The boy hummed as he stood beside his father, whom was making some cupcakes. He was waiting for his turn with them. What is meant by that is that he gets to decorate them and such. He huffed as he heard the shop door open and shut, thinking she must have left.

The friendly but shy male hummed, brushing through his dark hair again. He smiled as he clipped on the leash and harness quick. Even though the harness said Service dog, he still decided to answer Coby. "She's my service dog, because I have anxiety."

Coby only caught sight of the letters on the side of the leash AFTER he had spoken. Well it was probably a stupid question... Then he nodded. "Anxiety, huh? With high anxiety...what led you to the...er... exciting life of a Marine? Plenty to be anxious of even without being medically diagnosed as having an anxiety issues," He noted, which he realized after saying was probably not the most helpful thing to say. "Sorry! Sorry, I didn’t mean to make things worse or to pry or-" He stared down at the ground. "I’m gonna shut up now."

She's a brave woman, and I wanted to be able to be brave like her. She had to leave the marines when she was pregnant with my sister, because she needed bedrest. Anyway, I'm not worried, Shiana is trained to stop panic attacks."

Coby's dark eyes locked on Lucian as he spoke, and a weak smile came to his face. Coming to the Marines with hopes of being brave. That was something he could understand. "Well...if there’s anything I can do to ease stress around here, let me know. I know this job calls for a lot. It takes a brave soul to join up with the Marines, so I think you’ve got that part covered."

A deep blush shows through Buck's dark fur at their praise and he smiles warmly, eyes lighting up a bit but he tries to suppress his reaction to not seem like a total goof. "Thank you very much, Nyx is doing alright. We got lucky that it was just a fractured rib with no other compilations"

Karter visibly relaxed. "Okay, good. I dunno WHAT happened, but as long as she’s okay, then that’s what’s important. Where’s Chrollo anyway? Shouldn’t he have just double-checked?" The doctor had been noticeably absent recently, but he could have SWORN he saw him on deck just earlier that morning.

The intelligent and stealthy girl giggled a bit, and nodded to the cook. "It all smells so good," she told him, then glanced to karter. She tilted her head, asking "Who's Chrollo?" though guessing he must be a doctor. At least she thought he must be a doctor or a medic.

Karter glanced at Navii from the corner of his eye. "Chrollo is SUPPOSED to be our doctor, but the past two or three days he’s been pretty absent. I’m sure he’s on board somewhere, I’ve seen him around, but he’s just not...on duty, I guess." he didn’t talk much to most of the crewmates. Buck was nice enough, so was Micah when she wasn’t in one of her moods. They were...pretty much the only ones he actually felt remotely comfortable sharing casual conversation or banter with.

Coby nodded in response to this and sped up just a bit to walk at the young man's side. The town wasn’t far from the base overall. A bit of a walk, but nothing too tedious. Nice if they had the time to get away for a bit, which, with literally nothing going on for once, they did.
