"I don't like today!" Olivia complained to Porter as the bell burst to life and the siblings walked out the door.
"No one talked to me, and everyone was sad!" She slung her backpack over her shoulder as they walked into the park for a shortcut.
"Why do you think everyone was sad, Porter? Do you think something bad has happened? I hope nothing bad has happened!" She chewed on her bottom lip.
"Do you think that's why no one talked to me? Or is it because they don't like me? Did anyone talk to you? Did everyone seem upset to you? Did you at least have a good day? What do you think Janet's making for supper? I'm hungry! Are you hungry, Porter? Did you like the cafeteria food, Porter? Did-"
"Ollie," Porter told his little sister, though he looked like he was trying not to smile. "You ask too many questions."
"That's what Janet says! That's what my science teacher said, too! I like science class, it's interesting! Do you like science class, Porter?"
They found a bench to sit down on.
