"I'm Viera, nice to meet you," she said, eating another piece of chicken. She chewed and swallowed.
"So, are you new here or have you been here a while?" she asked.

"You to." He said, in an upbeat tone. "I've been here for a couple years, unlike others who come and go as they please. Well, not in this house, they stay untill they're adults, then they take up a job. Pretty odd it's only this house that has ever had students that grew to be teachers." He said in an annoyed tone, as if dropping a hint.

Jet looked up from her food, hearing the conversation. Zakari's comment struck her as odd, like he was warning everyone, or someone.
Rue leaned over. "Why does that strike you as odd?" She asked him a little wondering.

"Zakari." Beth said in a sort of greeting, but the look on her face was threatening, and brief, so the others wouldn't notice unless they were very observant.
"Beth." Zakari grumbled, taking a bad tempured bite from his chicken.

Viera smiled,
"Well, I don't plan on being a teacher. I'm more a musician." she said. She scooped up some more potatoes and ate them. She looked at Rue and Jet calmly for a minute, waiting for them to say more. She went back to her food when they didn't.

"That's what I said, but look at me now." Zakati muttered, not really sure if they heard him or not.
