[ Oh my gawdness D; I don't think I can write as much as you guys are writing~ ]
. ♫ . . ♫ . . ♫ .. ♫

If I let you in, you'd just want out.
If I tell you the truth, you'd vie for a lie.
If I spilt my guts, it would make a mess we can't clean up.
If you follow me, you will only get lost.
If you try to get closer, we'll only lose touch.
Yes you already know too much; and you're not going anywhere.

The young, dirty-blonde haired woman sat silently, watching the water as it trickled down the window pane. What miserable weather . The lady thought to herself, a small frown forming upon her made-up, pale face. Gently she swallowed, gathering her hand-bag in her lap as the train neared the station, the breaks tightening. “Welcome to. . .” The speaker was drowned out as multiple dozen of people arose from their seats and began chattering amongst themselves, in preparation before they departed the train.

Elle was amongst those who rose from their seats in order to depart from the train; although the girl took her time before rising from her seat and setting off to depart from the train. The rain was falling fairly heavy on the platform outside and, in all honesty, Elle was not looking forward to the seeming long walk before the overhanging shelter developed. “Here goes.” The lady murmured before taking the final step from the train. It took Ellie a little while before the water falling on her head became apparent; oh, how apparent it made itself; hammering down upon the girl’s hood. Elle’s pace was quick and deliberate as she strode across the platform, ringlets of wet, dirty-blonde hair trailing behind her.

The woman shivered slightly, hands diving into the dry protection of her jacket pockets as she ducked under the looming shelter. Picking up her pace as she walked further and further away from the station – the streets growing more and more deserted the further the Demon Hunter ventured. Oh, This was going to be one interesting ‘holiday’.

є мєяу к ηιgнт

In my past, bittersweet;
There's no love between the sheet
Taste the blood, broken dreams

"Would you please stop changing the station?" A voice begged from the drivers side of a much too old truck, the makers name scratched out from rocks and rust on the outside. Who knows what had gotten it from the dash. There was a faint line left in the dashboard, an f? Ford, maybe. It was like a dump on wheels, whatever it was, and looked like a rusted version of the living dead. If you weren't distracted by the trash bags hanging from the side of it, you might applaud its lasting will to live, when it looked like it did.

"Your hands should be on the wheel." Or whatever was left of the semi-circle. "Let me worry about this." The answering voice didn't sound amused, or as helpful as the words might suggest. An angry undertone rested in his vocals, something the driver must not have noticed for his hand was back on the radio knob. "Knock it off." The sounds of the fading stations mixed with each other, one hand turning it one way while the other back. It was an annoying buzzing sound until finally the system stuttered, leaving both boys in silence. Neither had anything to say to the other for a long while.

"If you had just-"

"Shut up."

Emery Knight, being stuck as the passenger in the pair's going on six hour drive was quite unimpressed by his drivers attitude. He didn't even know the guy, but with a smile and a sweet promise he had been able to sign himself up as passenger for the stranger's monthly trip to British Columbia. Speaking of which, the guy was beginning to send him hopeful glances. Emery sunk down into the torn leather seat, eyes cast to the mountains that were coming ever closer. Maybe he should have jumped in with the trash out back. Adjusting himself so he was pretty much facing the door, Emery went about admiring the Rockies. He'd never been so close to them. Sure his little country home there in Alberta had granted him viewing, but they were always only pale blue figures against the sky. They were driving so close now that he was forced to crane his neck to see the tops, covered in white snow year round. So close...

"Why're you coming all the way out here anyways?" His driver finally managed to speak up again, even worse he was smiling like he had something to do with it too. Emery kept his mouth shut with no plans of telling him, or anyone for that matter. Not anyone so clueless anyways. Most of the regular humans were nowadays, keeping their noses out of everyone's business but their own. Mr. Hopeful seemed to take the hint though, and fell silent again. No, Emery wasn't interested in sharing his plans with just anyone. Where he was going, well, he had little idea himself. 'Somewhere in the Rockies' he'd been told countless times. A place where people gathered that actually did something about the Demon walking their earth. Emery clenched his teeth at the thought of the creatures, setting their unholy feet on what was not theirs. And how they meddled with the human race...

"Stop here." Emery spat. Hell, he didn't even know where they were but did that matter when he didn't know where he was going? Eager to comply, the guy in the seat next to him pulled over on the side of the road, nestling the truck near the trees. Emery was about to thank him when he started undoing his seat belt too. With a disgusted look his way, Em climbed out of the bucket of rust, slamming the door behind him. A bad idea because he almost swore he heard the hinges give from the force. There was a muffled shout of surprise from the inside of the vehicle and just as Emery had made up his mind to ignore it, it was cut off and replaced by someone screaming bloody murder. Much to his own surprise, it was enough to get him to turn around.

