Tera gave a slight nod when the other rider left for town as well. It made her feel a bit more comfortable, though it still felt strange to be around her own species. She watched Diamant for a moment before lying down and rolling onto her back. "You and her are close," she said at last as she looked up at the sky through the leaves and branches of the trees above. "Can you even imagine life without her?"
"Great," Rai muttered under his breath when he saw his boss standing out in the market square, clearly angry. He sighed and walked up to him. "Sorry, Sir," Rai said quietly and soon received a strong slap to his face. "Don't you know how many thieves ran about without you here?" his boss bellowed. He rambled on about more of what happened while Rai was gone, but Rai wasn't paying too much attention. "Now, stay at your post!" his boss grumbled and soon headed off to his quarters. "Yes, Sir." Rai scowled and rubbed his cheek as he took his place and warily watched the stalls and shops.
