[The wild one]

The great planet, Reach, has never really worried about the battles happening in the outer human colonies. Until now. The Covenant, a group of several alien species bent on the destruction of all mankind, has finally come to Reach; a planet that is practically on Earth's doorstep.

But Reach has something the other human colony planets didn't. They have the Spartans; great, armour-clad, super-soldiers. They are the only things that stand between Reach and planet-wide destruction. But the Covenant are strong and the Spartans' numbers are dropping too fast for them to be replaced. Will man make it through was seems to be the apocalypse? Or will this be mankind's final stand?

You are a Spartan; Your mission: Destroy the Covenant at all costs and last as long as possible.

Rules:
1. Try to post more than one line in a post. And use proper grammar and spelling.
2. I'd prefer that you know the story of the Halo games if you join, of read up about them.
3. I cannot stress this enough your character cannot have powers beyond the usual Spartan. This includes mental abilities. Spartans do not have them.
3. There is a limit of two characters right now. I may raise this later.
4. No perfect characters. You may be a Spartan, but you are still able to be wounded, and possibly killed.
5. When speaking out of character(OOC), please use () or [] around your OOC words.

Anything Else: He's partners with Kate, but they don't get along all that well. He has several scars on his face(one on his cheek, one over the bridge of his nose, one over his left eye, and one on his upper lip).

Character Intro:

Raptor crouched at the entrance of the old, empty barn, his rife lifted and ready to fire. He could hear Kate shifting somewhere to his right, her armour making quiet scraping noises as the metal plates rubbed together. He then heard his helmet radio switch on.

"Can we move out? I'm not picking anything up on my motion tracker," Kate said, sounding bored. Raptor shifted his weight a little before answering.

"Yeah," he sighed. "All right. There's an empty base eight miles to the North; we'll head there."

Kate and Raptor got to their feet and began their careful trek out into the open. Kate could hear the river rushing towards a nearby cliff, and the sound made her lick her lips in thirst. She hadn't had any food or water in almost two days, and her body was starting to show signs of it.

Raptor stopped at the edge of the river and tugged his helmet off. He ran his hand through his short, blonde hair and exhaled heavily. He looked up at Kate, who was still standing ridged on the soggy riverbank. She hesitated for a brief moment, then reached up and pulled her helmet off. Both Spartans dropped to their knees at the river and began to drink.

Raptor got to his feet again and put his helmet on. He waded through the waist-high water and climbed easily onto the opposite bank. Kate drank a few more mouthfuls before following her partner. She smirked, a little evilly, and grabbed the back of Raptor's armour as she passed him, pulling him back and sending him tumbling into the river.
"Ha ha. Very funny, Kate," Raptor muttered, climbing back out of the river and onto the soggy grass. Kate just laughed at him.

A shiver ran up Raptor's spine. He turned instantly, his eyes on his motion tracker. He then frowned, seeing something in the distance. He zoomed in on the spot and saw the Phantom. It was miles away, but Raptor wasn't about to pass up a chance to kill some Covenant.
"Come," he said to Kate, crossing the river again. Kate sighed audibly and followed. Raptor managed to find a Warthog lying on its side on the other side of the small property. He grabbed the side and pulled the vehicle back onto its wheels. He jumped into the driver's seat, then jerked his thumb towards the turret on the back.
"Get on, Kate. I need you manning that thing," he said. Kate did as he said, gripping the gun tightly. Raptor got the Warthog running and peeled onto the dirt path that passed for a road. He pushed the gas pedal down as far as it would go, wanting to get to where the Phantom was as fast as possible.

The Phantom was flying in Raptor and Kate's direction. Kate turned the turret upwards, aiming for the carrier. She pulled the trigger, aiming for the guns and engines of the Phantom. Raptor did his best to drive as close to the Phantom as possible with out being in full range of its guns.

Raptor slammed on the brakes and turned the Warthog to the side as he did. It skidded about five feet before stopping. Kate continued to fire at the Phantom. Raptor pulled his DMR off his back and began to squeeze off rounds at the Phantom, aiming for any movement coming from the open sides.

Kate kept her hands on the turret trigger until the Phantom finally decided that it wasn't worth hovering over three armed Spartans, and rose higher before shooting away.
Kate relaxed her grip on the turret, letting it point upwards slightly. Raptor jumped out of the Warthog easily and walked towards Buck carefully.
"You all right?" he asked. Kate sat down on the back of the Warthog, watching Raptor and Buck, her expression uninterested.

Kate remained perched on the back of the Warthog. She pulled her dagger out of its sheath and began to sharpen it against her armour. She payed no attention to Buck or Raptor. The latter sighed and held his hand out to Buck to help him to his feet.
