Sienna grinned softly at Zoe before it fell from Chaska’s glaring. What was up with everyone glaring at her. Were they considering her a threat all ready? Especially the careers? She thought to her self but honestly maybe it would be fun to screw with this career’s head. Would it get her killed in the games? Most likely. But honestly she didn’t have much pulling for her.“Thanks for teaching me and I’ll be back. I just want to do a experiment real quick on a career.” She said with a mischievous smirk before getting up and stalking to the weapons station. Sienna started grabbing a bunch of different blades and threw them at a singular dummy watching to see what Chaska would do. But he didn’t react to her knowledge maybe those weren’t the weapons he adored. So she grabbed tridents and axes before throwing them at the weapon filled dummy, doing as much good as pissing off the trainer. When Sienna was down to the the last weapon she could slice and dice someone, she frowned softly at the scythe. But she picked it up anyway with a smirk before dropping it multiple times on “accident” to see if she could get a rise from the career or even him to storm over.

“Don’t say that, your going to make it out of here. Alive... I have a good feeling about it.” He said thoughtfully as he took in Colby’s advice especially when he noticed Sienna trying to piss of a career. Moses just face palmed,“Just a heads up when Sienna’s bored she does experiments like right now. You’d be surprised she is the smart one.” Moses grimaced and shook his head softly at his district partner before waving Zoe over to come join them so they could chat by the fireside. He rolled his shoulders back to relieve his muscles and put on a smile noticing how nervous the girl was.

Chaska's brow shot up at the word 'hun' he had heard that word but never before had it been directed at him. He didn't get a chance to say anything because she was already making her way over. His gaze never left Madeline as she leaped from platform to platform. It was clear that she was one of the more agile based careers given her speed and skill at catching herself. Sure she slipped six times but nobody had managed to get by without slipping so he figured it was part of the course. He wasn't at all surprised by the shout that burst from the district one tribute at the slap to the face. Before she could even finish her facts he was already making his own way over to the obstacle course. Making his way to the first one he paused on the platform to roll his shoulders. Then he was darting forward, leaping from platform to platform. There was strength behind each leap, he wasn't nearly as graceful as some of the others but he wasn't a bumbling mess either. He stumbled twice as he hit the platforms but he was on a roll. That is until he got the tingling sensation again and stumbled heavily on the next leap, luckily it was more of a drop of the knee that he was able to catch quickly and not anything more dangerous. As he leaped again he spotted the district seven tribute, what stood out was the scythe in her hands. Determination flooded through his veins and he speed up. Something that was more noticeable when he reached where the trainer was and gracefully dodged and flipped around each paddle until he was lunging onto the final platform. Without pausing for a breath he flipped off the platform and power walked straight past the other tributes and straight over to Sienna. He didn't intend on doing anything rash but he did want to save the poor scythe. "Don't drop the weapons, they aren't for idle play. If your going to drop the scythe then you should give it to me" he said gruffly. Was he channeling a bit of Eden? Yeah. Was it working? He wasn't really sure. Reaching out his hand he waited for the Scythe.

Sharnaz was a bit surprised by the excitement over the food but then again from what she knew about district twelve their food wasn't the best. "I wouldn't call myself an expert but I know my way around the kitchen well enough" she amended. As much as she wanted this tribute to be impressed with her she wasn't about to lie about her abilities. At least not ones that could be so easily proven wrong. What the tribute said next took her a bit surprise, she wasn't used to people being this easy to manipulate. That being said she wasn't about to look a gift horse in the mouth. With a wide smile she nodded "And you look like you can handle yourself in a fight, I am pleased to be your ally" she replied while offering her hand to shake. This alliance was going to be amazing.

Rieka nodded enthusiastically while Jay hurried off and grabbed some supplies. She would have hurried over with him but she was fairly certain that because she wasn't sure what supplies they needed that she wouldn't be of much use. So instead she watched him gather the stuff, making a mental note of everything that he picked up. She would need to know stuff later on in the game anyway. Better to learn now and be prepared than try and remember later on. As he rejoined her she took the supplies from her and started to show her the different steps. As he explained she started working on the shelter. Biting her lip she tried to figure out the knots. Through his careful guidance she managed to get it semi right on the third try. Turning to face him triumphantly she beamed at him. "I know it isn't completely right but I am on the right path! So what next?"

