𝐄𝐌𝐌𝐀[ female ]..[ 16 ]..[ demi/heterosexual ]..[ medjack keeper ]..[ location: near bloodhouse ]..[ mentions: tag ]..[ tags: kade ]..────────────────────────────────────────For a fleeting moment, Emma truly felt bad, for it seemed her voice had broken whatever stream of concentration Kade had been sucked into. He had appeared to be quite occupied, despite the fact that at the moment she had caught sight of him, he was not working on anything in particular. Still, her stomach tightened with guilt, and she momentarily averted her gaze. She seemed to have a way of catching people off guards or ruining their streak when she was in one of her dampened moods. She could only hope her presence wasn't affecting Kade in a negative way. Then again, he had every right to shove her off if she was merely a distraction.
A small trot in her step advanced into her movement as he greeted her, his smile warm, endearing.
"Same old," she returned, feeling her spirits lighten ever-so-slightly. Whether this was because of Kade or just because she was out in the open, she wasn't too sure, but she didn't require an answer in this exact moment.
"I just needed a breath of fresh air. I'm not bugging, am I? You can just shoo me off if you want." Worry flashed in her hazel eyes like a strike of lightning as she tucked her hands behind her back, letting them hang loosely.
"What are you up to?"━━━━━━━━━━━━━
𝐄𝐌𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐘𝐍[ female ]..[ 18 ]..[ bisexual ]..[ runner ]..[ location: exit ]..[ mentions: tags ]..[ tags: runners, bob, idunn ]..────────────────────────────────────────Putting her hands on her hips, careful not to apply too much pressure, Emersyn continued to watch the odd-looking door up ahead, almost in a weary manner, as if worried something would spring out at her at any moment. How come they hadn't ever seen this before? The entire place seemed weird, from the strange drop-off on either side of the stone path she was standing on to the dip at the back and the large circular cut-out. It was definitely a door, there was no doubt about it. But a door to what? Did it take them to another part of the Maze? An exit back out into the Glade? She paused, then turned her head to glance out at the more open part of the Maze section they were in. Where even were they? She had lost track of what section they had planned on travelling into, and now she was just confused. In fact, that large, bolded question mark had appeared once again, and she let out an annoyed huff. What the hell was happening here?
Turning at the sound of echoey clicking noises, Emersyn shied closer to the wall to avoid getting trampled by the eager Griever. It was only when it (he? She? Did Grievers have genders?) galloped past her that she noticed the ball at the end of its tail. No stinger. This Griever didn't have a stinger. If Emersyn wasn't so put off by this odd discovery, she would have vocalized her questioning about the creature. Everything was just going right over her head at this rate, and she didn't even bother attempting to change that. There was far too much to unpack in such little time.
"I dunno," she finally responded to Karter, whose voice had rung out a few seconds ago.
"Couldn't tell you." She finished that off with a shrug, barely even glancing in the Runner's direction as he jogged up to join her. It was true, though, she really didn't have an answer.
"The thing seems thrilled about it, though." She finally took the time to turn to look at the Runners, and it was then that something else caught her attention. Or, rather, some
one. Emersyn had a lot bottled up inside of her at this point, from the anger about her wrist to the endless quizzing questions about the Griever and where they were. And seeing someone who had broken at least a half dozen Gladers rules did
not sit lightly with her.
"What the hell?" The words came out harsh, even harsher than Emersyn had originally intended. She stormed over to the stranger, the girl whose name she didn't even know yet. That made it worse. Greenie who didn't even have a name was in a place she wasn't allowed to be in. Did Emma and Newt teach her nothing yesterday? None of the people who were fawning over her at the bonfire said a word? Or maybe they did and this girl thought it would be best to ignore all the warnings and go in anyway.
"You aren't supposed to be in here. What the hell are you doing?!"━━━━━━━━━━━━━
𝐋𝐄𝐄[ male ]..[ 18 ]..[ heterosexual ]..[ builder ]..[ location: gardens ]..[ mentions: idunn, tag ]..[ tags: wysteria ]..────────────────────────────────────────Lee couldn't help but toss his head back and let out a short though amused laugh at Wysteria's near-sarcastic comment. Bitterness wasn't something one could seek out of the girl on a regular basis, and she didn't even sound genuinely annoyed, but her choice of words were amusing to him.
"You're not wrong," he agreed with a light shrug. There was no hate towards the Greenie - this one or any other one - but Wynn was right. The Gladers' curiosity when it came to new people was just a
bit too much. He used to be like that, super into the newbie, making sure they knew who he was, but he'd settled with that now. Of course, Lee was still determined to make a friendship with anyone new, but he didn't breathe down their neck. Besides, there were plenty of others to do that sort of business. A lot of the Gladers were just so friendly.
"We're all just kinda..." He let his voice die off and rose his arm, creating a wave-light motion with his flattened hand.
"...Cruising along. Boring. But I mean, hey, you've got the right idea. No hurting people is good." If Lee actually paid more attention to what was happening in the Glade then he may have potentially been a bit more concerned about the lack of work that went on, but he didn't. It didn't really seem too concerning, anyway. They all needed a break, right? Things would pick up once the excitement about Idunn passed.
And on that matter... Idunn popped back into Lee's mind, and he remembered the reason he had come to Wynn in the first place. She clearly hadn't seen the new girl, given her returned question.
"She said she just had to go find the bathroom, but that was well over ten minutes ago now," he informed the Med-Jack, bringing both hands up to run them through his black strands of hair to engage on the stress he was feeling. His dark eyes skimmed over the grounds once again, yet he failed to catch sight of her.
"I don't think anyone took her but..." His voice trailed off and his smile dipped. Eyes widening, heart skipping a beat, Lee's head snapped towards Wysteria.
"Ohhhhh no. Sh/t, she was so into the Maze... Wynn, do you think she went in there!?"━━━━━━━━━━━━━
𝐃𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐎[ male ]..[ 18 ]..[ bisexual ]..[ trackhoe ]..[ location: gardens ]..[ mentions: kennedy]..[ tags: bronwyn / open-ish? ]..────────────────────────────────────────Draco rose a sleeved arm and swiped any beads of sweat off of his forehead before his chocolate curls could collect it like a sponge, giving Kennedy yet another nod. Simple, though enough for her to know that he was indeed listening to what she was saying. He wasn't in charge, Nagini was, but from his point of view, it wouldn't be a huge loss without Kennedy. That wasn't spoken in a negative manner towards her, either; the work they had wasn't much, and they had more than enough Track-Hoes to cover for a few hours... or minutes, as Kenn put it. Kennedy was a great worker and she deserved a break, drowsy from the medicine or not.
"You can take more than thirty minutes," he scolded lightly.
"You... do you." He waved her off, encouraging her to follow through with her plan. The nickname that left her lips didn't really process in his mind until after a burst of giggles emerged from the mouth, and he furrowed his brows, a quizzing look across his features. But he didn't question. Draco had a softer spot for Kennedy, and he was sure almost everyone knew of it. Although "Draco" was perfectly fine by him, Kennedy could get away with something else, even if it did sound amusingly ridiculous.
He watched her go, then went back to his basket, which was still near Bronwyn.
"I'm going to drop these off," he told the Keeper. He didn't follow that up with a "would you like to come?" comment, but also left it open-ended. Picking up the basket, Draco gently moved the cherries around so they were even, then left the fruit trees and headed towards the kitchen, the closest building to where he was currently standing.