Hunched over the truck, now dumped on its side and crushed was a Demon. Covered in black and blue feathers, hiding behind a wooden mask resembling the face of a raven. And in its curled, nearly meter long beak was the nameless driver, hanging lifeless and torn upside down. Did he deserve it? In Emery's mind, yes. Was he enough to fill that giant? No, definitely not.

Lonely times indeed

Re: The Birth of a Demon [Accepting Forms]

Postby Clavicle » Fri Mar 11, 2011 4:23 am

((My first thought was, "Well, that sounds like a cheerful place." Of course, it could have been because of the "merry" in the name, hehe.

I swear, I have writer's block. This post got revised so many times. And it turned out so long too, although that could be blamed on bad formatting... Sorry. x.x Ah well, someone help Addie before she becomes snack food.))

She stood in front of the dreary looking building, contemplating wether she should knock. She really didn't want to disturb the nice people who lived there, and possibly get them angry at her. "I'm not stalling. Just...“ she muttered quietly, uncertainly, refusing to admit that she was afraid. Instead, she took a moment to examine to old "hideout“, and wondered why anyone would even want to live in the run down building. Anyone with money, that is. It had two stories, little to no windows, those which were visible having been boarded up a long time ago, and its walls were painted an ugly green color, although most of it had been washed out by the pouring rain. It didn't happen in one night, of course. The city just happened to be experiencing one of its seasons, rightfully named the rain season. The other seasons were known as, in no particular order, the rain season, the rain season, and the rain season.

She grimaced. Alright, so the city did get a break every once in a while, but most of the time...

Quit your monologuing and get me some food! The demon in her arms yelped, and was pulling on a few strands of her dirty hair, having untangled itself from its tattered blanket. Had she been thinking out loud? She hadn't noticed. "Quit your pestering,“ she muttered, lightly slapping the creature's flailing limbs away with her free hand. She was in no mood for an argument, but her demon apparently had other ideas.

Ad..ela-aide! Was its garbled call, which gave the irritated girl the urge to throw the pest in the nearest trash can and get on with her life. But as tempting as it was, she didn't want a vengeful demon coming after her. Yes, she was reluctant to throw the thing away not only because it was hers, but because she was afraid of what it would become if she did. That didn't stop her from being the worst parent ever though, which was revenge, in a way. If demons even needed a good parent figure anyway.

With a resigned sigh – and she was sighing a lot these days- she gathered all of her courage, took a deep breath, and tentatively knocked on the wooden door. She and her demon held their respective breaths as they waited for someone to come out and shoo them away with a broom. Alright, so that was more of Adelaide's fear than the demon's, partly because the little tick didn't know what a broom was in the first place.

Another five, nerve racking minutes passed, before the impatient demon nudged her, and she tried again. But it seemed that no one was going to answer, which didn't exactly bring any relief, despite her initial fear of getting even close to the doorstep. The nuisance in her ams shifted so that its body was turned towards the door, and reached out, probably with the intention of leaving a few deep gashes in the wood, much to her distress.

"No! Don't even think about it!“ she growled and pulled it back, taking a few steps back herself. The last thing she needed was to be blamed for damaging someone else's property... 'As if the building isn't damaged already...' she found her mind betraying her, and quickly shook her head to clear it of such thoughts. She wasn't going to cause any trouble for anyone, which was what she had sworn that day when she escaped from that hospital. And she was doing pretty good as well, so far.

Adelaide-e! The Demon screeched again

Feed me! It demanded. Adelaide sneered at it, causing it to attempt to curl in on itself. "What do demons eat, anyway?“ she muttered, but wasn't exactly very curious. She had a good enough idea of what grown demons ate, so she thought that their methods of feeding their young was somewhat like those that birds used. She was interrupted before she could recall that piece of disgusting information she had learned, thankfully.

I don't know. What do you humans do to feed your newborn offspring?

Adelaide's first urge was to throw the nuisance at the ground, and then throw a tantrum. "Do you even know what you're asking for, you little parasite?!“ she screamed at her demon, which obviously knew that it had stepped over some sort of invisible line, as it was trying desperately to get out of her vice-like grip, to no avail. But thankfully, Adelaide didn't stay angry for very long. The rain that was still pouring didn't really allow for any moods other than melancholy. She wrapped the demon up in the blanket once again, as if that would shield it from prying eyes, and started to walk away from the obviously empty building. The leech didn't bother resisting this time, since it seemed to have some sort of annoying radar that only worked for sensing Adelaide's emotions.

