Whether or not this was on purpose or they genuinely just hadn't heard her, she didn't really know, but the offensive she felt faded within seconds as the thing before the group let out a soft snarl. She decided then that her voice had simply been too quiet for anyone to have heard, especially considering the fact that the majority of their focus was on the creature.
This thing, even despite its more tranquil personality, really was one of the most disturbing sights Emersyn had ever laid her eyes on. Its body colour was a sickly green, lighter than the moss that strung to the walls though darker than the dying grass in the Glade, with goo drizzling from the corner of its mouth; it reminded her of the colour she'd envision when the Med-Jacks described their patient's face as green. String-like things wrapped around its legs, and for a fleeting moment, Emersyn truly did wonder if stepping on them would do any damage. Did she want to hurt this thing? Her short frame would be absolutely no competition for it, that was true, but it was still the thing they'd been taught to fear since Day 1. Despite that, the Runner still found herself questioning this one in particular. It acted nothing like the one Alby had shown her through the window within the first week of being in the Glade. That one had a mouth so large that it could have easily swallowed Emersyn whole if the foggy glass hadn't been there to protect her, and its growls and screams were enough to give one nightmare for the rest of their life. This one didn't do that. It chirped, almost, and its occasional snarls were more like cracked chirps. Her breath caught in her throat as Yvonne shuffled closer to it, yet she felt like her body had turned to stone; her feet sunk into the ground, her arms gained an extra one pounds, and she couldn't move. She could only stare. "Cute" also wasn't the first word that came to mind. It was meddlesome, though not pushy, and maybe even had a more demure sort of personality, but when she thought of cute, her mind went more in the direction of puppies, which, ironically enough, had been one of the first memories she regained.
It was almost a horrific thought, she decided, come realizing that the level of insecurity and fear she had originally felt had begun to dip. Slowly, that was, very,
very slowly, but she could even start to agree that this thing wasn't going to do any harm. She wasn't yet at the point where the voices around her burst into actual words, they still remained buzzes for the most part, but it was a start.
Emersyn finally managed to tear her gaze away from the Griever, whose head was bent towards Yvonne, and blinked rapidly to rid the slight soreness she felt. Dante was by her side, and she only just seemed to register her friend's gentle touch. Guilty of it, but Emersyn didn't know how long she had been standing there for. It was enough to throw a blanket of comfort atop of her, though. She gave a single nod towards Dante, mustering a small smile, but another chirp from her left caused a reaction inside of her, and Emersyn whipped her head back around, hand jolting out to grab Yvonne if she needed saving. The girl appeared to be in one piece, though. The Griever's eyes, quite literally the same size as Yvonne's iconic space buns, were still watching them, but not staring. Observing, more or less. She quickly looked away.
"It didn't hurt you, right?" she murmured towards Yvonne, an unusual bit of concern laced into the tone used.

Lee waved off her comment playfully with a flick of his wrist. "These sheep are sneaky, but they're no experts," he agreed. "I've patched this up with the older Builders one too many times." His hands cupped the top half of one of the wooden poles and he gave it a firm shake. The lowering of her voice did not pass by him, and it made Lee temporarily curious. Had someone already told her about the robotic bugs that watched their every move? "I'd even sent down a message requesting they stopped with the sheep and gave us something more chill, like pigs. And then the following week, we got three new lambs. So yeah, they're not the most helpful." He clamped his lips shut the second those words left his lips and he quickly glanced around, checking for any potential Beetle Blades. The Gladers had come to the conclusion rather quickly that the pesks had a good connection to WCKD. Once, some Med-Jack had been complaining about the lack of some sort of medical supply near a Beetle Blade, and the next time the Box came up, those exact supplies were present. It was kind of creepy. But, at the same time, also a bit reassuring, knowing that they weren't truly alone. It didn't help that none of the beetles had ever shown them a way out, if there was one.
"They just give us what they think is necessary for that month," he continued, twisting a loose wire around the pole. "And we've just gotta do what we can to make sure it's evened out so we don't run out before the next month. We got a good bit when you came up, though. You must be good luck." He began twisting the wire, frowning ever-so-slightly at one of the mammals began to edge closer, curious as to what they were doing. Lee quickly shooed it off. The fact that they couldn't even receive proper wiring was annoying; a rope would be more efficient than wiring like this.
He peaked over his shoulder at her quips, grinning, though it was fairly covered by the fabric on his shoulder. "Guess not," he concurred. He couldn't wait for her to return back. Was that obsessive? Probably not, since he'd always been excited to see his friend return safe and sound. Lee didn't have a lot of worries about the Gladers, but the Runners were always in the back of his mind. He gave the slightest of head nods as she excused herself. They still had a bit to go, but it wouldn't hurt to be without an extra pair of hands for a few minutes. However, those few minutes soon turned into closer to twenty minutes, or so it felt, and Lee wondered if she got lost. He finished up the last bit of wire, then left the paddocks to go looking for her. Along the way, he spotted gentle Romi by herself. "Morning, Romi," he greeted with a smile. "Have you seen Idunn, by chance?" Before she had a chance to say anything, however, he quickly added, "I think I may check the Homestead, actually. Talk to you later?" His brows shot up hopefully and he flashed her yet another smile before continuing down his path.
It was strange, the way she had disappeared, but Lee decided to settle on the possibility that someone had dragged her side. She was new, after all; the Gladers were always all over the newbies. Shrugging to himself, he turned to head back to the paddocks. He caught sight of Wysteria, another one of the Med-Jacks. It was possible she'd have seen Idunn, considering the fact that they were working in the gardens only moments prior, anyway.
"Hey!" he called out to her, giving her a friendly wave as he approached her side. "I think she's been doing pretty good. She's been eager enough to help me out and all, and I think she may have made a friend or two, which is cool." He hesitated for a second, then plopped down beside her. "I personally am doing real good. How 'bout you? How's your work and all that doing for you?"
