“Hey I don’t blame him I don’t pile probably do the exact same thing!” She snickered softly smiling at how Jay remembered fond memories of eleven and his home.“I could always teach you tomorrow to kill some time if you want, I’m not the master crafter but I can teach you to a sharpen up some sticks to use in self defense!” She offered before her smiled felled at the unforeseen circumstances of their futures.“I understand I feel the same way about not being able to visit the other districts but President Luca has her reasons.” Sienna said at her futile attempts to cheer up the tiny teenager in front of her as she rubbed the sleep out of her eyes.

Killick thanked Eden when the latter handed him a piece of bread. A quick snack always boosted his morale before a fight. He bit into it, savoring the taste as his allies stood idle around him, also digging into their rations.
The boy then looked up when Eden announced that he needed to tell them all something. Killick simply offered his ally a nod, not wanting to get in the way of the young man's words. He could tell this was going to be very important.
Killick couldn't help but smile as Eden commended him for his work as a Career. It made him feel... seen. Like he was truly part of a family. Like he wasn't alone. Like he wasn't scared of anything, even dying. Career alliances were always considered to be like family, yes, but Killick really felt that vibe now. He finally knew what Careers past had meant. This was it.

"Thank you," Killick simply responded, but his words spoke volumes. The tone of his voice couldn't be any more sincere. The twinkle in his eye couldn't be indicative of any more gratitude. He finally felt at ease. He finally felt... at home.
Everything is going to be okay.
With that thought fresh in his mind, Killick joined the group hug, wrapping his arms around his allies. He held them tight—not too tight, but his grip was strong, like he didn't want to let go—before releasing them, a big grin painting his face.

Chaska watched as Eden handed out the rolls to Madeline and Killick, it meant they were that much closer to entering the forest. Shifting his attention to the dark forest he couldn't help the shiver of delight. Any other sane person might be getting nervous but Chaska was only getting more pumped up for the fight that was ahead. At this point he was excited enough that his usual scowl was gone and instead there was slight curve upwards to his lips and faint look of blood lust in his gaze. Before he could over excite himself Eden spoke up, something that the Career had to get off their chest. Forcing his blood lust down he focused in on the youngest Career of the year and was surprised to hear what they had to say. Eden was singing praises even to the people who had acted very oddly. As he listened he couldn't help but feel appreciation for Eden and the Careers around him. There was almost nobody else that he would rather be fighting by in this moment. As Eden turned to him he instantly saw the misty look to his friends eyes. Sometimes Chaska wondered if Eden felt enough emotion for the both of them. A thought that he didn't dwell on long since Eden quickly spoke up. His heart warmed as the words and before he could say anything he was pulled in for a bear hug. Lifting his arms he returned the bear hug. Within moments Caspia was joining the hug wrapping her arms around them. Not long after, the most shocking thing happened Madeline joined them in their group hug, closely followed by Killick. Mobbed in the middle with Eden he couldn't do much other than peer at the Careers around him. He couldn't be happier to have them by his side. "Sharnaz won't know what hit her" he murmured. It was his own version of saying that he had faith in them. That he was proud of them and that he was so happy that they were his allies, in fewer more vague words. After a long moment he squirmed out of their arms, slipping out of the group to take position right by the edge of the forest as though saying he was ready. His scythe was in his hand, his longsword was on his hip and his dagger was on his other hip.

Eden Beauregard of District One
Location: North
Tagged: Careers
Engulfed by the warm embraces of his allies, Eden felt as if his heart would burst with joy. Caspia was indeed a great hugger as her appearance and demeanor suggested. As he enjoyed the warmth she brought to the group hug, his eyes widened at an unexpected arrival. Even Madeline had dragged herself over to join them in a moment of rare affection.
Soon Killick joined the huddle, uttering his thanks in a voice so sincere it moved the District One boy to tears. Eden returned his smile and dabbed at the corner of his eye. His allies were just wonderful, he wished he could stay like this forever, cuddled up in the middle of a group hug with his brother-in-arms literally in his arms. When Chaska spoke, Eden could sense the trust and conviction hidden in his words. It brought a warm smile to his face and he snuggled closer to his ally, his brother who'd been by his side through everything.

Soon, the moment drew to a close. Eden watched as Chaska approached the edge of the woods, communicating wordlessly that the hunt was about to begin. The District One boy turned to his other allies as the group hug began to disband.
"Chaska's right." He was referring to the words spoken from the center of the huddle. Hopefully it hadn't been too muffled by all the cuddled up Careers. "Before sunrise tomorrow, we'll reunite that snake with her cowardly friend. They deserve each other!"
An eerie sound rang out from the forest, punctuating Eden's last words. Instead of having any dramatic effect, however, it was just creepy. He didn't like how guttural and sinister that noise sounded, like some demented creature straight from the horde of 18th Games undead mutts. Eden shrugged it off and fell into formation behind Chaska, giving an encouraging smile. "I'm ready."

