared, leaving a particularly singed carpet and a melted-down white candle behind.
"Armallo!" Wretch cheered, picking up the soul-stealing demon in a loving embrace, as if the killer were a two year old. His useless wings flapped to show an outburst of emotion as Wretch held the disgusted Armallo out in front of him. "It's about time you summoned me for a visit, kid. So how've you been-" Armallo cut him off right there, slightly struggling in his grip.
"I'm not a kid, and this isn't a visit. I'm having a.. Vampire problem," He admitted with a shrug, looking over at Esther, who seemed delighted to have a new addition to their group. "I need you to get the family together. I thought we could take over the town, or maybe the world if you're not too busy." Wretches' wings flapped again in thought, and he picked at his winding horns. "Well, gee kid. That's a pretty tall order. But for you.."
He trailed off with a smile, shrugging. "Sure. The smell of sage 'outta bring some of our active members of the Overworld here, don't'cha think? We'll wreak some havoc together, we will. Just like one happy family, huh 'Mallo?" Wretch hugged the demon once more, making the smaller man sneer, showing his row of needly teeth.
