Delphis smiled in return. She liked it when he smiled, as hard as it was to get him to do. At his response to his question, yet another smile flitted across her face. Throwing her right arm over his non-injured shoulder, she kept her eyes on the bite marks, her head level with his. She was thankful she was just about the same height as him, a bit shorter since she was just a little younger than him. Forgetting why she had just done that strange hug/congratulatory gesture, too mesmerized by the bite, she stiffly gave him a pat on the shoulder, jerking away. "Good job. You do have a sense of humor." She forced herself to smile a strange smile, her small feet dancing away from him, like some spooked horse.
She diverted her attention to his second answer to her odd, off-topic question. "Ah. Big house I'm guessing." she said, still on edge. "You were lucky you know. A lot of people would die for a house like that." she said, keeping herself chatting on to distract herself.
"I found my old cat on the side of the road. The old thing got pretty attached to me, almost like mother and child." she sighed, remembering the tabby that was with her.
"But I'm guessing you've never heard of a mother killing her child, haha!" she said, kicking a rock on the sidewalk several yards down.
"So....I'm bored. I can't think of any questions, surprisingly. I'm tired, too, what time is it? 7:30? 8:30 at the latest," she said, looking at the sky, trying to veer away from the topic. She was still jittery; she had never been put in a situation where she was put next to a live person who was bleeding, one she couldn't kill. She was skittish mostly because she was afraid the chain was going to fail it's one and only job in life, to keep her dangerous side concealed.
