Anabelle could feel the blood pumping in her cheeks. She smiled, but kept her eyes shut as they stood their. The feel of his breath on her lips made her entire body seem to heat up and somehow be calm.

Dmitri took a step back, and sat on the floor, next to her feet.

Anabelle slitted open her eyes and looked down at Dmitri. She wanted to say something, but she was at a loss for words.

Dmitri shifted, now a little taller than her. He looked at make sure all the windows were closed -- they were.

He turned to her with gentle eyes and rubbed his forehead under her chin.

Anabelle smiled and rested her cheek on top of his head.

Anabelle took the risk and glanced up at the clock. Her eyes grew wide when she realized how much time had already gone by. Sadly, she glanced down at Dmitri, knowing the hunters would be gone in about fifteen minutes. She didn't want to tell him that, but sooner or later, he'd realize it too and most likely go home.

Dmitri savored the moment. Tomorrow? he asked her telepathically.

Anabelle smiled and ran her fingers through his soft black hair, Tomorrow it is... she replied telepathically.

Dmitri nuzzled her. He heard the hunters leave the forest and drive back to the city, where they'd gather whatever they could find and test it. I have to leave, Anabelle. My parents will be worried.