As she watched Sienna go and randomly throw weapons at a dummy, Zoe decided to try and speak to her new allies. If they want you, her mind warned. She shook it off. She went over to the guys at the fire-starting station and said, a bit shyly, "Um, could you teach me to do that?" The two boys looked up. One was a tall, strong redhead, and the other was dark-haired and cool-looking. All of Zoe's confidence faded away. She opened her mouth to speak and her mentor's voice rang in her head. "You need allies. Without allies, you'll be dead in an instant." She swallowed her fear and said, "I'm Zoe. Sienna was talking with me." She sat down. "We don't get to start fires much eleven... it's a hazard. There was a fire a couple of years ago... it destroyed all of the crops. A lot of people starved." She stopped talking suddenly as she remembered her small baby sister, slowly starving away. Tears prickled in her eyes, but she furiously swiped them away. This is not the way to make new allies! her mind screamed. She looked up and attempted a smile. "Well, hopefully, the arena isn't a giant cornfield... so, could you teach me?"

Caspia Searobin | District 4 | Location: Guantlet | Tags: The Careers

Caspia smiled at Eden & Madeline's compliments of her performance and nodded at Eden's question about the baby turtles.
"They're like this," She approximated the size of a baby turtle with her hands. "You'd love them. They're cute but so determined to reach the ocean."
She took the knife he presented and thanked him, heading over to the sign and scratching out a rough CS the best she could. It was harder than it looked, but she managed to add a little trident underneath - a symbol of her district and her weapon of choice.

Finished with her signature she watched with pride as Killick gracefully leapt round the course, stumbling the fewest times so far. She was unsurprised, the pair rounded each other off nicely. Caspia was all muscle and power with her trident whilst Killick's cutlass could favour a more agile and graceful approach and it showed.
"I'm glad one of us completed it so flawlessly." She told him once he'd returned to the group. Listening eagerly to his facts, she chuckled at the thought of his snores echoing round the arena. She had spent enough time around him to notice the two different coloured eyes and she'd often seen him surfing but the snoring was news to her.
"Here, your turn to sign." She presented him with the knife, gripping the blade as expected.

Now it was Madeline's turn to run the course. She too excelled, ending with a slight outburst as she was thumped in the face by one of the padded clubs followed by a graceful flip. Caspia listened to her facts, one oddly sincere, the others superficial.
Finally it was Chaska's turn to complete the course, but rather than return to their group after landing back on the ground he strode off purposely towards a tribute holding a scythe in front of a training dummy that had been impaled by various weapons and was surrounded by even more laying on the floor around it. Capsia glanced around to the rest of the Careers and shrugged, looking a little confused.

Felix Prestman | District 12 | Location: Knives | Tags: Penny
Felix was pleased that Penny was also willing to get away from these weapons and at the fact she actually wanted to come with him. Being forced to die in the Hunger Games was bad enough, but to go through them alone? He would go mad within a couple of days. And Felix had seen what the Games could do to some people. Tributes that seemed gentle and kind ending with blood on their hands and a grin on their face. No, at least with an ally Felix was sure he could keep his humanity until the end.
"Well, I know a little about plants so I don't think we'll starve." Medicine was expensive and District 12 didn't have much money so the majority of his father's treatments had been natural. Learning about medicinal plants often meant learning about edible plants too and so Felix wasn't too concerned about poisoning himself.
"Maybe we should learn how to build a shelter? Fires are too obvious but with a shelter we could at least protect ourselves from the wind." He barely noticed the fact he was referring to them as 'we', without having actually asked her to be his ally.

Gloria didn't pay any attention to Caspia talking about baby sea-turtles. She wouln't bother talking about something she didn't care about for the sake of the alliance. But she watched as Chaska, her district mate, run the course. Of course he completed it too. I must be the laughing stock of the careers. Gloria narrowed his eyes when he challenged girl at the weapons stand, she couldn't hear what they were saying but she assumed it was about the scythe she was holding. Gloria remembered from the short train ride that it was his weapon of choice.

Colby's attention shifted from his fire to the girl who approached him, and Colby realized it was the same girl Sienna was talking to. "Of course I can show you." he said, putting out the fire and slowly rebuilding it to show Zoe. The more she talked, Colby realized she seemed around the same age as his younger sister, and his heart broke. He had to protect this girl. "You want to make your fire as inconspicuous as possible, so use dry, dense wood like oak. You also want to refrain from using leaves because they give off lots of smoke when they burn." He said, demonstrating constructing the fire and quickly lighting it.

Penny nodded, relieved that Felix had a good knowledge of plants. She was also glad he referred to them as a we in the arena. It would make it easier if they stuck together. "Shelters it is then!" she said, walking over to the shelter station. The trainer there started talking about how to pitch a tent, and he to make a shelter with branches if you didn't have a tent or tarp.

