Erinn smiled. This was the boy she truly saw on the inside.

"Well, how about we go to the river?"

Once hearing the destination, I bared had time to nod in agreement before launching myself into the air. After a few powerful down strokes I broke through the tree tops and into the open air. The sky was huge, open, and invitingly clear of clouds. I stretched my wings as far as they would go, loving the feeling of winds whipping through my coat and wing tips. I hovered, waiting for Erinn patiently.

Erinn giggled, caught air, and flied with him.

Below them was a vast, dark, and beautiful forest. And then, under the sunset, they came upon a deep, rough ocean, with a sharp, rocky cliff overlooking it.

"Thank you for joining me. We should'nt be too far away."

The waves roared in my ears as I angled my wings down to the crumbly cliff. Just before landing I phased back to a human, I wanted to see this with good color vision. I landed on my feet, running a hand through my dark hair before sitting down right on the edge of the cliff. My feet dangled over, and I loved the feeling of the adrenalin that pumped into my blood stream. The setting sun warmed my simple black t-shirt and jeans, and the waves pounding against the rocks below has almost enough to lull me asleep. Not that I could stand to sleep now.

Erinn smiled. This was where she belonged.

She looked onto the cliff, seeing Samuel in human form, sitting upon the ocean.

She flew against the air, and landed onto the cliff, next to Samuel. She let the wind flow proudly through her chocolate-colored pelt, the falling sun letting the gold in her wings and pelt sparkle.

She sighed in contentment.

"So how did you end up on this side of the mountain?" I asked, glancing at Erinn be fore settling my gaze back to the fiery setting sun. I snapped my fingers, and a small flame sprung up. The color matched to sun, and I let it dance from finger to finger as the sea was engulfed by the fading red light. Even though it was still midwinter it was so calm and even a bit warm by the sea, not that temperature bothered me anymore. Spots of snow dappled the sandy strip below, giving away the time of year.

Erinn snorted. She didn't like fire in her ocean. "I live nearby. I'm an orphan. But my alpha saw the wolf in me and took me in."

I was tempted to ask more about the whole orphan thing, but I didn't want to push her. "So, how 'bout we go for a swim?" I asked, and pushed off of the towering cliff. About half way down I phased, and unfurled my wings to catch the rising ocean air.

Erinn laughed gently, and then watched as he caught air. She flew down, catching air, and followed him. The free, fresh wind flew through her face. She smiled.

"Do you like swimming, Samuel?"

I glanced back at Erinn, and surged forwards. I was just barely skimming the water, dodging white caps and the last of the rocky outcrops as I flew farther from land.

"Yeah, sure!" I called, hoping my voice wouldn't get lost in the wind.