"How old are you?“ Adelaide asked, while inside she was berating herself for being so desperate that she would attempt to start a conversation with a demon, of all things. But she needed something to distract herself with, to distract her from that terrible, nagging feeling that they were being watched... Unfortunately, or fortunately, her demon didn't seem all too keen on replying. It discarded the blanket once again, and tried to peer over her shoulder. She frowned at this behavior but didn't comment, instead opting for picking up her pace. If only she could find a better shelter than that alley... She felt another pull on her hair from her companion, which didn't relent even as she started going up hill. Her attempts at ignoring the bane of her existence were ruined with a few painful tugs, and her head snapped towards her demon, her teeth bared in a rather inhuman gesture "What?“ she snarled, losing whatever patience she had with the demon up until then. The little parasite simply stared at her with its empty eyes, whose color had slowly bled out over the years, and pointed towards something behind her.

Deciding to humor it, she slowly, very slowly turned around... And screamed.

And she was still screaming as she ran uphill, and as the grotesque thing behind her caught up, and as she was finally back on straight terrain where one of its massive paws nearly caught her side. She consoled herself with the knowledge that it didn't seem like a very strong or experienced demon, but it was all for naught as she realized that it could just be playing with them. Like a dangerous game of cat and mouse.

She wasted no time in putting as much distance as she could between herself and the demon chasing her, her determination to get away only growing as the thing picked up its pace and let out a loud, guttural growl, a sound even more horrible than anything her demon could produce. Apparently, it was getting tired of playing. "What do I do!?“ she yelled, more at herself than anyone. Her eyes caught the entrance to that alley she had been hiding in, and she took a sharp turn than nearly costed her, as the creature pounced on the spot where she had almost slipped and fell. She got out of the way just in time, thankfully, but had to wonder how in the world she had even achieved that, as the thing that was chasing her was massive. Or, well, its size could just explain how slow it was, or the fact that it couldn't even jump properly.

Feeling like she deserved some sort of medal for escaping that blow, she ran into the alley, only to stop short at the brick wall in front of her. Drat. She had kind of forgotten about that...

Her demon wasn't acting nearly as distressed as she was, as she fell to her knees and hugged it tightly. The monster that was still after them wasn't really that far behind, as it had only taken a minute to re orient itself from the blow on its head when it had hit the ground during that sloppy pounce. Adelaide watched in horror as it ran towards the entrance of the alley, looking like it had every intention of throwing itself at its prey the moment it got close enough, and tearing her apart limb from limb.

Dropping her demon, which let out a squeak of surprise, she clasped her hands together and prayed to whatever deity could hear her, despite not being much of a believer. Hey, it was never too late to start though. She had seen the monster pounce again before closing her eyes, and could already feel death near, smell its disgusting breath as it prepared to devour her, its acidic spit burning her skin and...

"And...“ she whispered, stopping her praying as she realized that, no, her skin wasn't getting burned, and as disgusting as that stench was, it was just that. A stench. Slowly she cracked one eye open, and then opened them both wide in surprise as she watched the demon's struggle.

"Huh... It's stuck!“ she exclaimed.

Re: The Birth of a Demon [Accepting Forms]

((XD))

Yukino was so proud of herself. Having only little experience with make-up in the past, she managed to cover her tattoo in a way that was only slightly less than obvious. Surely people would only assume it was a bad cover-up job and think nothing of it. Humans were usually so simple-minded. All the while Gaenor had muttered and complained how she was contaminating his mark, and how insulted he was. She promptly replied with, "You're a demon. I would think you were above human difficulties." Yukino didn't recall a time he ever shut up as quickly as he did.

Despite her uncomfort with large amounts of people, Yukino deemed a test run was in order. If it failed, she could easily run away and try again in another city. As trees were replaced with small, forgotten warehouses that turned into a series of blocked-off alleys, Gaenor broke the silence Yukino was relishing in, enjoying with the utmost passion.

'This is a waste of precious time. We could be doing something productive, but instead you want to parade around a city with no value. You're a fool.'

Yukino sighed and shook her head at his meek comprehension. 'This is important, Gaenor. If I can pass as a normal human, there would be less to interfere with our work.' She wouldn't deny the demon had obvious intelligence and deviousness. She was aware of his age, how long he had lived before meeting her, and the level of experience that trumped hers. However, Gaenor was more inclined towards action. His planning was simple so that he could get to the killing earlier. Yukino was safe to assume that between them, she was slightly more clever.

'Hmph...We haven't killed anyone in a month. 30 days. You're slacking, girl.' His extreme hunger...were all demons this way? With as long as he lived, one would think he was able to practice patience.

From further away, a scream approached Yukino's ears, loud and piercing to her sensitive hearing. Yukino continued to walk as Gaenor flicked his devilish tail, searching as if to find the source of the scream. She saw through his eyes, but his intentions, his thoughts, remained closed to her. Very much the opposite in his case. Crashing and cracking shook the area, and the obvious growl of another demon was heard. Yukino's head slowly turned to her left at a brick wall, blocking another alley. Whatever was there, it was on the other side.

