Alright, Nicholas, three steps back. Falling into a state of disarray was bound to get him nowhere, but the situation at hand sparked an itch that needed to be scratched. Nicholas wanted to be done with his stay here, and as nice as Kor'O Vior... Vel... Vel-something-something (he'll get it eventually) was, he'd happily bid her farewell too if it meant he could skedaddle on back home. But first and foremost (and this was likely the horseman in him), he was curious. He wanted to feel this out, play along with whoever or whatever had the power to round all of them together like this. He didn't know who else was here with him besides the T'au woman, but if Nicholas had been dropped here without his knowledge, that was an impressive feat on its own. "I'm guessing gue'la is your word for humans?" he asked, gathering himself. "Or is it your word for people in this Imperium you keep mentioning? They sound like an established group, so I'm not sure how I haven't heard of them or their version of the English writing system before I settled." Nicholas retrieved his phone again, double checking the date compared to his watch. Strangely, his phone's date read the 17th of the same month, which explained why he hadn't caught the date change earlier. In fact, his phone's clock had stopped entirely. "Well, so much for getting service. Bugger." he grimaced, tucking the phone away permanently.
"Alrighty so, Coors Lite," the horseman turned back to the inhuman pilot. "Have you seen anyone else here besides me? Because I know we aren't alone, I can sense at least three right now but more that is... fuzzy at the moment. It might be because I just woke up." he tapped his chin thoughtfully. "You've got more knowledge on this situation than I do, or at least it seems that way. I'm not for sure how difficult escape will be for any of you, but I'd like to know what's going on and I'll hear it out. Maybe lend a hand if you really need it, but you look pretty capable." a few seconds passed before he realized he could actually see the others in question. "Oh, they're - they're just over there." a pair stood by the door of a larger building, and the third sat next to the campfire. How he hadn't seen them before was baffling, but he certainly wasn't making the best first impression.

O'Viel||20||Female||T'au||Cabin 3||Tagged: Nicholas"You may call me O'Viel," the Tau commander corrected, "or Quicklight in your tongue. To my knowledge there are three others here, all of them human. Two warriors, and one mutant. Like you, they hail from remote worlds, Ignorant of the imperium." So many different humans free of the imperium's influence was very promising. Having uncontested worlds join as gue'vesa would certainly be easier than waiting on the odd defector. They still wouldn't have a numbers advantage, but it would be a relief to spread the Greater Good with minimal strife for once. "The Gue'la called Alucard believes he has a way to send us back from whence we came," she added. "He is one of the gifted, psykers I believe you call them. I do not doubt he believes his solution will work, but I do not think it will be that easy. He is looking for mirrors, I know not where."

♛ 𝔃𝓱𝓸𝓷𝓰𝓵𝓲 : male ✧ 28 ✧ outside ✧ tags; alucard, shoto──────────────────────────────────────────────"I suppose if anything catastrophic were to happen, I would still have to step in regardless." The male responds, recalling the time where a certain Harbinger had called upon an ancient god to wreak havoc on his nation's port, a somewhat bittersweet smile on his face. It was unsightly, unruly even, but he had foreseen the situation and knew everything would be fine. He would only interfere if his nation was truly in danger, and that would be rare knowing that his nation was now being well-protected by the adepti and the Liyue Qixing (an organization that protects Liyue Harbor, which the latter is what his nation is called). He snaps his attention back to Adrian as he speaks of a name, an eyebrow raising as he follows his gaze towards the two figures. He notes the battle suit with utmost curiosity, as always. What was that? But he'd have to ask later, for they had another task on hand.
"O'Viel? That is quite a name." Zhongli comments before his eyes flick towards the fire upon being mentioned by Adrian. A figure - perhaps a teen - sat quietly by the flames, a head of red and white. He finds the teen of interest, and he nods as Adrian suggests moving towards the fire. "Please do tell me if there is any way I can help." Zhongli offers with a grin, which fades after a while when he looks towards the fire once more. He approaches the fire without hesitation - knowing that it wouldn't hurt him as his element wasn't easily flammable - and the flames eventually highlight the figure's features. His striking blue eyes were the first thing Zhongli notices - they bore emotions that were far too mature for an average teen. But he doesn't jump to conclusions immediately; after all, he knew of adepti that assumed forms that didn't exactly dictate their true age. And he too, was guilty of that age facade. He puts on a gentle smile as they approach the teen, giving him a small nod, hoping he wouldn't come off as too pressuring.
"It is a pleasure to be of acquaintance." Zhongli offers a hand in a form of greeting, his tone calm and patient. "I take it that your name is Shoto, as I have heard?"

