OOC: Others in a sec!
IC:
Portgas D. Ace | 2nd Division Commander | Whitebeard Pirates | Tagging: Nyx, Sabo | Location: Calm Belt Ship
"Whoa wait wait wait, hold up a sec. What's going on here?" Ace looked between the two. Those eyes. That unhidden smile, though softer than he remembered... it was still that of his brother. He shook his head. Memories. Imagining things. That was stupid, wishful thinking. "Nyx...I know you weren’t there at the time, but Luffy and I... we heard Sabo... um..." even saying the word in context was a bit too much of a challenge for Ace.
Sabo | Chief of Staff | Revolutionary Army | Tagging: Ace, Nyx | Location: Calm Belt Ship
"What, died? That's what everyone thought." Sabo's smile grew just a flicker more confident. He tipped his hat to the two of them. "Good to see at least one of you remembers me. If I might though, what’re the two of you doing out here? On a tiny ship in the middle of nowhere?" He’d heard Ace sailed with the Whitebeard Pirates, and he’d had no word of Nyx, but on some level had thought she had gone with him or Luffy. This was most definitely NOT the ship of such a huge crew as the Whitebeard Pirates.
Karter Zael | Crewman | Calm Belt Pirates | Tagging: Adrian | Location: Marine Headquarters, Holding Cell
"I’m more on manual skills than survival. I can pick locks and squeeze into small spaces, I’m fast on my feet, I can build just ‘bout anythin' with the simplest materials, stuff like that. But ask me to swim or climb long distances, or how to treat a wound? I got nothin'." Karter smiled sheepishly. It was true too, and he wasn’t afraid to admit it. He had minimal survival skills. He had a few scattered here and there, but they related primarily to combat survival, rather than wilderness or emergency survival.
Kitchi Tala | Commander | Marines | Tagging: Kirsten | Location: Marine Headquarters
Kitchi smirked. "Fun? 'Round a military base?" He pointed out. "I mean, if I hear right, there’s a little garden or something, and there’s probably SOMETHING to do in the common room. It’s there for a reason, but most of the time, time spent here is just training and routine." That had never bothered him. Not until now. Now that they had an off day, they had nothing to do, and Kitchi quite honestly worried that they could very well die of sheer boredom if all they had to do was sit around. "You’d think they’d provide some games or books or something since we DO get people who have to stay off duty, and we DO have people who are off training or duties for the day."
Micah Tariah | Lookout | Calm Belt Pirates | Tagging: Luka | Location: Ship
"The way you two talked about each other from what I could hear, doesn’t sound like there was a ton to reconnect with in the first place." Was that a rude thing to say? Maybe. Micah said it how she saw it though, and if someone didn’t like it, that was their thing to deal with. "Would you even WANT the chance to reconnect if it was possible? I woulda thought it’d be simpler this way, having minimal connection to her and all since you two are on opposite sides of the field. I guess...that could be a weakness and a strength at the same time," she reasoned.
Devin Elmer | Lieutenant Junior Grade | Marines | Tagging: Kaden, Kory | Location: Marine Headquarters
"Heh...that...that was more about the formalities thing. Where I came from, you could get in trouble if things weren’t always super professional. I guess that’s the right way to run a military base, but here...I’ve heard people refer to each other by name. It’s a hard habit to break." Devin had accustomed herself to either using titles, or just looking someone in the eye when they spoke, thus not having to formally address them. Even with Anya, she’d rarely actually used her NAME, and they had, she’d thought for a while, almost been friends. Or as close to friends as one could get with their superiors anyway. "Is it really so casual and chill around here usually? Or is that just like a personal preference thing?"
Coby | Captain | Marines | Tagging: Lucian, X Drake | Location: Marine Headquarters
Coby's lips curved up into the start of the smile that had tried to make an appearance earlier. "I promise he’s a safe one, Captain. He’s just curious, I guess he wants to know what I do beyond what meets the eye or something, but he would never do anything to endanger us. I believe that wholeheartedly, and...and I know you’re a bit slower to trust, and that’s okay. I just..." he shook his head, shrugging. "Pleading my case," he half joked.