Gaenor was interested, that much Yukino could tell. Her naturally blank face looked to the top of the wall and instantly Gaenor knew what she wanted to do. His permission wasn't needed, but he took certain pleasure knowing things before they happened. In a movement filled with grace, as all her actions were, Yukino leapt from the gravel and flew through the air, landing softly above one apparent frightened girl, and one incredibly large demon. Gaenor's voice laughed in her head at the predicament the other of his kind was in.

'What an oaf.'

At the same time, Yukino called out, "What are you doing?"

Re: The Birth of a Demon [Accepting Forms]

Watch it count down to the end of the day
The clock ticks life away

<You're almost there. Every time you kill, I get stronger. When I am back to my full strength I will take you to the other world. It won't be long now... I can already feel it coming back to me... You do want to go don't you?>

Thomas gulped as Muerte's hiss scratched through his ears, penetrating his mind. He narrowed his eyes at the shadow in front of him, hunched over a rapidly vanishing cleaner. Although he didn't like one bit of how Muerte fed, he had to admit that it fascinated him. The demon was currently ripping into the flesh with his claws, tearing off chunks with his fangs to swallow whole, but the first thing he did was to bend over the dead body and suck the last of it's life away, stealing it's youth, its potential and then devouring the flesh and drinking the blood... All rather disgusting, but that was how Muerte lived, and that was what Thomas was beginning to get used to.

<Why don't you join me Thomas? You can't cross over until you are just...like... me.> Muerte jerked his head round to stare Thomas in the eyes, his fiery yellow eyes burning a hole through him. <Oh but don't worry Thomas. We have plenty of time to do this... There is no need to rush it, is there my boy?> His tongue flicked out, the barbs slashing Thomas' cheek open but not touching the blood, almost as if it was tainted. <Now I am full, you must hide me. If I am killed by a demon hunter, the last thing I'll do is bring you down with me. You don't want to die do you Thomas? I think not... I... think... not.> Without much warning, he leapt at Thomas, bursting into smoke as soon as their bodies touched. He would hide out in the boy's mind until he was hungry again...

I'm starting to doubt if we are ever going. He is always stalling, always telling me we have all the time in the world... What is he hiding? Oh I don't know, with my sort of luck, I don't really want to find out... He'll reveal his plan soon... All I have to do is keep him happy, keep him fed and hidden. Then he'll have no choice but to tell me, whether I get it out of him or he tells me... That is his decision. But I will get it out of him. He doesn't know I'm doubting him yet... I hope.

Thomas cleaned up the mess, making it look like the cleaner had just gone home early, then hurried to the door. Turning around quickly, his eyes met a security camera as a red light flickered on the front... As if on cue, Muerte erased the tape of the half an hour he had been there, then went back into hiding. The coward... He stepped out onto the patio, washing the blood off his shoes in the nearby puddles. He would ditch those shoes and find some new ones, the prints were all over the patio if anyone found out it had been a murder... It was better to be safe than sorry, so he stopped for a moment and pulled the shoes off his feet. The ground was cold under his feet, but he soon adjusted. He was used to it after all...
Stepping around broken bottles and other kinds of rubbish that he found lying around, he made his way back home in the darkness. Although he couldn't see where he was going, he could barely see an inch in front of his nose, he just knew where he was going. He had walked the same route over and over before, he knew everything there. Stopping suddenly as something brushed past his foot, he looked back then down at the ground. Probably only a rat, there were lots around there, although it hadn't felt fluffy... Nevermind. Continueing on, turning a corner then silently tip toeing down the stairs that led to the basement, he curled up in a corner... Dead to the world and everyone in it, until Muerte bothered him again...

I kept everything inside and even though I tried, it all fell apart
What it meant to me will eventually be a memory of a time when I tried so hard

(( The bold at the very beginning was the last bit of the first post with Thomas, just so I know, and others know, what he is replying to xD I can't draw him nor Muerte D: Whhaaaaiiii? Dx
Shameful sized post compared to everyone elses but oh well. :3 I'm not going to kill myself writing this time xD ))

I will be here
when you think you’re all alone
Seeping through the cracks
I’m the poison in your bones
My love is your disease
I won't let it set you free
Til I break you

You’ll never know what hit you
Won’t see me closing in
I’m gonna make you suffer
This hell you put me in
I’m underneath your skin
The devil within
You’ll never know what hit you

I tried to be the lover to your nightmare
Look what you made of me
Now I’m a heavy burden that you can’t bear
Look what you made of me
Look what you made of me
I’ll make you see