Caspia Searobin | District 4 | Location: Into the Northern Forest | Tags: Careers |
Caspia couldn't help but feel a little glowy as the hug grew with the familiar grip of Killick's hug and shockingly, Madeleine's begrudging hug. Was she even smiling? Unsurprisingly, Gloria did not join them, just stood off to the side. It was a shame their whole alliance couldn't be completely united in friendship but Caspia couldn't complain. She was lucky to have these allies, Eden always making sure they were okay, Chaska who was somehow tough and gentle at the same time, familiar Killick who always had her back and... Madeleine and Gloria who at least knew how to handle weapons. They were all strong, and they were all confident. Sharnaz would be brought to justice.
When the moment ended Caspia backed away with a grin, focusing on the dark forests before them and tossing her trident up to adjust her grip on the shaft. That horrifying mutt-like sound was enough to drop her smile a little bit, Careers and mutts did not get along, but she quickly shook that off. They could take on Sharnaz and a mutt if they had to, and it would only mean they'd get a little extra fun. She took her place near the front of their little group with Chaska and looked at the others over her shoulder. "This is going to be good!"

Felix Prestman | District 12 | Location: Towards Jay & Sienna's Camp | Tags: Penny, Jay, Sienna|
Felix could feel Penny's presence walking close next to him and wanted more than anything to hold her hand but it seemed both their hands were occupied. Only their breathing pierced the silence as they walked around the lake until finally Felix stumbled into a river. "I guess we'll go up this way." It was too dark to really guage the quality of this near quadrant but Felix just wanted somewhere for them to sleep. He continued up that way until suddenly the light of a campfire came into view, illuminating a tent and two figures. Felix dived behind the nearest bush and reached out for Penny to draw her into the hiding space too. They didn't know whether these people posed a danger to them but they were certainly other tributes and it was better to be safe than sorry. Two voices carried down to them, one sounding a lot younger than the other. "Can you tell who they are?" He hoped they were friendly, the glow of that fire looked inviting and his eyelids were beginning to droop.

Madeline Gomez//District 1//Female//A brat//Tagged; Careers

Okay that was it! No more wholesomeness! Ew! Madeline separated from the others, that was all the affection they were going to see from her! Even if she wanted to continue in the rather warm and comforting hug, they had a slimy rat to catch.

She simply nodded at Eden, quietly agreeing with his statement. She didn’t know who this cowardly mutt was, but she knew that whoever they were they had gotten what they deserved. Madeline immediately whipped her head around at the sudden noise. She wasn’t sure what it was but it sounded like trouble. If whatever that disgusting thing was decided to show itself, Madeline would make it regret even making a single noise! Even if it was some scary mutt, she doubted that the disgusting thing would be able to even lay a single smelly paw or claw on her!

When she was sure that a cowardly mutt wouldn’t step out of the shadows, she turned back to her allies. “Stupid rat won’t know what hit her.” She said, her voice rough from so much screaming and the lack of talking she’s been doing lately. She took her place in the formation, gripping onto her fishing spear. There was absolutely no way that mangy mutt would escape them.

Jay Fernandez//District 11//Male//Tagged; Sienna, Penny And Felix

Jay smiled wide, excited about Sienna’s offer. “Really? I’d love to learn! Even if you aren’t the best I bet you’re still great at it!” He appreciated her efforts to teach him, even if she didn’t know everything when it came to wood carving. No one could really know everything about everything, that’s impossible! Knowing everything or being absolutely perfect was practically impossible. No one was like that.

“I guess she does, but I don’t understand them… I just don’t understand what’s so bad about it. Why can’t we visit other districts but the games can exist? It confuses me.” He asked, not really expecting an answer. He doubted Sienna knew. He didn’t really know why the games had been created or why they kept going on. It had never been explained to him. He just didn’t understand…. Why would the games be allowed to go on, but traveling was completely prohibited?

“It just really confuses me.” He repeated. That’s all he felt at the moment. Confusion. Or that’s what he thought. He felt sleepy as well. Maybe he would take a nap. He was still scared of being sneaked up on but he was also beginning to feel really tired. He just wanted to go to sleep.

“I’m tired..” Jay mumbled, he could continue his conversation about how he’s confused but now his sleepiness seemed to overpower his confusion. He definitely needed a nap.

“I get that and go get some rest I’ll take tonight’s watch again.” She said and gestured for him to head to the tonight. Despite not knowing how much she could keep up without any sleep but she would splash water on her face when she felt her eyes drifting off. “Good night Jay!” Sienna said with a small chipper smile as she scooted closer to the fire at the nippiness of the air. She just wondered how well the hunt for Sharnaz was actually going. The brunette clutched onto her hatchet while looking around for places to scoop up some water to boil. After the whole swamp incident she was nervous about other water sources.

