I came to the Marines as a cowardly, ignorant brat and now I’m a Captain. Strength gets you places." He smiled sheepishly. "Not to say I don’t have my cowardly moments to this day, but I don’t like to remember that." Coby fell silent for a moment when the other Marine offered to stick around, even thought it was not out of necessity. Somehow, even if it was a small gesture, it warmed Coby's heart. "Thanks. Won’t be long before the meds knock me out anyway."

"I always do my best not to trigger him. The last thing I want is for him to have a panic attack," Coby pointed out. This seemed…not a great place to cut conversation, but his mind was dulling, and it was only seconds before his eyes fell shut.

Coby opened his eyes again. The worst of the drugs had worn off and the IV been removed. Open wounds had been bandaged up neatly, and the pain in his arm and shoulder was absent, as was expected with a set joint. He looked around the infirmary to see if any of his companions were up yet, or if he was the first.

The boy hummed quietly a bit, having fallen asleep himself. He’d head painkillers as well, of course, and they’d put him to sleep. He was like Luc, tired out because he’d never been injured. This fight had been far different from Tropica, too. He let out a small breath. Yuli hadn’t been allowed in with them, and everyone could probably hear him whining.

Coby awakened today the sound of the dog whining, but it’d do no good to have a dog in the infirmary, where it might get underfoot. He groaned and sat up, brushing his messy hair back from his face and pinning it back with his headband. "Hey. Yeah. Were…Were you here all night with us?" He asked. He stole a glance at Lucian, who was…shivering. "Hey, Luc…hey. Wake up. You’re shivering. You okay over there?"

He was in close enough range now that a swing might send him stumbling if he wasn’t careful, but he didn’t mind. Maybe he could find a way to use that. When in battle, use everything one has.
