By now, Amethyst was starting to hallucinate. She climbed hill after hill of sand, waves of heat bouncing off them like a trampoline. Every so often, she would stumble over to some place she thought was a camp, but only turned out to be an illusion. Then, as she was taking yet another swig of her liquor-Which had actually been empty for the past half hour- In her mind, she thought she heard, "There she is! Get her!"
Amethyst sped across the sand as fast as her short legs could take her, running from the invisible bouncers. Her forehead was soaked with sweat, and her breathing was even heavier by the time she reached a real camp."Let me in!" She shrieked in her thick German accent, pounding feebly on the nearest door. "For God's schake let me in!"