Licaria Ryu of District One
As the smallest mentor fidgeted with the metallic clip of her clipboard, the quiet conversation of Icarus and Edmund faded into the background. Her notes interested her more than the chatter of two gushing Career Dads, as much as she loved them. By this point, she'd written a full page for each tribute who survived the bloodbath, even the evolutionarily-backwards cavepeople like Reyna Byrne and Darius Silk. Licaria almost pitied those wretched tributes. Of course, when she remembered the atrocities they'd committed against literal children, any compassion towards them evaporated faster than the spark of an outlet.
Once she'd finished reviewing her notes for the day, Licaria set her clipboard down and curled up on the couch. Sleepy brown eyes blinked at the television, which showed six Careers about to enter the forest. Fascinating. Their drive to seek justice seemed to overpower any sleepiness they would otherwise feel, as even Chaska - who hadn't slept at all in the arena - looked ready to fight.

"It's starting," Icarus said. "I'm so proud of my son. And Gloria, too."
"I can say the same about my son and daughter." Edmund's smile almost looked too wide for his face. "Killick and Caspia are wonderful, I love the dynamic they add to the alliance. We always need calm, hardworking ones."
"Yeah?" Icarus replied. Licaria could detect something like a competitive edge in his voice. "They're good. But my boy Chaska is this year's Career Dad for sure. Look at him. Father of the year award nominee right there."
Licaria tilted her head, wondering if she could join this conversation of dads. "My... Career progeny... are fascinating too. Especially Madeline. Her reactions are so unpredictable. Even with my most educated hypotheses, it's hard to guess what she will do next."
"That's nice, dear," Edmund offered her an encouraging smile. He seemed to have trouble understanding her words.
"Right. Nice. Anyway, back to my son. He is so genuine. I know Careers get a bad rap for our differences, but it's undeserved..."

Chaska turned to face Eden when he heard the others start to split away from the hug. Tilting his head he regarded the District One Career thoughtfully. His heart warmed when he heard that Eden agreed with him and even embellished on his words, it was always much nicer coming from Eden. His own words were rough and not well thought out, which made since, after all he was rough too. Eden's words were the stark opposite, always respectful and elegant and well thought out. There was no way to take the Careers words the wrong way, even as a social awkward human he understood Eden perfecting. He was pulled from his thoughts at the sound of an eerie sound that rang out from forest. The noise was strangely guttural and sinister, it could only be one thing. The mutts had arrived on the board. A quick look at his allies showed that the others had heard the noise, thankfully they didn't seem to phased by it. In particular the only reaction he spotted from Caspia was a the small drop in her smile, after that it seemed like she seemed to gear herself back up. With that mind Chaska felt revived himself, ready on again to go find the snake. Taking a step forward in to the forest he only got a couple of steps before a scream could be heard. It echoed through the dark forest like a warning. Glancing back at the others he only allowed his gaze to linger on them for a heartbeat before he returned his gaze to the dark forest. Then without a warning or even a thought he bolted forward, springing into the forest towards the sound of the screaming.

Stumbling through the dark with only her dagger in hand Sharnaz was slowly but steadily making her way towards the cave that her and Reyna had found earlier. It would offer the best protection from the cold and perhaps even the mutt that were bound to show up at some point. Unless the other tributes had run into mutts then it had been awhile since one showed up. There hadn't been a game without mutts yet which meant their appearance would be soon. Either in the morning or later on that night or if they were lucky then not till the following night. Pushing those thoughts aside she made a small mark on the tree next to her to show that she had been that way. On the off chance that she was heading in the wrong direction she wanted to be able to double back and figure out which way she was supposed to go. As she finished up marking the tree a snapping noise made her freeze up. That sound was never good. It could be another tribute, or a career out for revenge or even worse it could be a mutt. With a prayer on her lips she spun around and found herself face to face with a huge drooling mutt. Her eyes flew wide open, she had jinxed herself by thinking about the mutts. She barely had a moment to stumble back before the pack of mutts descended upon her. The forest echoed with screams for at least ten minutes before everything went deathly silent.

Gloria heard the ominous noise, stepping slightly closer to her allies and laying her hand on one of her knives. She didn't want to be on the outside here, of the group, if the mutts came they'd stand a chance, but it wouldn't hurt to be closer to the rest. All of a sudden a loud scream split the air. That has to be Sharnaz. Gloria thought, with an immediate spike of adrenaline, the career hared after her district partner towards the sound. The hunt had officially begun.

Penny wasn't all that aware of what was happening. She was so tired from lack of rest, but at the same time her senses were hyper aware for any trace of danger. If made her very jumpy. She followed from what she could see of Felix and crouched beside him at the flicker of a campfire. Penny shook her head. One of them definitely seemed smaller, and there were only two, so it wasn't the careers. "I don't know who. Not the careers though, there's only two people that I can see at least... maybe its..." Penny was about to say Reika and Jay, but then she remembered with a shudder the little girl's face high in the sky. Perhaps they would've remembered her and Felix from the cafeteria, but Penny doubted it. Plus, she didn't even know if they had met the tributes nearby before.