Alone time had been just what Shoto had needed to collect all his thoughts. While he would have preferred to continue to try and figure this place out, he had needed to sort through his own thoughts, especially after the book he had found. It was rare for him to let himself slip up in such a manner, yet his emotions had gotten the best of him. He may have avoided needing to explain it, but that didn't get it off his mind so easily. His time staring into the fire allowed for that and before he was joined once again, he found himself feeling content once again. That was probably for the better.
Pulling himself back from his own mind, he realized he had been staring at the fire for far too long. It seemed he was no longer alone either. Quietly averting his eyes towards Adrian, Shoto wondered what had brought the other back to him. The other spoke no words and instead sat down nearby. The teen didn't mind the company, but it was a bit stranger. Had he left the other already to rejoin with him? That was his first thought, but as a second figure approached, he quickly dismissed such thoughts. It seemed he had only been jumping to quick conclusions once again. That was nothing new.
Feeling Zhongli's gaze upon him, Shoto furrowed his brows. Returning the other's gaze, he noticed a smile on the older male's lips which only left him more confused. Smiles often weren't shot in his direction, unless it was one of his classmates, but even then it was only a select handful of them. He was well aware that he wasn't the most approachable person around nor did he return kind gestures all too often. Smiling wasn't much of his thing, yet he found himself making an attempt. A faint smile crossed his lips, softening his face slightly. Even though it was such a small change in expressions, it was quite noticeable. Even his body posture changed. His shoulders rolled back and he sat up straighter to get a look at the man approaching him.
That was when Zhongli spoke and extended a hand out to him. It took Shoto by surprise if he was being honest. He hadn't even spoke a word, yet this other was already saying it was a pleasure to meet him. It was this politeness that he was quite unfamiliar with. In a way it reminded him of Izuku. Brushing that thought off, the teen lifted a hand to grab hold of the other's and give it a small shake. Before he could even think of responding to the man's initial greeting, he heard him speak again, this time mentioning his name. Yet another surprise, though he figured it was possible that Adrian had mentioned it. "It's nice to make your acquaintance too." His voice was soft, but audible enough for the other to hear him."That is correct. I would be Shoto. And you might be?"

"Oh, that's much better. O'Viel. Nicholas tasted the way it rolled off his tongue. It translated to "Quicklight," which left him to wonder how T'au named their children. "I'll keep Coors on the back burner then, for if we get to know each other a bit better." he added with a wink. If he treated this like a vacation, he was more prone to enjoy the state of things. Besides, what was he really losing? Admittedly, the man felt guilty about leaving the place behind, even if it wasn't of his own volition, but he may as well make the most out of the trip. Trip. Ha, I really am making the most out of this illusion. O'Viel continued on, claiming that one of the others staying with them already had a plan for escape. "My kind does not call them that. I don't think anyone does, actually. Never heard of it. If we're looking for mirrors, I might have one. Depending on what all of my belongings came with me, that is." Nicholas would have to make his introduction to the others relatively soon, but hopefully, he would have a mirror on hand to make a better first impression than he had with the T'au.
Nicholas turned back into the cabin, examining the trunk by the foot of the bed for the first time. He eyed it with scrutiny, noting the thin layer of dust coating its surface, latches included. The dust cascaded off the lid as he opened it, but the contents within were strangely familiar. Changes of clothes, toiletries, a spare set of pillows and blankets, as well as some items he recognized as contents from Xaliphax's saddlebags. I guess that means he didn't make the trip with me. Nicholas frowned, resuming his search for the item in question. "Hey, when you say "Alucard," are you meaning like, Dracula Alucard?" a pause. "Scratch that, you have no idea what I'm talking about." He withdrew the question, pocketing a small handheld mirror and stepping back outside."I found one, but I hope the size doesn't matter."

