"I'll make the first move," Raye said, pulling a card from her hand. "And I'll start with this: The Spell card Sky Striker Mobilize-Engage! This card lets me add a Sky Striker card from my deck to my hand. Next, I summon Myself! Sky Striker Ace Raye! (Lvl4/ATK1500/DEF1500)" A crimson katana appeared next to the duelist, and she reached out and grabbed it with her free hand. "I'm not like other duelists you may have faced," she said, "I don't have a single monster in my entire deck. But don't worry, I'm more than capable of taking you down on my own. Next up is the spell card Foolish Burial Goods! This card allows me to send one spell card from my deck to the graveyard. With that, I'll set two cards face-down and end my turn.

Codebreaker narrowed her eyes chancing a glance back at the teen close on her tail. "You duel without monster cards huh? It's my turn then! I draw!", said the female hacker as she removed the top card of her deck. This was going to be an interesting duel the purplenette could tell. While it was true she'd never faced a duelist like Raye before that was about as much truth as the other girl's words carried. Adding the card she drew to her hand and removing another in its place, "I'm going to start things off by activating the Field Spell Card Dark Network from my hand." A large green-blue bordered card bearing the image of a dark computer grid on its face materilized face up on the field. Picking up another card from her hand to place on her duel disk, "Next since there is now a Field Spell in play in one of our zones, I am allowed to summon Grid Sweeper to my field!"

Sweeper was right. The monster that appeared was small and looked a lot like some kind of household mechanical triangle vaccum. Not really, if at all, intimidating.

"And in doing so the effect of my Field Spell is activated!", said Codebreaker before continuing, "Dark Network raises the attack points of all Cyberse Monsters on my field by 300, but I happen to have this thing against LIGHT Monsters. Luckily thats not a big issue thanks to the fact Dark Network also fixes that by changing any LIGHT Monsters on my field to their polar opposite of DARK! In addition, should there be a DARK Cyberse Monster on my field, that monster gains 300 plus an additional 100 attack points!"

The small triangular shaped monster became shrouded in dark energy as it's attribute changed and attack points rose.

"Next I summon Dracconet to the field and, as a DARK Cyberse Monster, he too gets to take full advantage of my field spell!", Codebreaker called setting one more card onto her duel disk. As a result a white creature that appeared to be a cross of a dragon and a bird bearing blue lines criss crossing all over it materilized beside it's more mechanical friend. A dark energy covered the new monster as its attack points rose accordingly.

But Codebreaker was far from finished yet as she declared, "Next I will be activating Dracconet's special ability! Since I normal summoned him, he lets me special summon a monster from my hand or deck in defense mode, as long as it is level two or lower! And I have just the one in mind!" A card spat itself out from the female duelist's deck, "That monster is level one Dotscaper! He may not get the full 400 point boost but thats fine considering what I have planned for him!" 

A small rather odd creature that appeared slightly cartoonish and to be made of pixels appeared on the field joining the other two already there.

"If you think those three paltry monsters are enough to beat me, think again," Raye said. "I may not have any backup, but there's more than enough weapons in my arsenal to deal with you." Only one of Codebreaker's monsters had enough attack points to be a threat to her, and that wasn't taking into account her face-down cards. Even if the hacker was planning something else, Raye wasn't too worried. She'd trained against Cyberse monsters, she knew what they were capable of. Now it was just a matter of waiting for the right moment to strike.

"Then why don't we fix that?", Codebreaker replied. That was three. There were now three monsters on the teen's field and two cards in her hand still just in case. Raising her hand above her head blue sparks of static electricity went off at her finger tips. The electricity shooting forward as a blue gateway with arrows surrounding it along its boarders appeared. "Link Arrows authorized! The summoning conditions require two non-link monsters! So I'm setting my Dracconet and Grid Sweeper in the Link Arrows!"

The small mechanical triangular shaped monster and the dragon-bird thing on Codebreaker's field turned into twisters before surging forward. Each one then colliding with one of the arrows surrounding the gateway.

"Link the circut!"

The center of the gateway intensfied in light.

"I Link Summon! Link Two, lp Masquerena!"

Unlike the monsters used to summon her, the newly summoned Link Monster looked like a young human women clad in a black, gold and purple top with the sleeves rolled up and matching pants. On her feet were a pair of rollerblades and a odd glowing machanical tail piece or a hoop streached out behind her. Resting on her forehead was a feline mask.

"But I'm not quite done yet, because I still have Dotscaper!", declared Codebreaker before continuing, "With him I can Link Summon yet again! With the Link Arrows authorized, this time the summoning condition is one level one monster. So I'm setting Dotscaper in the Link Arrow!"

The mentioned little pixel monster dissolved into a twister like its comerades before and surged upwards to collide with one of the gateway's arrows. The light intensifying yet again.

Center down.

