OOC: @Poppy: They’re all at Tropica, I kinda assumed everyone was scattered somewhere throughout the market to buy supplies, but I can work with anything
IC:
Kassandra DeMarks | Navigator | Pirate | Calm Belt Pirates | Tagging: Anya | Location: Tropica
Kass smirked, dry and humourless, maybe even bordering on disappointed. Usually flirting worked, and she genuinely liked this woman's spirit. "Pity. I appreciate the way you go about things, so straightforward, and I admire the confidence and this sense of justice- however false it may be, poor things, you lot, to have been manipulated so well- you carry yourself with. Had either of us set on a different path and I think we could’ve been friends. Sad it can’t be that way. But ah, so be it. If you don’t want to play nice, then the loss is yours, not mine. I understand not wanting to step outside the unknown for fear of risk. Fear you’ll lose your place at the faction you love, scared you’ll lose your place next to your beloved. I would be much the same way if I were in your position, so I can hardly blame you, but I’ve been around the block, Anya. I’ve seen multiple fights. Your little gun there doesn’t scare me," she announced. Sure, her body wasn’t made out of a bulletproof material like Luffy, and she wasn’t a Logia who could simply hide herself in her element, but she had only one concern in those bullets, and it had nothing to do with direct injury. She was a pirate. She cared not if she got a bit hurt! They had the best doctor the Grand Line, no, the WORLD had to offer! Even if I get hurt, Quin will know how to patch me up. So I can’t let fear of injury come between me and victory. Kass took a deep breath. I did this. I brought us to this island at the same time as the Marines, so that means I have to get us OUT of this too.
Karter Zael | Crewman | Pirate | Calm Belt Pirates | Tagging: Linkk, Lucian | Location: Tropica
Karter grinned, a toothy, confident grin, full of energy and almost...excitement. He’d had his skirmish with Coby, and with Draco, but those hadn’t been REAL fights. Nobody was trying to kill him. Nobody was trying to capture him back then. Things were different this time, and that meant he could give it his all. In the two seconds it took for him to draw his knife though, he’d had to slow down, and when he did, something hit him HARD. A feeling like something heavy slamming into his leg just below the knee. DANGEROUSLY close to the joint. At first there was no pain. Not the slightest bit! He stopped where he was though, his knife hand shaking. It was strange. He turned his gaze towards his attacker, the Marine he’d seen first, who was now holding a gun. He shot me. He SHOT me. Why don’t I FEEL anything? Then there was a light burning. Annoying at first, then growing in intensity. I can hold on for a couple more minutes. That’s all I’ll need if all goes well. He failed to account for the fact the worst of the searing, burning pain was centered in his leg. He needed his leg in order to move with his usual speed rather than a limping gait. He grinned, but his confidence wavered. "Good one, you two. I admire a good trick now and then. It’ll take more than that to down me though." Karter pulled down his hood to reveal a scar running from his shoulder to just under his jaw on the left side. "This is from a battle far more painful than this one. Two against one ain't fair, but I see you’re playin' on my level, huh? You’re playin' dirty too."
Helmeppo | Lieutenant Commander | Marines | Tagging: Quin, Kiia, Gabe | Location: Tropica
"Kiddo, I’m not here to hurt you." Helmeppo sighed, rolling his eyes when the child charged forward. Brave. He could admire that. He never would’ve done it when he was their age. He might’ve sat back and laughed, or watched quietly with vague interest. These villager kids were different, they wanted to interfere. How bothersome. "There's nothing you can do with a couple of sticks. I’ve been hit by things way bigger than that and remained standing. I’m not afraid of you. You or anyone else." Except maybe Garp. He can pack a good punch. He tightened his grip on the hilt of the kukri. "It would be best for you guys to stay out of the way. I don’t want you kids to get caught in the fray."
Coby | Captain | Marines | Tagging: Nyx | Location: Tropica
Coby watched as Linkk rushed off, but the younger boy had already long gone, rushing after Karter to join Lucian. Coby's expression was void but for a flicker of worry dancing in his dark eyes. Please be safe...I’m sorry I didn’t get the chance to train you up better, Linkk. Don’t die. Come back to me when this is all over. Linkk was like a little brother, and his heart wrenched at the idea he might actually lose him, but rarely did pirates play fair. His lips curved into an approving smirk. "The kind who had hoped that maybe there was no need to sustain extra injuries. Some Marines are cruel when they fight. I strive not to be that way. I always give the choice BEFORE making a blind attack. I hope you don’t think I’m stupid to your Devilfruit, Sardothia. You're the holder of the Logia, Mizu-Mizu no Mi, if the documents are right. You’ll make a good match in a fight. Try not to underestimate me so much. I may not carry a weapon or have a Devilfruit of my own, and quite frankly, I wouldn’t want one! My body is my weapon, so go ahead. Give it a whirl." He grinned. He wasn’t as powerful as some Rokushiki users, he didn’t know ALL the six powers, but he had Soru, and he had martial arts. He was working on some of the other techniques. It would have to be enough. I can’t let this be the first failure to my name in more than a whole YEAR.
Kitchi Tala | Commander | Marines | Tagging: Sandra, Kirsten | Location: Tropica
Kitchi fought the urge to roll his eyes. He hated his stationing. Away from the action, yet where he still could hear voices as pirates and Marines encountered each other. His arms crossed over his narrow chest. "Well we may as well keep walkin' around, right? There’s nothin' saying that we won’t find some pesky pirates lurking around. Or we could head for the harbour and see if any pirates are lingering around there?" He suggested. He had nothing against the pirates personally, but hey, he was a fighter. He wanted to get in on the action too! He glanced at Sandra, who shrugged rather indifferently, and both sets of eyes turned towards Kirsten, awaiting their companion's input.
