"Yeah. Here, I'll take it." Dresyn picked it up and put it over his shoulder.

“Ok, let’s hurry back to…the unofficial camp.” Alex said, starting to walk back in the direction of their make-shift camp.

Dresyn followed. He kept his head hung and followed her footsteps.

"Dresyn, is there something that you’re not telling me? People don’t look upset for no reason.” Alex said gently, trying to get more information out of him.

[Anomaly]

"Alex, you already know what's wrong with me. I'm just having phantom pain." Dresyn gave her a reassuring smile.

“This time you admitted something was wrong. Before you said nothing. Now, is there any way I can help you?” Alex inquired.

[Anomaly]

Dresyn sighed. "There is nothing you can do, Alex."

[shadowbaby]

“It’s so hard knowing you, or anyone else is in pain, and not being able to heal it.” Alex said, hanging her head. “It makes me feel helpless.”

Dresyn set the buck down and hugged her. "Alex, you've helped a lot." He kissed the top of her head.

“With what? I haven’t ‘helped’ much at all.”
