"Let’s just...get the supplies we need, then see if we can get our butts outta here and back to the ship fast, eh?" Karter stole a furtive glance towards the Marines again. He could’ve sworn he’d seen at LEAST one of them lock eyes on them, even if just for a moment. They were all approximately Karter's own height, so there wouldn’t be a height advantage, but...who knew what the Marines had up their sleeves? "Remember, if it DOES somehow come down to a fight, don’t be afraid to fight dirty, give it your all, they’re expectin' us to break the rules anyway, so we may as well give 'em somethin' to worry ‘bout." He shook his head. "The guy in the lead, I had a scuffle with him before. He’s tricky. I can’t speak to the other two with him." From where they were, he could only see the backs of their heads, but he was SURE it was the same guy.

Helmeppo narrowed his eyes, gaze zoning in on the two young women leaving a house, a child with them. "That it is. Kassandra DeMarks. Small name pirate, been sailing for a couple years now, but she’s caused a bit of trouble, and she’s a Devilfruit user, Paramecia type. We can’t afford to get in close. The woman with her is their doctor, I remember seeing her. We have to take those two down. Arrest the doctor, and either arrest or kill DeMarks. Wanted, dead or alive. You take DeMarks and I’ll take the doctor? I’m confident I can win pretty fast and get back in time to give you a hand. Then we can take the kid and place her in a safe home, wherever she came from initially. I knew pirates were bad news, but kidnapping..." he shook his head. "But we have to get them before they get to their ship or we lose them." With that, Helmeppo threw himself down the street, hands lowering to draw the kukri knives from his belt.

"I see...well it’s a risky life, but at least she'll be with her mother. Be with a parent who DOES genuinely love her and will take good care of her." Kass smiled the slightest bit. They’d almost made it back to the ship when her smile faltered. A pair of Marines down the street, one armed and charging towards them. "Quin! We've got problems called Marines!" Her heart pounded, her breath came short. Not now...and here I thought we’d have a nice couple days in town, Quin could get some time with her daughter, and we’d be on our way...

"Go ahead. I’ll be fine here, I’m sure." Coby grinned. "I’m not a high ranking officer for nothing, y'know! If you think you saw the other pirates, go after them. Just...don’t be TOO reckless if things start going downhill. I don’t know what I’d do if I lost EITHER of you, and pirates don’t play by the rules." Then he returned his attention to Nyx, shoulders tensing, dropping his weight to lower his hips juuuuust enough that if need be, he could activate Soru and make an attack. "Don't suppose you’d consider coming peacefully, miss Sardothia?"

Coby's expression was guarded, but he only nodded to the woman. Yes, they were there to make a capture, but there was no need to be cruel about it. "My name is Captain Coby of Marine Headquarters. These are my associates, officers Linkk and Lucian, also directly of headquarters. I apologize, but this time our meeting isn’t on as friendly terms as the first encounter. We're here on an assigned mission." The rosette took a deep breath, letting his dark gaze linger on hers. "First-mate Nyx Sardothia, we have a warrant for your arrest under crimes of piracy and association with a wanted criminal."

The intelligent and stealthy girl nodded to him and said "Play it dirty...Got it," she then said, and headed with them into the market. A shiver ran down her spine, and she wasn't sure why. She shook her head, and began looking for the food stalls.

The sweet but stubborn woman said "Yeah. Thank you again for indulging me and my desire to get her back," she said. She kissed her cheek again, then smiled down at the child. She then gasped when Kass mentioned the marines, and grabbed Kiia...She narrowed her eyes as she saw the blonde one. She picked up the girl and began to run.

The sweet and gentle but stubborn and fiery child hummed. She giggled as she saw her mother kiss the other lady on the cheek. Was that what friends did, or did mama like this lady? She didn't really know, and then mama was grabbing her and running, dropping the clothes and a couple toys in the process...

The boy and heterochromatic eyed dog looked up at the two males. He smiled as he said "We don't want to lose you either."

The gray eyed black haired male smiled sweetly, and kissed him on the cheek. "We'll be careful, but you'd better be careful too." He then headed for the market, and saw a kid with brown hair, a man and a girl. He didn't see the boy's face yet, so he didn't know if it was the boy he thought it might be.

The silly sweet but stubborn and fiery one hummed a bit. the dark haired and gray eyed woman nodded as she said "Yup. I'll go get the navigator," she said, and put a hand on her gun. She then rushed forward towards the two women and the child.

Panic began to set in to the young womens mind very quickly, causing her nerves to spike and her breath to hitch for a moment as the man in front of her, "Captain Coby", adressed her with hidden mistrust. Her heart sank into her stomach. Nyx forced herself to keep her emotions at bay, resulting her face still staying as relaxed as it was. She allowed herself to block out all noises as she honed into the water lapping gently at the side of the boat. "Don't touch any of my crew. If this is a warrant for MY arrest and MY arrest only, you will not touch them unless you would like to step into some messy grounds" Nyx put it simply, her voice neither hostile nor friendly.

Adrian nodded and said quietly, “They use there brute force to try and capture us. IT would be best to grab our stuff and get the heck out of here. I’m not good in a scuffle so that is probably the preferred way.” He chewed his cheek more and trembled a bit more.