𝐀𝐥𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐝 ⚜ [ age - mid-twenties ] [ gender - male ] [ species - dhampir ] [ location - fire pit] [ tags - Zhongli, Shoto ] [ mentions - O'Viel, Nicholas ]▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂"I'll be sure to let you know." He answered Zhongli, letting himself relax a little taking the small but sharp knife from his front pocket. His ears had picked up more of the conversation between O'Viel and the new comer who had yet to come to the fire pit were they were, as well as Zhongli and Shoto. Though he did no speak now, Adrian wanted to wait until the right time and he didn't want to interrupt them either. Perhaps he had intruded on the teen which he didn't intend to do. Hopefully that wasn't the case. The last thing he wanted to be was bothersome. However if you light a fire others are bound to join you at some point, no matter friend or doe. Adrian looked into the fire for a few moments then, watching the hot coals crackle and the orange flames dance sending tiny lit speckles into the night sky. He was reminded of the reck centre as he was still curious what had happened in there. The smell of something that had been burnt. But he didn't ask. Instead he would leave it unless Shoto brought it up out of consideration.
So far this adventure had been a strange one, but it gave him the chance to meet others he otherwise wouldn't have gotten the chance to meet. It seemed escaping wasn't entirely out of their grasp which was comforting to know. They could push back against the entity that had captured them without giving any of them the choice to or not. Did the entity know everything about everyone's pasts? The dhampir furrowed his brow. Maybe O'Viel was right in wanting to destroy it. They had found a way to escape but if they got away who was to say the orb would stop once they were gone, or it would just recapture them once they got to their homes. None of them knew yet how powerful the entity was. For all Adrian knew the thing could waste them all with one single blow. Better to wait then act too quickly.
The blond reached over and took off the sheath from his belt, placing the sword down on the grass beside the rock he was sitting on. "I apologize if I've intruded on you Shoto." The dhampir chimed in after a while.

O'Viel||20||Female||T'au||Cabin 3||Tagged: Nicholas"The strange abilities of the gue'la yet elude our scientists," O'viel said, "I must admit I do not fully understand his methods either. I know nothing of this "dracula", though I presume the two share some relation. We should try and find him, hopefully he will be able to shed some light on the process." Sitting back in her cockpit, the Coldstar sealed itself back up, hiding O'viel's face behind the twin-ringed Vior'La insignia. "There are no hostile lifeforms in our immediate area," she said, turning towards the rest of the camp, "but be on your guard all the same. The construct has placed... mementos, of events it believes we regret, and I have found that those who do not yet follow the Greater Good can be... unstable." The commander wasn't unfamiliar with regret, there were plenty of errors she had made in her career, but she also knew that there was no point dwelling on them. The past could not be changed, only the future. Humans, she generally found, didn't share her pragmatism. They allowed regret to fester, to consume them, they feared their mistakes instead of learning from them.

As she went back to the dorm room via the air vent, Kate became less annoyed about not investigating the rather suspicious Tower. Reynie did make a good point, but Constance didn’t have to be such a pain in the neck. Ignoring the fact Constance had been the one to decide the epic team name, nothing good ever seemed to come out of her mouth. Especially that gargoyle poem, no teammate would write such a thing. Kate huffed as she went up onto the top bed, Constance either pretending or actually being asleep on the bottom bunk. Tomorrow would be their first day of classes, so Kate tried to sleep and prepared for whatever rude awakening Constance might have planned.
Kate was partially awake when she heard adults talking outside the room, her tired eyes still shut. Which was odd, why would adults be out in the hallway right now? It didn’t sound like they were discussing anything related to the group, luckily. That was hopeful considering that they could’ve been caught last night. But…Constance wasn’t even complaining about any of the noise they were causing? Something was definitely wrong then.
Kate opened her eyes, taking in her surroundings one at a time. Yes, she was technically in the top bunk of a bunk bed. But this certainly wasn’t the same type of bunk bed, it couldn’t be the same place since there was no air vent above her head, and after carefully stretching to see the bottom bunk from the top, Constance wasn’t there either. What else was wrong? More importantly, where was her bucket? A flashlight would certainly be handy now, it seemed to be a rather cool, early morning. She felt around the bed for it and discovered it with some sort of piece of paper on top of it. After getting the flashlight out and turning it on, Kate could see she was in a cabin with three other bunk beds. At least there weren’t any televisions in here. And the piece of paper seemed to be a note from someone.
The note wasn’t much help with her questions. She was kidnapped because of something she is struggling to face? It mentioned the past…could it possibly be about her parents? But the mission to save the world, that was more important than discovering her past. If the Emergency destroyed her home and friends, what would be the point in knowing her parents better? There was also the chance this could be a trick or a way to convince her to accept she’ll never see her parents again. And who exactly wrote this note and called her both a stranger & a dear friend? Kate hopped of the bed, her bucket making a bit of noise as she went down and her bare feet hitting against the hard wood floor. Searching for her socks and shoes with the flashlight, she spotted them by the door and put them on. Placing the note in her bucket, Kate opened the door while using her other hand to point the light in the direction of the voices.

