Davonte ducked out of the way of the dagger, but to Davonte's devastation, the dagger hit Nischa in the chest. The pony squealed and reared, lashing out and hitting Davonte in the shoulder, then the back. Davonte fell onto his face, much like before. Nischa turned and galloped back down the trail, Ambra trailing behind him. Davonte rose, cursing loudly, and glared at Trinity with a snarl. His body looked electric, like he was about to explode at any instant. He wanted to jump on Trinity, grab her hair, and punch her in the face until it was a bloody pulp. He clenched his fists and ground his teeth. He was seething, but there was still something holding him back: He couldn't hurt Trey, and these people were his friends. He wanted them all dead, yes, but he had something of a conscience and an allegiance to his brethren, whether they still wanted it or not.
Bear's heart was still beating. The trooper was still hanging on, but when he awoke his mood would only worsen.
