The Old West (Literate Human Roleplay)

Civilization At It's Finest
Image

The late 1800s, civilization is crawling westward at an alarming rate. Railroads, automobiles and settlers claimed America's last savage land. Cowboys trading their spurs for tophats and suits. Still many families try to continue their lives, but criminals make life increasingly complicated. From murderers to cattle russlers, life on a frontier is never easy. Frontier living is only for the strongest, bravest few who haven't given up all hope.

-----

This is based on the wild west, the real west. Not the romanticized version of the cowboys written by the city folk. Incounters with wild animals, aswell as criminals are a common thing. Whether you are trying to get your family farm running, or you are stealing from the people who worked so hard to keep afloat.

I. Rules and such

a. No Powerplaying. You cannot take controll of other people's characters. No acceptions!
b. No "Perfect Players". If your character gets mauled by a bear, don't expect them to get up and run away unscathed. They can survive, but cowboys aren't super-heros.
c. Remember, this is a Literate roleplay. Try to spell as many words right as you possible can. Punctuate your sentances, capitalize your beginings of sentances. Use what your teachers taught you. No text speech!
d. Again with literacy, write at LEAST three sentances. I do not care if you have writers block, that is no excuse. You should be commonly writing 1-2 paragraphs. (We should have learned in grade school that a paragraph is 5 complete sentances.)
e. Follow the rules of CS. Don't know them very well? Well, it would be a good decision to review them.
f. No suddenly quitting. You must warn us in advance if you are going to leave for any period of time. PM me.
g. If you are talking out of character, you must use ([{}]) to mark that you are talking in such a manner. But cut back on this OOC talk.
h. No swearing. I know, most of these people certaintly did cuss, but it's against the rules. Make sure to star out the words. "***"
i. Don't start fighting or have hissy-fits. It's annoying. If you follow the rules there should be no reason to start fights. This will most likely get you kicked out.
j. Do not use characters from TV shows, video games, movies, books or anything. Nor may you base them off of them.
k. No exotic animals as pets. People in these times would not have a kangaroo or bear side-kick. Pretty much horses, dogs, cattle, pigs and chickens are the only animals you'll see much of. If you see a bear, it's probably trying to kill you, not help you fight crime.
l. No more than 2 characters, I have the right to permit you to have more or less.
m. Only human characters. We cannot have one user playing a horse, the other a rider. Riders can roleplay as there horse, or other animals if they have a dog or are watching a herd of horses, or herding cattle.
n. These rules will be subject to change as needed. If you understand that please state that you read the rules in your form.

Username: Collies can Fly
Name: Elijah Colt Keenan, usually refered to as Colt Keenan.
Age: 19 years old.
Gender: Male
Physical Features: Colt stands about 5'7", which is somewhat tall for that time I suppose. A bit above average. He
has medium brown hair, and bright blue/grey eyes. His hair is shaggy and not usually trimmed. Pale complection, common
with most Irish people, and has a few light freckles on his checkbones. Dresses somewhat slopily; button-up shirt half
tucked in, dirt-stained jeans. His hat has a hole in it from a gun, and is a bit burnt. He rolls up his sleeves past his
elbows. He keeps a hand gun tucked in his pants under his belt, usually hidden under the untucked side of his shirt. He
is partially blind in his left eye, but never much talks of it. There is a scar over his tearductish-area, then one on
his nose.
Personality: Colt is somewhat cold-hearted, generally theiving and destroying without a care for anyone. He
expresses his love towards his horse and his scruffy dog, otherwise he usually shuts everyone out. He is generally
respectful to most, and listens to order from most people he respects.
History: His father was an immigrant to american from Ireland. His father had his own land by the time he was 17,
coming to America at age 11. His father was a drunk, and lost his money, and his land. His mother left when he was really
young, she never wanted anything to do with him. She had already died, and his father was killed for his dumb actions
while under the influence of alchohol. Colt was an orhpan, and never had anyone to teach him much. He didn't learn to
read, and rode with a gang for a few years before going out on his own. He bought an old pregnant belgian mare from a
farmer, and the mare gave birth to a long-eared spotted mess of a horse. The old mare died, and he trained the colt, who
he named Deputy. He found a stray, funny-looking terrier/wolf mix who he named Cash. Cash is about half the size of an
average wolf, with a terrier looking head. He's a very gentle dog who often rides on the saddle with him.
Mount: Deputy, a "mammoth mule" or a belgian donkey cross, producing one large foal. Deputy is a leopard-colored
mule standing about 17hh. He's very muscular, and fast moving despite his large size. He is very gentle, and hardly
scared of anything. The only problem with him, as most large draft horses, he doesn't stop very well after running full-
bore. Deputy follows Colt around like a puppy, being raised by him mainly caused this. The mule also listens to many
voice commands, Colt having probably way to much spare time to train him. Deputy is protective of both his owner, and
Cash, Colt's dog. Deputy doesn't let most other people ride him, and comes when Colt calls to him, but usually there is
no need, because Deputy is at Colt's heels.
Occupation: Colt is just a low-life robber. He does jobs for people, from stealing to kidnapping. He sometimes
does good by people, sometimes escorting people from city to city. His father's farm is completely gone, so he doesn't
have much hope in the way of farming. Colt doesn't roll with anyone, he usually is by himself.
Other nonsense?: Colt has a "hillbilly" accent.

Username:
Name: Rynn Nuria Moon
Age: 20
Gender: Female
Physical Features: Image
Personality: Can be funny, loving, caring, mysterious, outgoing, loud, make weird things, but yet riding is her life. She enjoys the life here, but has a dark side as well. So she can be silent, shy, less-talkative, and ignorant.
History: Rynn grew up as an orphan since birth. She knew no love, no hate, nor other feelings, but still is the average woman you'd expect. She had been confronting a lot of robbers during her life, and yet they hadn't returned to bother her after they first met her. Her uncle, who died an year ago, taught her really useful secrets, legends, myths, and about this small town's past. She doesn't have too much to share, though.. Only that she already went through a relationship once. So don't try it again.
Mount: Vagabundo ((without the pink bows, and has longer, wilder mane and tail.))
Occupation: Normal living person, nor a rancher, nor a criminal, nor nothing - person
Other nonsense?: Yeah, I DID read the rules -_-''
"At the foot of Mount Tibor, surrounded and outnumbered,
the Order's only chance lay in this sword - the Runeblade.
Image

The weapon was borne by the warrior Heron, and the dragon, Arokh.
As the armies clashed, Navaros entered a mystic trance,
drawing power for a massive spell of destruction.
With the stolen strength of his dragon's soul,
Navaros had grown far mightier than any mage before him.
As the words of destruction rose to his lips,
a lone dragon came shrieking from the clouds,
weaving amidst the streams of lightning and fire that flooded the sky.
On Arokh's back, Heron gripped the Runeblade in both hands,
and with one final cry,
drove it deep into Navaros' blackened heart.
All sound went silent somehow, in the moment of the act.
The tremendous forces Navaros had summoned were unleashed without direction.
The clash of swords was heard no longer, and blackness hung over the field.
When at last the smoke cleared, the two great armies lay decimated.
Where Navaros had stood, a wound-like rip had been torn in the very fabric of space.
In the smouldering crater below, Heron lay dead, the Runeblade broken in two at his side.
In that blackened pit, only the dragon Arokh still clung to life..."

Legend of the Order of the Flame,
of Arokh the Hero
and Heron the Mighty Rider
of how they saved the world of Drakan...
