Madeline Gomez//District 1//Female//A brat//Tagged; The Careers
Madeline listened to Eden give his final words. It didn’t seem like anyone else wanted to say anything else. The others stayed silent, not daring to utter a single word.
She was completely content with just standing alone when Eden had moved closer and hugged her. She let it happen. She didn’t know what was wrong with her. What the actual heck was going on? She normally wouldn’t have let anyone hug her!! She would’ve complained about them being gross or a peasant or something!! Yet here she was, letting her district partner embrace her without any insults or complaints. She even hugged him back, weird...
Just as she wrapped her arms around her friend, she began to hear small gross noises. Tiny hiccups that were barely audible accompanied by gross sniffs, like someone’s nose was clogged or something. Disgusting. This was supposed to be a moment of silence and there were some gross sounds going on!! Ewww!!! Vile! Where the heck were they even coming from??? Was she hearing things?? Was she starting to go mad??
What this ginger moron didn’t understand was that she was not hearing things. In fact, she was the one making these gross sounds she complains about! She was sobbing, a completely human and normal thing to do when someone you love dies. Yet her brain refuses to acknowledge it, chalking it up as her going insane and also starting to blame the mutts again. She sure likes to blame the mutts!
She hated this. She hated all of it! This was all just so stupid and annoying!! Gosh, she hated it all. Nothing was going the way she wanted it to, or the way she had expected it to. She was angry, confused and sick, or at least she thinks she is. That stupid mutt attack had ruined everything! If only those idiotic rats hadn’t dared to attack. This wouldn’t have happened!! She wouldn’t be so confused, Killick would still be here, and maybe she wouldn’t be sick.
Stupid beasts, vile roaches, smelly rats, disgusting creatures, idiotic, moronic, foul, monstrosities- She thought to herself, mentally cursing out the mutts that were now long gone. She might’ve already cursed them out out loud, but she thought that wasn’t enough. She hoped their ghosts, if those stupid creatures could even become ghosts, could hear her thoughts and weep. They deserved all the insults Madeline could think of, even if they were already dead.
