Peter smiled and opened his eyes. He offered his hand. "Nice to meet you, Nikki. I'm Peter." He winked. "Welcome to this Godforsaken hellhole some of us call a town." He grinned.

Nicole hesitated, then shook his hand. "My old home was hellish too. Maybe, I'm just destined to live in hell." Nicole frowned, positive she could smell werewolf on him. "Life here is very country-like isn't it?" She sat criss crossed, playing with a blade of grass.

Peter grinned. She was werewolf, but he couldn't figure out which kind. He decided it didn't matter. This girl was unique, and he liked that. "No one is destined to live in hell." He laughed. "Darlin', if you want country, this town's the right place to go, little lady."

"Yeah, well I am." Nicole shrugged, poking the dirt with a stick. "Maybe, but I don't want country. I wish I was home." She sighed. "What is the school like here?" Nicole asked.

Peter right then and there made it his top priority to make this girl laugh. He grinned. "The usual. It's high school. Snobs, preps, nerds, country folk, goths, all that. But overall it's a good school. Teachers are okay, I guess."

Nicole raised an eyebrow. Peter was right, school was just school. Smelling his scent was unbearable torture.. "You're a werewolf." She finally said, hugging her knees.

Peter sat up and rested an elbow on his knee. He nodded. "Yep. So are you. Black werewolf. My cousin is a black werewolf. She's inside right now." He didn't believe in the whole war thing. He simply wanted to live is life. Eat good food, hang out with good friends, and marry a great girl.

"You're cousin?" Nicole said, still sitting down. Secretly, Nicole thought, "The truth's out...everybody will know I'm a werewolf. "The law of the packs says we shouldn't be talking to each other, yet here we are." She said, staring ahead into the open.