"Link the circut for a second time!", called the teen, "I Link Summon! Join us link one, Linkuriboh!"

A small dark purple sphere appeared out of the portal to take its place at the female monster's right arrow in the Main Monster Zone. It was rather cute and harmless looking with little feet and a pair of big eyes on the face of the sphere. It had a spike-like formation sticking back on top of its head, along with a tail ending in a arrow tip. Linkuriboh kicked its feet all excited to show it was happy it was summoned to help Codebreaker with the duel.

The pixel Cyberse Monster returned to the purplenette hacker's Main Monster Zone at Masquerena's left arrow.

"Finally Dark Network's effect!", shouted the female duelist, "Both lp Masquerena and Linky gain 400 extra attack points for being DARK! Meanwhile Dotscaper gains 300!"

Dark energy shrouded both Link Monsters and the normal Effect Monster as their attack points adjusted to the new increase.

Codebreaker eyed her line up for a moment taking in each one of her monsters and their positions on the field. She ran through her plan mentally again and checked her hand. "Battle! lp Masquerena! Attack Sky Striker Ace Raye!", the hacker ordered.

The female monster obeyed leaping into the air before spinning around ready to bring her rollerblades down on Raye.

Raye knew what Codebreaker was trying to do. Sacrificing Linkuriboh would reduce her attack points to zero, allowing her other link monster to roll right over her. A good move, and it almost would work. Unfortunately, Raye had a few tricks of her own. "This isn't just an ordinary sword, you know," she said, "it's packed full of SOL tech, and with it I can link summon, even on your turn! Armor Circut, Initialize!" Raye leapt off her D-board, flying through the gateway that appeared in front of her. "Link arrow, authorized," she said, throwing her sword into the upper-right arrow, "electronic warfare package online! Jamming suite activated!
Link Armor Summon, Sky Striker Ace Shizuku!(L1/ATK1500)" Raye's armor began to glow and transform, becoming larger and bulkier, with four massive plates extending from her shoulders and hips. A short blade extended from her left arm, replacing her duel disk. "This armor reduces the attack points of your monsters by 100 for every spell card in my graveyard. Since I have three, they're each losing 300 points! Interference Pattern!" The plates on her armor began to glow, waves of light washing over the field as Codebreaker's monsters' attack fell. "Not that it matters, your monsters weren't strong enough to destroy me anyway, even with your field spell."

The purplenette teen didn't react or say anything. She just watched as red energy covered all three of her monsters as their attack points lowered.

Meanwhile lp Masquerena brought her rollerblades down onto Raye. However, thanks to the plates the newly summoned armor had, the human-looking monster was destroyed when they met. As a result of her monster's destruction, Codebreaker was surrounded in yellow energy as her life points fell. 

Codebreaker - 3400 life points

"I place one card facedown and end my turn!", said Codebreaker removing one of the two cards from her hand. A second later and it dissolved facedown onto the field. "You're up!"

"Since my Shizuku armor was activated this turn," Raye said, "I can add one Sky Striker spell from my deck to my hand, as long as it's different from the spells in my graveyard. Now, it's my turn!" Two cards appeared in a brace connected to the duelist's sword arm, one from her armor's effect, and one from her normal draw. "I activate the spell card Sky Striker Maneuver- Jamming Waves!" Normally, this card just lets me destroy one face down spell or trap card on your field, but since I have at least three spell cards in my graveyard, it allows me to destroy one of your monsters as well! I'm taking out your face down card, and your Dotscaper's going with it!" The four panels attached to Raye's armor aligned themselves in front of her, a network of lines and circles forming a barrier between them. Waves of force emanated from the barrier, washing over Codebreaker's form.

The force made the teen raise an arm to shield herself but still made her veer around the wind a bit. Dotscaper disappeared from her field, as did her facedown. A hill in the data winds appeared and the teen steadied herself on her hoard before taking the jump over it to land on the other side.

"With one more spell card in my graveyard," Raye said, "your monsters' attack points fall by a further 100. Now, I'm taking aim at your Linkuriboh!" Boosters flared at the duelist's back, and she charged forwards, slashing at the diminutive monster with the blade on her arm.

Linkuriboh - 300 attack

"Linky isn't going anywhere!", said Codebreaker holding up a blue-green card for Raye to see before setting it on her duel disk, "The quick-play spell Cynet Backdoor will see to that!"

The dark little sphere danced in a circle before disappearing into a bunch of data bits.

"Hes banished plus I get to draw a card from my deck, as long as it is a Cyberse Monster with attack points lower then those of the original attack points the monster I banished had! Linky's original attack points were 300.", the young hacker explained drawing another card to hold up for Raye, "So I'm adding Stack Reviver with it's 100 attack points to my hand!" The monster on this picture looked like a little odd gizmo with mechanical arms. "In addition, come my next Stand By Phase, the banished monster returns to the field and is allowed to attack you directly!"
