Well. He`d really expected her to go for his throat--it wouldn`t have been an uncommon reaction in his old home. "No worries there," he murmured, bracing himself for the headache that always came with shifting. His form blurred, as if seen from a distance on a misty day, or if he were standing behind frosted glass. The white scales receded, his form shrinking rapidly in size, until a quite different creature pulled himself up into the cave.
In the massive White`s place was a young human man, no older than nineteen or perhaps twenty winters, his tousled hair the same white as the dragon`s scales, and his eyes snake-slitted and the exact shade of blue as a winter sky. He was tall for a human, clothed in a simple cream-colored tunic and black leggings. If not for his disconcertingly catlike eyes, and the way his ears tapered to points, he might have been a human from the surrounding villages.
"Well met, Whyspr...I am Solan Fallenskye," he introduced himself once his form had settled. His voice was low-pitched, and though his form had changed he still spoke in dragontongue. "A shadow dragon from the lands to the east." He looked about the cave; it seemed as if the she-dragon--no, Whyspr--had been here quite a long time. Despite himself, he asked, "Have you been here long? It would seem rather lonely to be by yourself..."