Madeline's compliments dripped with false sincerity. Still, Eden appreciated her effort to act civil, so he returned the smile. Now it was her turn on the course. Her athletic performance did reflect well on District One, but Eden flinched as a club struck her in the face. The expected shrieks of rage pierced the air. Much to his relief, she went back to her graceful act in a second.
A brief look of pain flickered on Eden's face as Madeline brought up her mother, but he suppressed any further reaction. "She loved the peacock outfits we wore at the opening ceremonies," He added, referring to Madeline's favorite bird. Eden's expression lit up even further as Caspia described the baby turtles, and he brought a hand to his heart with an awwww.
As expected, Chaska performed wonderfully on the obstacle course. Eden opened his mouth to congratulate him, but it turned to confusion as his ally walked right past. After observing the situation with a perplexed look, he met Caspia's eye and smiled. "It looks like Chaska wants to train with weapons. Maybe we should join him!" He gestured to the numerous weaponry stations around the east side of the room. Offering the other Careers a smile, he set off towards the swords located next to the scythe station. He kept an eye on Chaska and Sienna, slightly concerned about what would happen. Please don't kill each other...

Grinning in a sharklike smile, Reyna shook the other tribute's hand. "Of course!" She boasted, always eager to talk about her strengths. Even flexed her biceps to prove a point. "I'll be the brawns to your brains. Leave all the heavy lifting to me."
Reyna's smile grew wider and wider as she scanned the room. Her favorite enemy Sienna had apparently provoked a Career, one of the stronger ones. Chaska. I can't wait to meet him, too. Even watching the boy from District Two sparked a hunger for battle inside her heart. As for the other Career leaving the Gauntlets, Reyna turned up her nose at him. Pathetic mommy's boy from District One.
"Got any targets? I have my eyes on Sienna and Eden," Reyna now spoke in a quieter tone. Her attention flitted to Felix and Penny before returning to Sharnaz. "Looks like my district partner made a friend, too. Let's take them both out."

“Give a girl from district seven some credit especially when she’s doing a experiment.” She said delicately before placing the scythe into his rugged hands that looked like they trained since he was young.“Congrats for kicking butt on the gauntlets.” Sienna said trying her best to be nice as she definitely didn’t need a career from two as her enemy. She noticed how most of the eyes were on them and then tension of others were rising but she couldn’t help feeling like she was back in front of the man interviewing all the tributes. Or the fact that most of the careers just moved to the weapons station. Mainly the career she bumped into earlier and boy did she feel uncomfortable especially with ringing in her ears like someone was talking behind her back. She was about to say something before she gave a small salute.Soon she stalked to the fire station before flopping down next to Colby and Moses exhaling loudly to her self.

“Heya I’m Moses!” He said with a grin before stomping out his own fire. Moses friends softly,“I’m sorry about that... I remember hearing about from the other loggers.” He said with gentleness while Colby reexplained everything to the young fourteen year old.“Now that would be interesting and horrifying but we’ll protect you, especially Sienna!” Moses said with a small smile and watched Sienna come over. He watched her flop down and exhale loudly,“What have I said about doing experiments on people who’s under pressure to be perfect?” Moses said before getting a response and chuckling at his train partner.

Eden breathed a sigh of relief when the girl from District Seven handed over the scythe. Hopefully, this would prevent any brewing rage storms from erupting. The weapon seemed like it fit perfectly into Chaska's hands, almost like an extension of his own arm. Eden remembered his mother's words, uttered in reassurance as a strong yet gentle hand touched his shoulder. "The weapon chooses its warrior." A classic saying among Career Tributes, and there was truth behind it - the scythe had chosen Chaska as its keeper.
As Eden picked up a matching pair of swords, he could almost see Mother's strong hands guiding his. She'd acquainted him with his first pair of wooden swords on his third birthday. Although his little hands were still soft and clumsy, she never lost her patience with him. She'd gently nudge his tiny fingers into position around the hilt, murmuring reassurances and encouraging words - "That's it! I'm so proud of you, Eden. You'll be an even better swordsman than mummy before long!"
Eden wiped something from his eye and gently set the swords down. Maybe later. Instead, he approached Chaska with a warm smile. "Everything good, Chaska? You did amazing on the Gauntlets. I'm impressed, but not surprised - we all knew you'd do well!"

Zoe watched as Sienna handed the beautiful silver scythe over to the intimidating District 2 Career. She took in a sharp breath of dismay. It was without a doubt that District 2 tributes were the strongest. And this one looked like he would let no one get in the way to get a scythe... and win with it. "Are you kidding me?" she muttered to herself. She watched as the District 1 tribute walked up and started chatting with them. The sense of security that she had felt with her newfound alliance disappeared as she realized that if there was a scythe at the Cornucopia... Chaska would most definitely get it. And in a Career pack? That was even more dangerous. She turned back to Colby and struggled to make a fire herself, aggressively rubbing sticks together in a very undignified way.

Colby said, glancing back at the Careers with apprehension. He glanced over at Zoe and quickly demonstrated how to do it again. "You have to be careful with fire or it won't do what you want."