♛ 𝔃𝓱𝓸𝓷𝓰𝓵𝓲 : male ✧ 28 ✧ fire pit ✧ tags; alucard, shoto──────────────────────────────────────────────"Shoto is quite a unique name." The older male comments, but purely out of goodwill. He wasn't used to single-word names - he was from a Chinese-based nation after all. But it doesn't hinder his own pronunciation, for he was used to meeting people from Mondstadt with far more quirky ones. "I go by Zhongli." He responds, a subtle Chinese accent appearing in his voice as he pronounces his own name. His smile doesn't change and only grows a little brighter when Shoto takes his hand, and he shakes it gently. Though the teen seemed wary of his handshake at first, the smile that forms on the sides of his lips assures Zhongli that he wasn't going to be hard to talk to. He silently hopes that everyone at this camp would be equally amiable, for he found people who didn't speak often a trouble to converse with. Not that it'd matter anyway - he would always find a way to speak about something, be it something as simple as the weather. He doesn't hesitate to ask a few questions, having a need to fill his curiosity. Or perhaps it was a way for him to feel... safe around strangers. His smile doesn't waver. "Adrian here mentioned a 'distance mirror', and that you were involved. I suppose you can create reflective surfaces of some sort?

It was strange to be told his name was unique, but Shoto didn't mind all that much. In his home it was a perfectly normal name, but here it was evident that they weren't from similar worlds. That fact was only proven more when Zhongli gave his own name. It certainly wasn't one of Japanese origins, though he couldn't say it sounded all too strange to him. Brushing that thought off, the teen gave a polite nod of his head acknowledging the other's introduction before his eyes drifted over to Adrian. Hearing his apology, the teen gave a shake of his head. "You aren't intruding on anything. I expected someone to eventually come see why there was a fire started," he admitted as he rubbed the back of his neck. As much as he would prefer to be alone a lot of the time, he had made it obvious where he was and expected others to be drawn towards it. "Besides, I've had more than enough time to think over what happened in the rec centre."
Shoto figured Adrian was still curious about it even though he had previously left before receiving an answer. He fell silent for a moment though, trying to figure out how he would approach such a topic, but it was admittedly difficult. He never had been one that spoke of his emotions or even his life all that much. He much preferred to keep quiet about it and leave others guessing. There was no point in doing that now, especially since these others didn't even know of his quirk. He had only hinted of what he could do by mentioning ice, but that was only half of it.
The teen became lost in his own thoughts for longer than he had anticipated only to be drawn back to reality by Zhongli's question. So Adrian had mentioned him as part of their plan of escape. He should have expected that. He supposed this created the perfect place to explain what he could do though, touching on both his ice and his fire, so he could tell Adrian what had happened before.
"To an extent, yes, I can create a reflective surface. Specifically ice," Shoto stated. At this point he felt a demonstration was called for, thus found himself rising to his feet. Taking a step away from the fire, the boy lifted his right arms and allowed his body temperature to begin dropping causing ice to form on top of his skin. "I can create massive amount of ice with the right side of my body by allowing my body temperature to drop, though I risk cooling myself too much and causing frostbite the more I use it...." At those words, Shoto briefly paused, finding himself troubled to mention his fire half. His struggle was evident on his face. "That is unless I use the fire of my left half."
Letting a cold puff of air escape his lips, the ice on the teen's right side disappeared as quickly as it had formed and as his body temperature began to rise, flames began to flicker from his left side. "These flames are why you had smelled something burning earlier in the rec centre," he directed towards Adrian. "I found one of those clues that entity left and just like it wanted, I reacted. Burned it to ash without a second thought."
At those words, Shoto allowed the flames to extinguish as his body temperature began to return to normal. Again the teen found himself falling silent, figuring he had explained enough about his quirk for the others to understand. Besides, there were more important things at hand. "Did you gather the other things you needed to see if this would work?" he finally asked, once again turning his attention to Adrian.
