Whyspr sighed, looking away."Alright." She flapped her wings, and rose into the air slowly. She never looked at him while she flew past, catching speed. She flew to her cave, and landed on the ledge outside. She looked around at the walls and floor. She took a deep breath, and entered, settling down.

"That`s it. She`s gone."

Solan let himself fall to the ground and lay there, unmoving in the bloodsoaked turf. Blood as far as he could see...The taste of it was on his lips. The blood he needed to survive. He was a demon, a demon in mind and body. How many had he murdered? How many more had he hurt? But this was his path, after all. This was his fate. To destroy, to kill...he couldn`t even just /die/. A thousand years and more he had walked the weary realm, and he hadn`t even aged. Time could not destroy him. Force couldn`t kill him.

Arygn had watched it all. He had been flying by, when he spotted the two dragons. He watched the fight, and smiled. He landed on the ground after the she dragon had left. He watched the other closely, wondering who-or what- he was. Arygn smirked, and saidd with a haughty tone,"So, she think you ugly?" He loved to make other's feel terrible. It was his life. He always flirted with the she dragons, and made the males run with fear, or leave in disgrace.

"I don`t give a damn what she thought. It`s that she got away that`s good enough for me," Solan muttered back, as indifferently as he could manage. He sat up slowly, eyes narrowing as he saw this new dragon. Instinctively, he wanted to retake dragonform, but he was still too weak. He didn`t have a choice but to remain in this form...for now. He knew the fastest way to regain his strength other than time was to drink the spilled blood...but somehow that sickened him at the moment. So he had to put up with this dragon that apparently knew what was going on, and who almost had the same attitude as a certain half-dragon he knew.

Wonderful.

"What do you want?" he questioned, unable to put any force into his tone. His voice sounded flat and lifeless instead.

Aygn laughed."She got away? She scared of you?" The dragon rolled his eyes, and took to the air. He he found Whyspr's scent, and found her cave easily.He landed on the ledge, and stuck his head in."Hello?"

Whyspr looked at him, then her eyes widened. She hissed."Get away from me, you rat!"

"Thats a little harsh darling." Arygn chuckled, flicking his tail. Whyspr glared at him, pushing past and taking off. Arygn followed close behind. Whyspr landed on the ground, near a small pond. She turned away as Arygn landed next to her. He gently nibbled on her neck, but Whyspr growled and lashed out a paw, scratching his face. Arygn grunted, then sighed."Fine, but you will learn to like me, darling."
"Not while I'm still standing." Whyspr hissed. Arygn shook his head, then rose up, and vanished into the distance.

And then he was gone. Just like that. A few moments passed, then Solan reluctantly got up. He very much would have liked to stay there for a while longer, but if any humans returned to the scene of the rout now, he wasn`t sure he`d be able to stop himself again. Not bothering to try changing form, Solan walked aimlessly into the trees, knowing that sooner or later he would leave the she-dragon`s territory and thus be out of her life for good.

What he didn`t expect was that he`d find her again.

He came upon the pond just as the Red left, his scent still lingering next to the water. "Whyspr...didn`t you fly away?" he queried, his voice inflectionless.

Whyspr sighed deeply, and layed down, laying her head on the soft grass. She looked at him out of the corner of her eye."I couldn't." She murmered, looking away. Her eyes were clouded, and she felt memories flood her mind. She shuddered, her scales rattling.

Instinctively he reached out a hand to her, feeling more than seeing the haunted wings of dark memories beating at her mind like so many ravens blocking out the light of the sun. But he didn`t touch her, didn`t get any closer. Didn`t even try. What could he say? He should have known better than to talk to her in the first place, than to follow her to her den. He wasn`t made for interacting with others, be they humans, dragons, elves, or others. He should have turned tail the second he`d seen the glimmer of her radiant moonlight-colored scales and moved on, escaped her territory while he still could.

And something was still keeping him here...remorse? Regret? Who knew?

Whyspr gave a shrug."He would of found me....and.." Her voice trailed off, her eyes looking distant. She laid down, laying her elegent head on her paws. She was glad that Solan was here, even though she should of drove him away already. She also wondered why he was still here, but she didn't care. She felt better in his presence, like a a warmth that started in the heart.

He`d faced down scores of Hellwolves before, alone. He`d fought countless battles, and lived through them all--he`d even challenged an Ancient and come out alive, for Fivesake. So why couldn`t he summon his courage to tell her what she needed to know, what he had to say?

"Haven`t you heard the stories?" he asked at last, his voice quiet, its perfect self-control on the verge of breaking. "I told you...I`m a demon. You should have tried to kill me then and there. Haven`t you heard of the destruction a single demon can cause that`s slipped into this world by mistake? I lied to you...I hurt you...and I almost killed you. How...how can you just..." His broken sentence stopped in its tracks, and he took another step back. /Why/?