Ya she could be on the mission. Whichever one works for you for whomever she goes with Sun. As soon as I know where she is and such, I’ll make a starter post. Luka is open for any interaction on the ship if someone has an open character looking for a general conversation.

OOC: Given neither Devin nor Kitchi are anywhere close and are actually on the other side of the island... ahhhh remind me who's winning for Anya and Kass' match? They’re pretty evenly matched, I’d say.
OOC2: @Galaxy: Nobody I think is on the ship right now except my Lookout, Micah, and supposedly the characters of the person who disappeared, but you can have Micah and Luka interact if you want!

Karter would’ve LIKED to have played it cool and kept calm, but then one of the Marines had entered their general area and was watching them. Too late. We've been seen. He yanked his hood up and whipped towards Adrian and Navii. "Go go go! We...We've been seen, but if we can get back to the ship, we might be able to draw Luka and Micah's attention and get some help." He lifted his head. He would fight if he had to. Heck, maybe he would fight if he DIDN'T have to! Ideally they’d avoid injury though. I swear I saw this Marine guy too, came with that pink haired idiot who tried to take Navii... he didn’t do a ton. Maybe he’s not a great fighter? Ohhh I hope not!

If nothing else, the woman running was a telltale sign they had the right people. Helmeppo's shoulders tensed. Unlike some Marines with their grand speeches and reasoning, Helmeppo had no need for words. He needed only action. Did action not say things every bit as well- if not better- than what any words could? "Hey!" Was all he said, calling harshly to get the woman's attention. He didn’t mind not fighting fair, but at the same time, what fun was it if it came out of nowhere? She's not bountied yet. I have to be careful not to make a kill. That can be restricting, but not to worry. Garp didn’t train me to be a fighter for nothing.

Once Quin had taken Kiia and run, Kass extended her fingers, stretching. Sharp pain stung the nerves, the ONLY reason she did throw her power around casually, and sharp claws slid out from under her fingernails. She dropped her weight and watched the oncoming Marine. She couldn’t pick up any specific emotion from the woman though, even with her Haki, and while sometimes she got an inkling, at this distance, her Haki was completely useless at telling her opponent's first move! That unnerved her.

Coby would’ve hugged Lucian if he’d not been on professional terms and had not had a task in front of him, but that wasn’t the case. "Best of luck." Then he faced Nyx again, this time his gaze unmoving. He’d never forgive himself if he turned away for a few seconds and allowed the woman to escape. "No, unfortunately. That’s not how the Marines work. We have warrants for the arrest of any authority figure and any bountied pirate, of which you have two aboard your ship, Kassandra DeMarks and Portgas D. Ace. It’d be COMPLETELY against our justice code to overlook the rest of the pirates though. Our job is to take as many pirates off the sea as we possibly can. I assure you, there’s NOTHING personal from me to you involved in this assignment. We're only following the orders of our superiors." The rosette pushed his glasses up on his bandana to sit more comfortably and quit distracting him. "We can make appeals for lighter and less painful sentences for those who come peacefully, however."

Adrian nodded and said to Navii quietly, “Come on.” He skittered past a rack and beckoned for Navii to follow. Oh please let Karter be ok, he thought. His cheek was bitten raw and he wiped sweat from his face. He saw the door, the door to freedom. He slid to another rack and said in shallow breaths, “Should we make a break for the door?”

"Y-Yeah." Karter bit his lip. Then his gaze darkened. He extended his arm all the way, allowing his knife to slide from his sleeve into his hand. He’d dared not keep it in his belt for fear of drawing too much attention, but apparently that was a moot point at the moment. They’d been seen, they might need to fight. The Marine seemed a few years older than him, and about the same height. But Karter expected the man was stronger than him physically. "You guys go, I’ll cover you for a couple minutes, then I’ll follow suit!"

Nyx huffed a sigh, swivelling behind her just for a moment to watch for any other crew. “I’m sorry but I can’t let you do that. You come one my boat and arrest me, yet you mean no harm or nothing personal?” Thsts hard to believe” she commented lightly, hoping that her crew would be able to get away.

Coby sighed. This wasn’t the first time he would’ve dealt with a situation like this, and he reckoned he’d dealt with worse. No. Never assume someone's strength by looking at them. Most people wouldn’t look at me and assume me to be much either, and she’s a Devilfruit user. He reminded himself. "If I’d had something against you personally, do you REALLY think I would be standing here, asking you to come with us, rather than having already attacked?" He tensed his shoulders. He didn’t look like much to the eye, short by many standards, thin, not having much visible muscle on the surface, bound down by his coat. He was still quite something in a one-on-one fight though. "Linkk, see if you can find someone who needs backup, or try scouting out anyone else. Just like they say of us, where there’s one, there’s always more. We have to get as many of the crew as possible. I’ll give your sister the slip on this one though. I THINK I can manage this part on my own." The pink haired Marine clenched his hands into fists at his sides. "If you won’t come with us peacefully, then we'll have to do this the hard way." He wasn’t in his best shape, having JUST recovered from his old shoulder wound, but he was the leader of the assignment, and that meant he had a job to do, an example to set.
